Although Lycans were allowed to run after ten minutes but soon Charlotte heard their approaching footsteps. Instead of getting shredded like a hunted prey, she decided to face them and stood beside a tree, witnessing her approaching death.

'It was a nice journey, Star."


She smiled and closed her eyes as the monster jumped at her from ten feet distance.

But surprisingly, she sensed someone coming from behind and then there was a loud thud, followed by loud, deferring growls.


Charlotte opened her eyes and saw a huge silver wolf standing in front of her, snarling at whimpering kids. Lycan form can be magnificent but due to the lack of training, they were easily defeated by an experienced wolf. But wait!

'That is ...?"

'Shoot!"

Charlotte cursed as this was the mighty wolf of Alpha Eric, whom she was running from before. How unlucky she was to travel all the way here to meet him like this!

Her breath came in shallow gasps in a jiffy, chest rising and falling rapidly as the crimson eyes of that wolf were now threatening to suffocate her.

Charlotte stepped back, turned to run again. In a flash, Alpha's big paw flattened her on the ground, his vicious growls warning her. Her heart hammered against her rib cage, a thunderous beat that reverberated through her body, matching the rhythm of the escalating panic.

'Don't scare her, Alpha. Calm down!"

Fortunately, a kind feminine voice came to her rescue. Alpha protested in low growls before setting her free hesitantly.

'Now, give back control to Alpha Eric and attend the official meeting. His Majesty is waiting for you."

That She-wolf with a magnificent mating mark of a Lycan commanded softly but her voice was bearing Royal authority. Silver wolf lowered her head and whimpered, leaving dejectedly.

'Everyone, go back to school. Such kind of living samples will not be allowed in future."

'Yes, Your Highness!"

They sang in chorus and Charlotte who was sitting sitting on the ground, stood up.

'I , I am…"

She fumbled before her regal aura but she invited her benevolently.

'You must be feeling uncomfortable, come with me."

In a daze, Charlotte followed her to the car which took them to the Royal Castle. She personally took her to the guest room and provided her clean clothes. After a shower, Charlotte was almost back in her senses. Her mouth watered at the steaming meal and a flask of fresh blood.

On her cue, Charlotte feasted on the food like she was starving for ages. That woman was observing her closely but she didn't bother. She was scraping the crumbs of the black forest cake, when that kind woman finally spoke,

'It's my first time to see a vampire with so much restrain. By the way, I am Jasmine, this is my home."

Fork fell with a ‘clank' from Charlotte's hand, she finally recognized her. Jasmine Adams was 'The Queen" of Alpha King Alexander Maximus, the woman ruling over all the shifter kind and (indirectly) on the Vampires too.

She quickly knelt on the floor, her arms stretched with palms facing upward.

'Greetings, Your Highness! Please accept my heartfelt apology for my impudence. I failed to recognize you."

Jasmine chuckled and asked her to rise,

'I can understand your situation, dear. Don't worry about formalities. What's your name?"

Charlotte told her about her background in the Vampire Kingdom. Seeing her relaxed, Jasmine excused herself as her kids were coming in turns with different complains.

'Men are impatient creatures, Star. In case of any conflict, wear Alpha's clothes. It works like a charm."

She bit the corner of her lip and winked slightly. Charlotte stared at Jasmine's back in bewilderment as she was puzzled because of her advice.

'Any way, I will run away at the first chance I get."

But unfortunately, the doors and windows were locked and her belongings were snatched by that Rick before, so she stomped her feet and laid on the master bed mindlessly.

Stern voice of Alpha King Alexander Maximus was chiming in the ears of seven Alphas in the throne room. Everyone present was listening to him intently except Alpha Eric, whose eyes were wandering from laptop screen to the door. He brushed his taper fade cut hair with his fingers repeatedly as his mind was too preoccupied to understand King's words.

'Meeting is adjourned!"

United greetings of fellow Alpha's caught Eric's attention and he got up hurriedly, leaving things to his Gamma but Alpha King ordered,

'Alpha Eric, You stay here!"

Eric closed his eyes and took a deep breath. His claws were digging in his palms as he sat down with an expressionless face. Everyone left the throne room, leaving them alone. Just then Alpha King Alexander voiced his concerns,

'About the vampire you captured, isn't she the same fugitive you wanted to catch before? You said that the Vampire King is hiding her but Sunny brought her from the slave market. What's the real deal, Alpha Eric?"

Alpha's eyes turned red at the mention of the slave market, indicating that his wolf was offended with her insult but he reigned him in.

'That's what the Vampire King told me nine years ago when I wrote a letter to him. As for rest of the tale, I am clueless just like you."

Alpha King nodded and spoke again after thinking for the length of time,

'You still want to attack on the Vampire Kingdom? Apparently, your problem has been solved without much effort."

'I want to and I will. That liar's skull will be crushed by my hands but not now. I want some time to stay with her."

Alpha King was smiling gleefully, amused by Alpha Eric's desperate tone as he was enjoying his pitiful condition by stalling time.

'I have found my mate after fourteen years of wait. I don't think you need any further explanation."

'You didn't mention before that she is your mate."

Alpha King become serious instantly, his voice laced with shock.

'I also find it just now. If there's nothing else, I will take my leave. Farewell, Your Majesty."

'Don't reject her because she is a vampire, Alpha! Mates are not easy to be found!"

Hearing this advice, Alpha bowed his head and left hurriedly…
