~Emily~

'What do you mean by that?" I raised my voice in anger at Luther.

'You heard me well Emily. Your friend her can no longer train your warriors until further notice"

Luther spoke in a cringe voice.

Can Luther get any more annoying? He's such a bitch, I can't believe Steph fell for this.

'Luther you don't have a right to do that. I'm telling Zayne"

I turned to walk away when a firm hand grabbed my jacket by its tip.

'Don't go!"

Rowan held me back.

'Zayne can't do anything about this. Luther runs the training grounds"

Rowan said, very disheartened.

Rowan loves nothing more than training people like us, people who have the hunger to learn and be better.

But now because of Luther, he can't do that again.

'I'll go now Emily, have a good time at the fields"

Rowan left very down, I watched in pity as he dragged his feet back to the castle premises until he faded into the sun.

My boiling excitement and anticipation to train so dwindled off.

I can't just feel the same without Rowan here.

But there was no going back now, I've missed so much already over the past few days.

I need to get back to top shape before I can even think of protecting myself.

Cedric took charge of today's training, we did a couple of rounds around the forest, I was drenched in sweat after we finished.

I was slacking behind most of it, as expected though. My speed is much inferior compared to the Lycans I'm training with.

After the long and strenuous training session we finished up.

I was panting heavily when I heard Cedric call out to stop the training.

I was putting in much more effort than before to be better but the joy I once had coming to train every day seemed to have disappeared.

I picked up my bag and my bottle of water and walked back to the castle.

It was a lonely walk for me, the only noises I could hear were the mild chatterings coming from the farmhouse in the town.

I reached the castle and to my surprise it was a bit rowdier than I imagined.

It was a couple of minutes till the castle curfew yet the courtyard was clouded up with lycans, it was a bit strange.

I ignored that and headed straight to the maid quarters.

Taking the turn to my room, but as I got closer my hands already on the knob I heard mild voices from my room

I came closer to my room taking a peep through the partially opened door, darkness filled the room and I could barely see anyone.

'Have you seen anything yet?"

'NO! You can help us, you know? And not just sit here doing nothing".

'Nah I'm good!"

'Guys Emily will be here any minute now! We won't want to get caught.

The voices continued to mumble, and I couldn't help but feel all those voices were all too familiar.

'Have you found anything yet?"

'Not really?"

'Guess we'll pick this up after, we'll just have to explain it you Luther"

'You're right, let's go!"

The footsteps marched into my direction. Their steps are getting louder.

I have to hide somewhere.

My eyes went searching around my surroundings.

Oh No! The hallway was almost empty, no place to hide.

I could only squeeze my body into the wall and pray that the darkness in the room will be my saviour.

I held my breath, my heart racing as three figures walked out of my room.

I squinted my eyes tightly to see who they were.

Reta, Thorn! I should have known.

The third looks familiar yet strange. Her blonde hair made her stand out, as everything came back to me.

Steph?!

Steph was in my room, but why?

I walked into my room and turned on the light and to my surprise I saw it as I left it.

They really did a good job in covering up their tracks.

But I couldn't help but wonder what they were searching for in my room and why Steph was with them?

I laid flat on my bed, looking up at the ceiling. My eyes were wide open as several thoughts flew across my mind.

KNOCK

KNOCK

A loud knock crashed on my wooden door, startling me up.

Who could possibly be at my door by this time? Isn't there a curfew already?

I cautiously walked up to the door, my steps very gentle.

I needed to be careful, they could easily be vampires trying to kidnap me like they did Steph.

I slowly opened the door, my eyes peeing to see who it was.

Zayne!

'What are you doing here?"

I was incredibly surprised to see Zayne at my door by this time.

Another figure stepped out from behind the door.

Rowan?

Wow! My two favourite people are here.

'Can we come in?"

Zayne asked, almost making me look finished.

How could I keep the Lycan king waiting outside the maid quarters?

'Of course you can,

I'm sorry the place isn't well kept, I wasn't expecting you guys"

There was only a couch and a bed to sit on in my room, so Zayne and Rowan both sat on the couch.

'How are you doing Emily, anything different happened today?"

Zayne asked me, genuinely concerned.

'Yes… ' I wanted to tell him about the experience that happened not up to an hour ago.

Zayne needed to know, I am sure Luther was planning something against me or him.

But what about Steph? She will hate me for life if they tell her to Zayne. And who knows what Zayne might do to her?

'What Emily? What happened?" Zayne asked.

'Training was tough but I really missed Rowan there today, he helped me get through"

I turned Rowan, we shared a smile at each other.

'About that Emily.

That's why we are here"

Zayne cut short the moment we were having.

'Emily, I will need you to turn up to my room by 7:30 am max.

