'Alpha is getting married with Miss Sophia. It's going to be a grand ceremony. We have to start early so that we can prepare everything in eight days."

.

'Married?

.

Charlotte wasn't able to listen beyond it. The crystal dream castle she created came crushing to the ground. It was broken by a simple touch of the outsider, not enduring the first storm.

Her hunger vanished, she excused herself and went to the Pack's forest area. It was after training time, so woods were quite peaceful. Charlotte found a hidden spot and let her emotions flow.

Was she feeling bamboozled?

Nope!

Dishearted?

Nope!

She wasn't even complaining!

Charlotte was just depressed with the sudden blow of reality.

The rainfall of her love ended so soon and the Sun of nemesis was shinning brightly, knocking some sense in her head.

'What are you thinking, Charlotte? A slut can't be a wife. It was bound to happen one day. Sooner, the better."

But still she cried whole day, mourning for her broken heart.

Women!

Jealous, foolish creatures!

It was about sunset when Charlotte's crying session ended. She was thinking of a good excuse because she would be investigated for her absence or may be Liam had informed the Alpha.

'Shoot! You are dead, Charlotte."

In this dire situation, she randomly chose some flowers and bought a basket from the store. When she entered the Pack house after decorating the flower basket, it was already dark.

First one to meet her was Roslie, who was looking hell tired,

'Thank Goddess you are here. Charlotte can you please help me in wrapping the gift boxes. I have to prepare dinner yet."

Charlotte sighed in relief that her absence was unnoticed and went to the backyard where young omegas were packing gifts. It was an unending load of boxes, mostly workers had blisters on their hands from labour.

Looking at their pitiful condition, Charlotte scratched her arm, drew a drop and rubbed it.

With in seconds, Liam was standing in front of her, gasping for breath,

'Yes, Master!"

'These packages should be done before sunrise."

He nodded and joined her for work. She sent everyone to take some rest. Their team of two was more capable than ten feeble omegas, who can't cope up with this unending hell.

'What was that, Master?"

Liam was quite disturbed with the summon thing, so Charlotte explained to him in detail,

'As your Sire, I can summon you anytime, anywhere with my venom. When I will call you, my blood will burn in your body, your steps automatically directing towards me. This burning sensation will only end when you report to me and fulfil my demand.

Are you feeling well now?"

She smiled at his lightening speed as he had packed two presents during explanation.

'I don't know, I am high on adrenaline rush. My body is not in my control and I am working with extra speed, that's it!"

Charlotte sat beside him and jovially ruffled his brown hair,

'Aren't you feeling strong with your ability? Work hard, I will reward you well."

Liam's eyes sparkled with the mention of reward (hopefully some extra blood) and they started working diligently.

'Were you crying?"

Liam suddenly asked, startling her.

'Why would you think that? I am perfectly alright."

.

'Eric is getting married!"

.

'Yes I know and I am happy for him. See, I have made this bucket to congratulate him."

Charlotte chuckled to look nonchalant, hiding her aching heart behind indifference.

'You should go and talk to him. I will manage it."

Liam stood up and gave her that basket, insisting on going now.

'Are you sure you can do this? Let me warn you! Consequences of not completing Master's order are unbearable. Even I will be unable to lesson your misery."

'Trust me, I can!"

After that, Charlotte resoluteness was unwavering. She trotted towards Alpha's office as Liam told her that Alpha was working late till midnight. Upon reaching the building, it was revealed that it wasn't sound proof like the Pack house. She was able to distinguish between Alpha's and Luna's voices.

She strode forward and found out the door was opened slightly, from where the whispers were sneaking out,

'Eric, It's a life decisions. I can understand your reasoning but a mate is someone you love even it's a chosen mate."

'Mother, you shouldn't be worry about me anymore. I am all set. Sophia is a strong Alpha lady. She can bear an Alpha heir for the Pack, what else do you want?"

Alpha's tone was confusing, like he was puzzled with Luna's objections,

'I want to know your intentions for Charlotte. She is a vampire but still you are entangling with her. Why are you not foreseeing that it can create hurdles for you in the future?"

Charlotte was more intrigued in this conversation now. Eavesdropping was so important, she realized it today.

'My question is why are you stressing over a time-pass fling? She can't get pregnant, which made her the best in all whores you forced on me. I can't get your point of pointing towards my plaything…."

Alpha's trash talk was continued but with a sudden gust of wind, the door was closed.

Charlotte placed the bucket at the door step and returned quietly, but this time with a solid decision.

She came back to Liam who was losing his mind in in-humane labour and started working .

'What's the update, Charlotte?"

Charlotte laughed that in such a piteous condition, he was still up for gossip.

'You should be called a chit-chat-Queen instead of Liam."

He didn't mind her joke and repeated his query, so Charlotte lied,

'I went to Alpha's office but the door was locked. I supposed that he must be in a meeting, I left the basket there and came back."

Thanks to Goddess Liam bought it!

'Oh, That's why you are so early. I thought you guys fought with each other."

'You are overthinking. He is so nice to me, why will we fight?"

Charlotte brushed off his disbelief and they worked till morning, finalizing the whole lot of presents.

Roslie was not believing her eyes when she saw beautifully wrapped boxes in the morning. She sent them for rest as their services will be needed again soon.

Pack house was flooded with designers and stylists and as usual, Charlotte was busy in their service. As she was standing on stove duty, she was just listening the happy chatters and ambiguous comments during the wedding dresses selection.

Luna was selecting dresses for both Alpha and Sophia, who were arguing for styles and matching. The conversation between highly cultured and classy people was informative for someone like Charlotte, who could recognize colors as just pink, blue and green.

She repeated her decision like a mantra in her mind, busying herself to avoid Alpha. She needed some time to put up a happy face, concealing her hurt and jealousy. Although she knew that it will be sooner than she anticipated...
