Even after an hour, Alpha and Prince Casper were squabbling with their unending heap of justifications. Charlotte's patience ran out,

'Why the genius like both of you failed to register that I am the one who has to chose. I need some space. Don't follow me."


She snatched that diary from Ramla and got up to leave. Alpha Eric growled from behind,

'You can't leave the Pack's ground and it's not a request!"

'I know. I will not leave unless I solve this soulmate jiggalo."


Charlotte spat out without turning and dashed out to find Liam. Thankfully, he was around Alpha's office, waiting for her. His train of questions pulled a hand break instantly after viewing his Master's worsening mood.

'Take me to your room."


Liam quickly guided her to a separate cabin in the heart of forest.

'My house is near the school. I personally chose this place for my permanent residence."

Liam was trying to explain her in a hurry but Charlotte felt his despair in his words. It was evident that Eric's behavior also got changed because of difference in his identity.

Liam offered her oven baked dinner and blood from fridge.

Charlotte noticed the limit of his ration which was way less than the standard amount for a sired one. Thirst for sired vampires was more deadly than the born ones but still Liam was successfully coping with this difficulty.

'You lived well in my absence. Remind me to treat you with a hunt when we leave the Pack."

Liam's eyes widened, glistening with the gratitude.

'Sure, Master!"

They shared his bedroom, refreshing the memory of his training days. Liam slept quickly as he had to go to his job tomorrow. Charlotte finally settled in her bed to read Uncle Tadd's diary.

At first page, there was an old letter pasted by Uncle. Her eyes moistened at the sight of her father's handwriting, she caressed trembling fingers over ink slowly,

'If you are reading this letter cutie pie, that means I am already dead. First of all, happy birthday my precious daughter. I hope this letter finds you in your beloved's home, the best cast scenario. If not, then my prayers are with you dear. You may have realized that there is no fun in being an adult. Tears streamed down Charlotte's eyes as she closed them, the saltines of her tears was edible to her wet lips. Only Moon's glint on the window glass was illuminating the room. She turned to the next page to read further.

'Charlotte, I am writing down all the moments that I witnessed from my childhood. It's going to be a little long but trust me, your all questions will be answered at the end of my explanation.

At the mention of her mother's name, Charlotte straightened up, her interest piqued in the Royal's history.

'All of three brothers were mated and have one son each. The eldest one, Cyrus Adino's son was killed by Alpha King and later his life was ended by King too.

Then Alpha Eric Dietor killed the youngest brother and his son. But before all this blood shed, you were born.

There was a Prophecy that the Vampire Kingdom will have a female ruler, all male heirs will be killed in wars. To avoid this absurdity, the Royal family used every method available.

In the middle of that power struggle, Scarlet turned 100 years old and recognized your father as her soulmate, marking him at the spot. This enraged the elders as well as her brothers, who felt humiliated by your father's lower status.

Dreading their opposition, Scarlet ran away with William, they took refuge in the human world. Royals didn't digest their insult and hunted them down. Running from one place to another didn't effect that couple's love, even this intensified it more.

In a year, Royals dug the ground and found them, slaughtering your mother at the first sight. Scarlet sacrificed her life to save her love and you, her only child. Before her death, sister begged her best friend 'Alora" to suppress your aura and she agreed. Ramla is that witch Alora's daughter, she also knows everything about your past.

After an year, your father came back to the Vampire Kingdom with a human girl, claiming that he had a daughter with a human wife. Royals checked you and ruled out the possibility of you being the heir of throne and demoted your father to the lowest possible rank.

I tried to ask William several times that how did your mother died but he was too scared to tell me anything. His soul was stripped away from Scarlet, his heart was weak and it was a miracle that he survived this long.

In the end, Charlotte's emotions were in a mess, her anguished sob echoing in that silent room. She covered her mouth and closed her eyelids shut, hoping that her pain will decrease but this agony was beyond her endurance level.

Suddenly, two strong arms wrapped around her, patting her back.

'Don't keep it to your heart, Charlotte. Cry your heart out, it helps."

Liam's soft voice encouraged her. She rested her head on his wide chest,

'They, they killed my mother. She sacrificed her life for me."

Charlotte's sobs was heart breaking, her tears of grievance were falling like a shower as she continued to sob piteously.

'Your mother sacrificed her life for your well-being. It's not an expensive deal at all. We can't imagine a mother's love but look, she gave birth to a savior. You inherited her power of rescue, that's how you pulled me back from the death's claws."

They stayed like this for the whole night. Main door of the cabin was knocked repeatedly but Charlotte asked them to sod off. She was in no mood to face those power thirsty leaders who were trying to court her for their personal gains.

Charlotte was dying to meet her father, so she held Liam's hand and bolted towards the Vampire Kingdom. This time guards also didn't stop her.

'Why didn't you take me with you dad, I can't live without you. I don't want to be an adult anymore. Please take me…."