We have a surprise for you"

'Surprise?" I asked now, more curious than ever.

'Yes and don't be late!"

Rowan and Zayne got up from the couch and walked out.

The worry of what Luther might be up to was soon clouded out by the anticipation of tomorrow.

I had to sleep early and get enough rest before 7:30 am.

Scrrrrrrrrrhh

My alarm clock rang at 7:15 am.

I woke up with my eyes still heavy, I struggled to stay sharp and awake.

Taking a glance at my window, the sun had barely risen, the morning cold still fresh.

I managed to dress up and get ready with barely two minutes to spare.

I raced for Zayne's room. My steps quickened, I had no moment to spare.

The castle was almost empty, just a few cleaners out early to do their jobs.

I arrived in Zayne's room right on time. I took a moment to catch my breath standing just outside his door.

I lowered my head ,my hand grabbing my thighs.

KNOCK

KNOCK

Footsteps approached the door, as my anticipation spiked up again.

'Rowan?"

I was surprised to see Rowan standing in front of me rather than Zayne.

But after I thought about it more, everything kinda checked out.

After all it was Rowan and Zayne who both visited me last night.

'Where's Zayne?" I asked, glancing at the room on either side of Rowan's figure.

'Come with me" Rowan shut the door and walked out leaving me puzzled.

Am I not supposed to meet Zayne in his room, like he said.

What's happening?

'Rowan, where are we going?"I asked as I followed behind me.

He turned to look at me, an amusing smile edged on his face.

'You'll see"

Yet again, Rowan and Zayen are leaving me in the dark. I can't understand what they're up to.

Rowan led me to a part of the castle I've never seen before.

It was covered in beautiful flowers, butterflies roaming around, it had a peaceful outlook.

I glanced around the place admiring it dearly. Every corner held its own beautiful secret.

As we got deeper, the flowers began to clear out until it was just a spacious grassland.

'Hi Emily!"

A voice called from behind me.

Zayne!

As I came in front of him, I didn't speak first, waiting for his order, but the next moment his voice shocked me.

'From today I will train you personally and Rowan will help me"

What! He was going to train me personally? I felt something incredible, is a weak human like me worthy of his personal training?

Now I did not have time to think about these things, although I felt my heart was full of surprise, but I also immediately acted.

My muscles instantly tensed up, I clenched my fists and positioned my body ready for Zayne.

I looked up at Zayne, he stood motionless holding his hands, he did not seem to do a defensive posture at all, it seems that the whole body is broken, but the invincible pressure came to the face, it looks as if there is no broken.

He stood as though he wasn't ready to brawl with me.

Am I too little of an opposition to him? Or is he taking it easy on me? I hope not.

I could hardly find a direction of attack, so I simply stopped thinking too much and punched Zayne directly from the centre.

The distance between my fist and his skin was not even a hundredth of a foot, so I could barely see the gap.

What precise control!

I felt a shock in my heart, this is a completely different feeling I had when I trained with Rowan.

If Rowan was a bison full of power in front of me, then Zayne was a fierce tiger with unparalleled power and speed.

Even my best dodge was no match for Zayne.

I didn't expect Zayne to be so strong, so I was almost dazed for a moment, but the next moment I came back to my senses, and my leg lashed out like a whip, trying to attack Zayne's waist.

Zayne seemed to have anticipated my attack and took a small step backward to avoid it. My kick is only catching the fresh air.

I couldn't relent and continued attacking until my strength was almost exhausted, but he was like a skilled expert, every step was as smooth as water, I could not touch his skin in any way, and even his hands did not drop.

Suddenly I felt a hindrance coming from under my feet and the next thing I knew I was off my feet and on the ground.

I looked up to see that somehow Zayne had placed a foot out, and had just tripped me.

'Your techniques are a bit predictable, and your movement stiff"

Zayne's face was cold as he withdrew his foot. Zayne takes training very seriously and puts on a different face.

I felt some loss but the next moment I raised my spirits, now is my chance to become stronger, I must focus all my attention on this.

After Zayne finished speaking he lowered his clasped hands, revealing his unfortunately visible muscular outline of his chest.

I took a deep breath to calm myself down, then let my whole body's strength focus on the fist of my right hand and struck towards Zayne's chest in a flash.

The hard touch reached my fists and it was as if I had hit a brick wall in this instant, and the force that bounced back reached my shoulder through my fist, making me almost fall to the ground unsteadily, but Zayne didn't even move a bit.

After previous training, my strength improved a lot, but all was fatal when I stood against Zayne.

At this moment I heard Zayne's stern voice

'Your skills are too weak, there's no way you can defeat vampires with them.

Continue to attack me until you can't stand up"
