~Zayne~
I frozed at the spot, as I remained silent to his offer.
No war for our humans, for Emily.
No, I can't give away Emily.
'NO! That's impossible" I outright disagreed with Vadka.
Vadka raised his eyebrows in disbelief.
Humans may have taken Maya from me, but over time I've learnt not all human beings are evil, especially not Emily and Steph.
'Zayne, we have to agree with it, after all their only maids to us"
Luther whispered to my ear.
'Are you mad? Luther!" his words ticked me off.
I hate it when someone calls Emily a maid, I even hate myself when I do.
She might be a maid, but to me, she's my source of joy and happiness.
'Zayne, you're a smart man, so think this through.
It's a simple offer, you're human residents or your castle falls apart and I take the humans either way"
Vadka said his voice very cunning and manipulative.
'You heard me Vadka, no deal!" I stood up slamming the table hard as I raised my voice in anger, causing an I easing loud noise, but Vadka was unfazed.
'Come on guys, let's go. We have a war to prepare for" I said no fear in my voice as I stared down at Vadka, my gaze fixed and unwavering.
'You're making a big mistake Zayne!"
Vadka's voice reached my ears.
Cedric, Rowan, Thorn and Luther followed me out of the castle. All the eyes around the castle, were fixed on us as we left.
Our vigilance was equally unwavering as we planned for the worst.
'Zayne, what is wrong with you?" Luther burst out as soon as we stepped out of the castle.
'This was our chance to end a war with the vampires, a war we can't win!
All you had to do was give Steph and Emily to them"
'Not another word Luther" I rushed at Luther, grabbing him by his collar and lifting his body off the ground.
'I don't trust these vampires, not one bit. Let's get out of here now!"
We entered into the hillux cars in same order as we arrived and drove off.
There was still uneasy feeling in me. A feeling that something was off.
The vampires are up to something.
'Guys stay vigilant"
I stood at the back, my eyes searching round our surroundings as Rowan drove the car.
'Fuck!"
A huge figure appeared in front of us.
'Zayne, thats a vampire!" Rowan said his voice getting a bit tensed.
'Rowan drive through it!"
Rowan accelerated the more driving full steam ahead and straight for the vampire.
Scrrrrrrrrrhh
What!
My eyes widened is shock, the vampire stopped the car, as it sunk it's long sharp nails into the car and brought the car to halt.
Impossible.
'You dare make a fool of our king Vadka, you will perish as will your kingdom, Zayne" the vampire stepped out of the shadows.
Matyr!
And three other vampires stepped in front with him, standing by his side.
'Rowan, stay with me" We gradually stepped out of the car, I clenched my fists tightly, ready to fight.
We shifted into wolves, our size almost doubling, as we ripped apart our shirts.
VRUM VRUM
the revving engine noise came from Thorn, Cedric and Luther, whom where just behind us.
'Vampires!" They shifted into wolves on sight of them.
They joined Rowan and I, standing either side of us.
It was stand off between we, the Lycans and the vampires.
Our fists were clenched, eyes piercing through each other, teeth gritting, rearing to attack each other.
'Vampires, attack!" Matyr yelled out, as the three wolves beside him flew into the air, letting out their sharp fangs.
'Lycans attack!"
We charged back at them, no fear whatsoever.
I charged straight for Matyr, his figure was much bigger than mine, but I couldnt care any less.
I pounced at him, my sharp claws taking a swipe at him and leaving a scar.
'Arrrrhhh" he groaned in pain, before barely ten seconds, his wound clothed up, his skin fresh as ever.
'Ha! Zayne time to die!" Matyr's voice was cold and evil.
He charged at me with incredible speed. He took shots at me, his fist closed together. I was barely dodging his attacks.
But the efforts in dodging were beginning to wear me out.
'Arhh" his fist landed hard on my cheeks as I dropped to the ground. His strength was incredible, more than twice of mine.
I glanced around, the vampires were getting the better of us.
I have to do something!
'I jumped off to my feet to Matyr's surprise and in the blink of an eye, I appeared in front of him.
With a primal roar, I lunged at him. I swiped at the vampire, claws glinting in the moonlight.
Matyr, swift and graceful, sidestepped with an effortless elegance, his green sharp eyes glinting with amusement.
My attack was weak and useless in his eyes. He retaliated with a flick of his wrist, summoning a dagger that shimmered like starlight, aimed directly at my heart.
I caught the blade just in time, our eyes locking in a fierce challenge. With a growl, he wrenched the dagger away, sending the Matyr sprawling backward.
But his was quick to recover, rolling to his feet and disappearing into the shadows, leaving only a whisper of movement in his wake.
My instincts kicked in. I listened intently, ears pricked as I scanned the darkness. Suddenly, the vampire reappeared, launching from the treetops with a flurry of fangs and claws. I pivoted, catching the vampire mid-air and slamming him against a tree with a thundering impact.
His eyes were getting dazed, as they fluttered open. He laid on the cold floor at my mercy and I methodically approached him, stocking him with a lingering taste to tear his flesh out.
