Alpha transferred Liam to the Pack's house for full recovery. His condition was unstable, as his thirst was driving him crazy. Charlotte requested Alpha to let him stay with her, she would definitely train him in a week.
'I want him normal in three days. Otherwise snap this vampire's neck. I agreed for my friend but this monster has overpowered my Liam's humanity."
Alpha's fret was genuine. Honestly, Charlotte had no idea before that her blood was so powerful. Her father did told her that they were pure blooded vampires but her weak aura and unusual physique made her believe that her venom is useless.
Her sired vampire obedience was like an affirmation for her. She felt important after becoming a Master. A slight relish of power explained her the reason behind the power struggle; also pure blood's obsession of having countless sired ones around them.
As Alpha insisted on quick results, Charlotte took three days off and confined herself in her room with Liam. She tried to train him with hunger method but her venom was in the control of his senses.
In the end, she had to compel him in order to bring out his human side.
It turned out that he was scared, nervous and anxious at this sudden change in his life. He was like common human beings who accept their death and cross over but when he was pulled back by the bond of Charlotte's essence, he gave up his control and surrendered in front of it.
Three hours long therapy session balanced his emotions and he slept with out Charlotte's order for the first time.
'Why there is no book for newbie vampires so that they can just download it and continue their lives smoothly? My friends are genius who survived these obstacles alone."
As Charlotte was literally drinking blood in every meal, she was now fed up. She went to the kitchen for food and heard melodious laughter of Sophia. The origin of this polyphony was Sophia's room, at the end of the corridor. Her feet were glued to the ground, listening the most unexpected voice along with her. That were Alpha Eric's giggles, the one she never imagined to have proper muscles to laugh.
'They are together now!"
The delight from the breakthrough in Liam's recovery faded out with the anguish of heart break. She took apple from the basket silently and turned to go back.
'Charlotte!"
Roslie called from behind,
'Can you prepare some snacks for Sophia and Alpha? I am busy with her laundry."
Charlotte nodded and fried frozen items, sending them to the Sophia's room. As Liam was still asleep, she helped the omegas in their work and assisted Roslie in cooking meal.
When Alpha joined everyone for the dinner, Charlotte was pleasantly surprised as Sophia was sitting beside him. Their couple was like a match made in the Heaven. Alpha's cheerful attitude was revealing his heart's elation.
Charlotte left the gleeful dinning hall quietly,
'So, this is the real life, where the two equally qualified persons can stay together. Beauty and status can get you everything. What were you thinking? You are not a heroin of some romance novel where the hero will choose you rejecting the all best options for him."
She was hopeless, her heart ache was not even jealousy as she was never in serious realtionship with Alpha. She was nothing in front of Sophia. There was no room for competition between them. It was obvious that Alpha would accept the marriage proposal but still, public display of their effection deeply disturbed her.
It was the end of her day dreaming, a quite horrible one though!
"Time to wake up, Charlotte. Fix yourself before anyone knows about your little secret or you will become a laughing stock in the entire Kingdom."
During her walk, she was talking to herself, encouraging while cursing herself for the unrealistic miracles.
Suddenly, a soft voice sounded beside her,
"Loving someone is not stupid, Charlotte! Infact, love is a blessing and not everyone is graced with it."
She raised herself and saw Liam, who was looking fresh after his beauty sleep.
"You! You heard everything?"
Charlotte was startled that her secret was out and Alpha's best friend was the one to hear it.
A perfect recipe of a suicidal mission!
"I am happy that Eric has found someone who love him selflessly. Melinda's death was a disaster before. He was in depression for months, trying to commit suicide repeatedly."
Charlotte, who was totally unaware of Alpha's past, listened to him intently.
"Eric's identity was never hidden from me. From the day one, he told me about his Pack and his supernatural world. At his 18th birthday, he was so happy that his childhood friend turned out to be his soulmate. They were so cute, smitten with love that everyone was envious of their union. I used to joke that he will be a dad before his 19th birthday."
He sighed while shaking his head,
"But someone's evil eye engulfed their happiness. In a rogue attack, Melinda sacrificd her life to save him. Eric told me about the mate-bond thing and I witnessed it's strength with my eyes."
Liam stopped abruptly and turned to face Charlotte,
"Eric is an Alpha. Mostly girls love him for his status and money. I overheard your emotions and I am touched by the purity of your feelings. Can you please not give up? Try at least once. Look at me, I am a walking dead now. I have lost my chance to have a family with love of my life but please, don't deprive my friend from this chance. He needs you, he needs your love."
Charlotte chuckled at his childish behavior and promised him half-heartedly,
"For you, I will try once. You have to be a good boy in return."
"Promise?"
Liam was in doubt that how could she agree so easily.
"Pinky promise."
She raised her pinky to swear but Liam stepped forward, hugging her.
"I can't thank you enough for your favor. You are indeed a savior, Charlotte! I am so lucky that my soul is bound to you. I will stay by your side, always and forever."
