'Why didn't you knock, little one? What's with the 'you were busy' excuse?"
Charlotte was standing heads down like a criminal whereas Alpha was pacing back and forth in his room. He was angry because an omega picked up that basket before he could get it and threw it in the dustbin.
Liam was the source of this news and now even after punishing that unlucky cleaner, Alpha was scolding Charlotte,
'Don't you know the basic rules to give someone a present? Can't you just wait outside if you were too scared to disturb my work?
Beep!"
Well, rest of the Alpha's words are censored as Charlotte didn't know the meaning of those curses.
Seeing him boiling with fury, she tried to subside the flames,
'It was nothing special, Alpha. There were just wild flowers which will wither after sometime. The most significant thing was my heartfelt wishing and you got them, it's enough."
Charlotte guessed that it wasn't a good reason as Alpha literally squeezed her shoulders.
'It's important. I want my present back, even it's just a trash now."
She gulped hard, accusing herself that she shouldn't have brought anything in the first place. She tiptoed and kissed his cheek, circling her arm around his neck,
'Don't fret over the lost cause. I will get you same flowers next time. Is that okay?"
It was certainly not okay according to Alpha's facial expressions but still he cooled down and kissed her back.
'I have to tell you the details. It's a political alliance…."
Charlotte cut him off gently,
'I don't understand big talks and difficult diplomacy. You are here with me right now. Let's not ruin our moment."
Alpha's attempt for explanation died down as she initiated coitus for the first time, fatal enough to drive him crazy.
…
Back in her room, Charlotte was playing with her bracelet mindlessly which Alpha gifted her last night.
'So you guys are exchanging gifts, why didn't you show me?"
This was none other than Liam, who was complaining about Alpha's secrecy,
'We always used to buy things together for our dates. We were a team."
'It's not a big deal, Liam. Luna selected this piece for Sophia but she didn't like it, Alpha gave it to me. Don't blame him, he didn't break the brother's pact between you two."
Charlotte normally told him the same reason that Roslie disclosed in the morning after seeing it.
Liam was taken back by this absurd logic, he was going to confront Alpha but Charlotte stopped that energetic warrior,
'I like it, Liam. Don't create problems for us."
He huffed and went on 'boycott Charlotte" mission. She was ironing Sophia's dress next evening when Liam came to her,
'Aren't you jealous, Charlotte. What kind of a girl you are? You should fight with him. How can he marry with someone else except you?"
Charlotte cautiously hanged that elegant gown back on the mannequin and asked him,
'What's the difference between this dress and my clothes?"
She pointed towards her long skirt and full sleeves shirt with an additional scarf over her chest.
'Isn't it obvious? That's a formal gown for show-off and your outfit is just good enough to meet the necessity of covering your body."
Liam was perplexed with her strange question, totally baffled.
'That's the difference between Sophia and me. We both are with Alpha but for entirely opposite reasons. Now, go back to work. Guests will be there from tomorrow morning."
Charlotte didn't pester over his grave expressions and left for the next duty.
...
Both of them were doing laundry when Alpha personally locked them in the basement as guests were coming to Pack house.
'That idiot, he promised me about his Marriage Ceremony. Now, here I am, imprisoned in the dark room."
Liam was curled up in the corner, not realizing the gravity of the situation.
'You are not a human anymore, Liam. Friendships and relationships in your human life had been ended. You are a sired vampire now, who are not allowed in the Werewolf's Pack. Stay put, you can use these days to learn more about Vampire's culture."
Well, this remained a dream of Charlotte to enjoy liberty of vacation as Roslie shortly came after Alpha and freed them.
'Luna has ordered kitchen duty for both of you. Get back to work!"
Just like that Charlotte and Liam were escorted to the backyard. There were twenty stoves and ten traditional oven set-up arranged in backyard, to prepare a grand feast. Catering company was hired for the commoner's meals but guests, they should be served with home cooked food.
Team of omegas sighed in relief after seeing them and started working with new enthusiasm.
'How many special guests are expected?"
'About Two hundred."
Roslie was supervising them along with writing down the schedule and recipes for dishes. Her family's secret recipes were matchless, creating mouth watering food better than Michelin Star restaurant.
No wonder Luna trusted her for the special guests!
Their stealth services continued successfully with out getting spotted.
Finally, on the day of Mating + Luna ceremony, Roslie specially enlightened them with rituals.
'After mixing their blood for connection, three Packs will link with our Pack's link, then Alpha and Sophia will mark each other. She will be announced as Luna and the present Luna will be retired from this post. Then they will go for their run in their wolf form, whole pack following them as wolves. We omegas will wait with dinner as we can't shift into the wolf form."
Her dreamy eyes were sparkling with the imagination of the upcoming intimate Ceremony, pivotal for the welfare and strength of the Silver Moon Pack.
…
In the afternoon, Roslie went to help in pack ground (the venue of Ceremony). Charlotte sent an omega girl to fetch some colorful wild flowers.
In snacks break, she assembled another flower basket. Liam's sympathetic gaze was fixed on her cold countenance. He wasn't recognizing the same Charlotte, whom he met few days ago.
There was a coffin faced Vampire in front of him whose aura was exuding icy frostiness, shuddering the ones around her.
His stomach churned as the horror of his Master settled in his mind, the one he wasn't expecting to catch from over friendly and sweet Charlotte.
'Something is cooking!"
He thought to himself but didn't dare to voice his notion. In the evening, everyone left to attend the Ceremony after closing the kitchen, leaving them behind alone.
When Charlotte sat down on the floor, it was impossible for Liam to follow her.
'Come Liam, I want to tell you something."
In a jiffy, he was beside her, listening with his ears wide open,
'You will carry on the practice to control your thirst, killing any innocent is strictly forbidden. You are free to live anywhere or doing any business to earn but revealing your identity to humans is not allowed."
Liam's heart dropped as these were not instructions but the code of conduct for him. He sealed his lips shut as his Sire's eyes were flashing with redness.
'Keep this basket, letter and jewelry box with you. You will hand them to Alpha after the Ceremony. You are on your own now. I will summon you whenever I need.
Stay safe!"
With her final words, she got up, hugged Liam for the last time and left the big celebrations of Pack silently.
