It was almost twenty four hours being locked in Alpha's room and Charlotte was gone bonkers. Even her own senses were betraying her. Ever soothing scent of Alpha was causing her headache, irritating her to the core. There was no other way beside sitting silently due to Alpha's sounds proof room.

'Bingo!"


Then a brilliant idea came to her mind. Charlotte drew her blood and rubbed it on her palm, waiting for it's miracle. Within five minutes, she heard the click of lock and a victorious smile adorned her face. But to her dismay, half dead Liam was kicked in the room, closing the door behind immediately.

'That's the step one of my plan!"

Charlotte comforted herself and looked down at Liam who was gasping for air.


'Get up and greet your Master."

Acting on her order, he calmed himself down and hugged her instantly.


'Where were you, Charlotte? I missed you a lot."

Then he quickly withdrew,

'Tell me, did you sired anyone else?"

Charlotte laughed at his reservations, she was in the middle of crisis and he was insisting over her sire line.

'No Liam, you are the only I ever sired. Did you live well? Did someone bully you?"

Well, this pressed the play button of Liam. He enlightened her with the previous Pack's events including Sophia's run away plan, Alpha Bryson's fuss, him leading a separate rogue Pack, Roslie's death in prison, Luna's worry about Pack's future and current celebration in the whole pack.

Charlotte was sad to hear that Roslie was punished for twenty years in the prison just because she opened the door of the basement against Alpha's order. She was flabbergasted that Eric was still persistent with his demand and even informed his Pack that he had found their Luna.

Ridiculous!

'Pack members are gossiping about a vampire Luna but still, everyone is happy for Eric; he had to wait this long for a mate. He grew cold and feral during previous years. According to Luna, werewolves tend to become more inhumane in their mate's absence. In some case, they also went crazy, hunting their own Pack mates on a killing spree."

Liam deliberately included these details to gain her sympathy, but Charlotte was unfazed.

'These are just rumors, Liam. Several Alphas are living perfectly normal with their marked mates and extended harems. They are not like us, where we have to wait for centuries only to get one chance to mate and have kids. You know kids are almost impossible with a marked beloved. That's why human slaves are used as breeders."

Liam was taking notes of important details about his culture. Then finally, he came to the point.

'Are you still angry with Eric? I saw him huffing in anger. Did you two fight?"

Charlotte sighed and played with her necklace,

'It wasn't a fight, I was overestimating my luck."

As Liam was curious for more, he persuaded her.

'You should have confronted him when he was marrying that Sophia. You left your spot empty and all that happened. But, fortunately no one took your place in last nine years."

'I had no ‘spot' to begin with, Liam. And confronting him then and now are same. It can not change the reality that I was just a time pass for him. I was the one blinded by the emotions not him. So, just leave it and tell me about Pack's security. I want to leave."

Schedule of patrol teams were efficient enough to open her eyes and she witnessed her plan, drowning in the ocean of fool proof security.

'Marking her will not solve the problem Eric, Charlotte has to reject her first mate."

Luna was in library with Alpha Eric. They were searching for the books about interracial couples. Luna was reading an ancient scroll about the rules of nature,

'As the vampires are blessed with the only one chance in their long life time, Goddess Sangius took pity on their loneliness and introduced human breeders for the pure blood vampires. In addition to her benevolence, Moon Goddess also paired her children with vampires to end the bitterness in these two races. First couple of vampire male and werewolf female was successful, resulting a new race hybrids, which was a proof of Heaven's recognition."

Then she forwarded the scroll to Eric.

'Hybrids and werewolves can have vampire mates as a second chance. In such cases, first mate or beloved should be dead or rejected in order to confirm the coupling of those two. Forced marking will never complete the mate-bond as well as both mates have to mark each other willingly."

'Rubbish!"

Alpha wrapped his hands around the scroll so hard that his knuckles turned white. He let out an unintelligent growl and slammed it against the far wall, breaking its seal. With his jaw clenched, he turned towards her mother,

'Your objections before snatched my love from me and now you are showing me these stupid books. I don't care about what history says. I only know that Charlotte is mine and I am going to kill anyone who will come between us."

He punched the bookshelf causing a dent in the wooden rank and swaggered out of the library.

Eric was waiting for half of the day when Beta Noah came back with news. He showed him the files regarding Charlotte's business. Alpha was going through the net profit and client details when Rick commented,

'Look, our Luna is so talented. She can definitely fulfill the duties of this post."

'Yes, indeed! She was so smart that she fooled us both and camouflaged in the human world successfully."

Eric taunted Rick, fueling his anger.

'You are the fool not me. I asked you to sign a marriage certificate or just announce her as your wife but no! You never listen to me. You made her feel like an option and didn't propose her before Sophia. You are an asshole!"

Rick was trying to guilt trip hum, so Eric blocked him. Noah handed him another file regarding Charlotte's university life, friends and at the end, that male friend 'Daniel Webber". In one glance, Eric disliked that guy and his head caught fire with Noah's statement,

'Daniel Webber was a psychiatrist in Luna's university. Then News of their affair spreaded and he was suspended due to violation of university's code of conduct. Luna is deeply attached to this guy. His family consider her their daughter-in-law."

'Enough!"

Eric banged his fist on the table and stood up.

'Lure this human to the Pack borders, he must be searching for Charlotte."

As Eric didn't eat the breakfast, 'Amy" the new omega head came to ask him,

'Luna is calling you for lunch."

Alpha refused his mother's call and inquired,

'Has my Luna eaten anything?"

She reported him,

'Sir Liam and Luna are chatting happily. They just ate lunch together."

Amy felt the burn of Alpha's gaze and chickened out, almost running away to save her life. Alpha bumped his fist at wall,

'That traitor, I will deal with him later."

Alpha stayed in his office for whole night and in the next evening, he got the most awaited news,

'That human is at the Pack borders."

His eyes glimmered with a murderous intent, he muttered in low growls.

'Let's see, who is the first one in my hit list."
