That vampire was in the middle of life and death as his Master sucked out his venom from his body. He couldn't die as his soul was still bound to his Sire and can't live as pure blood's venom was out of his system.

Charlotte shuddered at the cruelty of his Master, who deliberately put him in this misery. She pinched her finger and poured a few drops, merely as an instinct but this little favor was a life source for him. He jolted up by those blood drops,


'How can I address you, my savior?"

He lowered his head and knelt down, showing his gratitude.

'My name is not necessary. Just complete your punishment silently and don't mention me in front of your Sire. I don't want any trouble."

He placed his fist on his chest. Then he got up, looked at her one last time before disappearing in the dark.

As expected, Daniel was sitting at the edge of the cliff, mimicking a statue. Charlotte's name was flashing on his mobile screen but he was unfazed like a frozen lake.

'I should buy a cellphone same as your brand. Battery life is amazing as it's continuously ringing from the last fourteen hours."

She sat beside him putting her coat over his shoulder. He was sitting in the normal shirt and dress pant, definitely planning for a hospital visit.

Silence was the answer of ice faced Daniel, who was staring at the sky.

'I know stars are very bright tonight, but this Star is in your access. What about paying a little attention on it too?"

She bumped his shoulder playfully to get his attention, he sighed, rubbing the corners of his eyes.

'Life is not a joke, Star. As a pampered child of a rich family, you can't relate to the problems of someone like me."

His glooming countenance broke her heart, she spoke in a soft voice oftenly used for pets.

'And shunning off from the entire world is a solution? As you have taunted me for my background, than I am sure your problem is money related. You prefer to face things alone other than taking my help. Good to know!"

Daniel's reaction was instant, his lips curled up,

'You sneaky kitten! You are using my words against me."

'Because I am trying to prove my point here. It's difficult to ask for help even for someone like you who is use to have a family around him. Anyhow, why didn't you go to office, uncle was asking about you."

As Daniel was still depressed, Charlotte feigned ignorance.

'I am going to be arrested anyway. It's best not to taint the reputation of Lockwoods."

Charlotte chuckled, fixing her stay hair,

'Do you think uncle will let his future son-in-law to go to the jail for merely fifty grands? You got to be kidding me."

Daniel's eyes widened, his mouth opened at this fortuitous news,

'Are you talking about me, Star?"

'Yes, of course! Thanks to your bright attitude, Uncle is convinced that you can take good care of me. So congratulations, Mr. Daniel Webber! You have been officially appointed as my boyfriend."

She glanced at his dumbfounded face and proceeded,

'And look at me. I have to come all the way here to give you your appointment letter. You are so irresponsible, Mr. Boyfriend!"

'You are pulling my leg, Star. Show me my appointment letter."

Daniel wasn't believing her, so he demanded a written proof.

'Check your account. I have sent thirty grands in your account as your first pay check. Is it enough for a proof?"

He literally checked his phone and then laughed,

'Remember? When we came last time, there was no signal in this area when we needed. Now, here I had received one hundred and thirty missed calls altogether. So, this boyfriend thing is real. It's so crazy."

'It is, sweetheart! You should go back home first as your problems are solved now."

Charlotte got up to leave but Daniel held her hand,

'Are you comfortable with this whole boyfriend/girlfriend thing?"

Charlotte crouched down, leaning towards him,

'You said my daring to approach first is my strength, so I am taking another chance. I don't find you repulsive and that's a pretty good start."

'Ae you hitting on me?"

'Yes, and I am brave enough to admit it."

She winked and withdrew her hand while standing up.

'Star, why is your hand so cold?"

He faced her, looking straight into her eyes.

'I think you failed to notice that my coat is on your shoulders. What body temperature are you expecting in forty degree Fahrenheit here? Not to mention the thunderstorm last night."

They both giggled at their stupid bickering. Daniel stretched his long arm and wrapped around her shoulder along with the coat.

'If you don't like the necklace, you can return it. I will make an excuse at home."

Charlotte, who was half asleep, called him back.

'You are so cheap, Daniel! Finally Aunt has gifted me a piece of jewelry and it's causing you stomach ache in the middle of the night. Listen to me carefully! I will never return this gift back, It's mine now. Go back to sleep."

She was about to sleep when her cell phone rang again but this time caller name removed all the sleepiness from her eyes…