'This is not over! The war is coming Zayne… Vampires depart!"
His voice echoed through the forest, as they faded into smoke and vanished.
I looked at my Lycan warriors, they were all bruised and battered, a state I hardly see them in.
~Luther~
We arrived at the banquet being held at the top most room of the castle.
There was quite a crowd of vampires, all in a merry room.
My eyes squinted as it went searching for Vadka.
There he is!
I saw Vadka enter a room, by his side two vampires.
Now is my chance, it's now or never.
'Zayne, I'll be back" I whispered to Zayne's ear and then move towards the direction of the room I saw Vadka enter.
'Phew!" I took in a deep breath as I stood in front of the door.
KNOCK
KNOCK
My hard knuckles landed against the wooden door.
'Yes, who disturbs king Vadka!" Vadka's sickening voice reached my ears.
'It's prince Luther of the Lycan kingdom"
After a brief moment of agonizing silence. His voice came again.
'Come in!"
I cautiously opened the door, I couldn't tell whether it might be trap.
'Hello! Luther it's nice to see you again!" Vadka was almost naked just his underwear over his body.
He stretched out his arms, as two vampires gradually dressed him up.
'What do you want Luther"
'You went against the agreement, you were suppose to wait for us, to give you the date and time to take out…… '
'Shut up already!" Vadka said cutting me off. 'I don't make deals with Lycan, especially intruders.
But I won't have known they were humans at your kingdom, if you and your friends didn't tell me… So I won't tell Zayne who the intruders where and I might just spare you life if a war happens"
I felt the weight of pressure leave my body. My heart calm down on hearing Vadka's words.
'Now get out, I dont anyone to see me walking with Lycan! ' Vadka said his tone now harsh.
I walked away from the room a relieved Lycan.
I joined Zayne and the others on a dining set up at the center of the hall.
After a short while, Vadka stepped out of the room and joined us at the table.
And he offered Emily and Steph for peace among the kingdoms.
Based on past experience, I knew I was not wise to trust Vadka, but we had little choice. We had to offer the humans to him.
But Zayne's next words caused my mind to go blank for a moment.
'NO! Impossible"
Is he mad! Does he want to get his kingdom killed over a pety human.
'Zayne, we have to agree with it, after all their only maids to us" I whispered to Zayne's ears, but it only made him the more angry.
'Come on guys lets go!" Zayne was already at the door as he stared straight into Vadka's eyes.
We followed him as we exited the hallway. The eyes of the vampires were all fixed on us.
Soon we left the castle on our hillux cars, leaving in the same order we came.
Cedric drove carefully behind the other hillux car, occupied by Zayne and Rowan.
Myself and Thorn were the eyes, as we watched carefully our eyes searching round the forest for anything strange.
Zayne had warned us to be careful and be vigilant and knowing Vadka a bit for myself, I couldn't agree any less with Zayne.
Scrrhhhhh
A loud noise of a car scratching against the tarred road reached my ears from in front of us.
'What was that? Cedric drive faster!" Cedric marched on the accelerate. We drove as fast as possible as we took a sharp turn.
I was surprised to see Rowan and Zayne in their werewolf form. Their body positioned for a fight, their fists tightly clenched and stood across them were four vampire warriors.
We shifted into wolves as we joined Rowan and Zayne in their stand off.
'Vampires attack!" the vampires charged at us.
And we did likewise.
A well built vampire warrior approached me. His was a bit bigger than me, but based on his body size I could tell the way to get round him was to outsmart him and out pace him.
A threw a punch at him, his large hands almost the size of my head. I sidestepped a few of his punches quite easily, exerting little energy.
He didn't relent, rather he only went in harder and harder. My continous movements began to take a toll on my body, I was getting weary.
'Arggh!!"
A firm punch finally landed on my face, as I flew straight into a narrow tree. My back came off the worse, the impact was ferocious.
My eyes were blurred but I was able to notice a figure running towards me.
He charged in at me with full force, his hands set to punch me through the tree.
But with a little move of my head, his hands went striaght into the tree. Falling it down to the ground, and in his slight loss in focus, I took a swipe of my claws at his exposed chest area.
'Ahhh.. Fuck!" A swarm of blood gushed out as he moaned in pain.
But his pain was soon replaced with amusement.
A sick grin appeared on his face.
Was he enjoying the pain? He must be sick.
My eyes widened in shock, as I saw his skin cloth up all the openings in his skin.
'Is that all you got!" in the blink of an eye, he rushed to me and took me by the collar and pushed me against a wall.
'Arhh… Argg…. Argh" his continous punches heightened the bruise on my face. With every punch, my vision got darker, my eyes became heavier.
He pulled out his hand, set for a punch.
'Vampires depart!" a distant voice echoed through the forest.
He ceased in his assault and with one last evil stare at me, he faded into smoke, as the wind took them away.
My breathing was intense and heavy, I knew that we were up against a real force.
'Lycans lets get back to the castle" Zayne's words reached my ears.
But even as we departed I knew we were up against a real threat.
