Drunk by the warmth of her kill, Charlotte leisurely walked towards the Pack gates, where Eric was already waiting for her. She totally ignored his presence and moved past him, but he grasped her arm firmly.
'Where were you?"
Charlotte took a deep breath and searched for something in her pocket.
'Take my card, its last payment slip is your answer."
She waved her credit card before his eyes and slipped it in his pocket. In an attempt to break her wrist free, she jerked her arm, but Eric didn't even budge.
'I am asking you, little one? Where were you?"
He sniffed her closely, his silver orbs turned into crimson in a blink of an eye.
'You met that bastard?"
His voice was so loud, so thunderous, that she couldn't concentrate on what he just said. A look of great bitterness swept across his face, he pulled her to his chest.
Irritation surged up inside her, Charlotte pushed him away with full force.
'I am in a good mood, don't ruin my booze, Alpha."
She placed her hand on her nose as the stench of Melinda was still fresh on him. What Eric said and growled in fury, she didn't even listen and ran away to Liam's cabin.
'Sire!"
Liam tried to talk to her, but she went straight to the bathroom and puked uncontrollably.
'I am such a fool."
Charlotte cursed herself repeatedly and took a quick shower, scrubbing herself roughly.
'I don't want that wench's scent on me."
Hating melodrama in public, she had to suppress her desire to confront Alpha for his cheating, that unexpected blow was too much for her to endure.
"This is not even betrayal. Melinda is his fated mate."
She cried her heart out as the reality dawned at her, the remnants of love crushed her heart like pointed daggers at the open display of Eric's desire. Then she slipped into night clothes and came out with swollen eyes.
No matter how clingy Liam was, he respected Charlotte's personal space and waited for her out patiently.
'Are you alright, Charlotte?"
'Physically, yes. But mentally, No."
She brought her cellphone out and called her manager.
'Don't make a public announcement about this project and my personal life. I have postponed the date of signing."
Listening to her professional tone and the previous drama in the Pack, Liam made a wild guess.
'Is this related to Eric?"
'No, it's related to me. I have just recovered that I am not in threesomes."
Liam's eyes widened in horror, his words got stuck in his throat.
'You, I mean..."
Charlotte's empty eyes made it hard for him to form a sentence, he got up and hugged her tightly.
'I am sorry, Charlotte. You were right. Let's leave!"
'Not so soon, Liam. I have sworn to avenge my misery, your friend will not get an easy escape from my vengenace."
…
After a day off, Jason was again working on the construction site when Mathew came to visit him.
'You know, what just happened in the Pack? Madam Charlotte was fighting with Alpha Eric, who was drenched in madam Melinda's scent."
The pile of bricks fell from Jason's hands.
'It's Luna, not madam, Gamma. My sire is the Luna of the Silver Moon Pack."
He hissed at Mathew, ready to tear him apart.
'It's Luna Lily's order to call them Madams. I can't go against her command. Anyhow, didn't you enjoy this news? I bet I am the first one to tell you this."
Mathew's teeth were on display with matchless excitement, anticipating Jason's thrill about this latest gossip.
'I am not interested in gossip anymore."
Although, he was dying to ask for more, but he feigned ignorance and resumed his work.
'Are you sick?"
Mathew stepped forward and placed his hand on his forehead.
'It's not fever."
His worried voice was laced with concern. Jason jumped back to avoid Mathew's touch.
'Sired vampires don't fall sick. We just die."
Clutching him to his chest, Mathew growled so loudly that Jason had to cover his ears.
'Sired one can die due to brain bleed. Lower your voice, Gamma."
Jason made a face at him, as he fished out of his embrace instantly.
'Why are you calling me Gamma? Say my name."
Mathew requested pitifully. His puppy eyes captured Jason's mind, but he shrugged it off.
'I will call you whatever I want. Go away! You are hindering my work."
Mathew sat down on the ground, observing him during work.
'You never like to work, are you using this excuse to push me away?"
'So thoughtful!"
Jason mumbles under his breath and shouted his reply from some distance.
'I am not lazy, you are accusing me wrongly."
He came back to pick up iron rods and inquired.
'Don't you have any work? Apparently, your Alpha is busy with his slut."
'Mind your words, Jason!"
Mathew's hand flew to his mouth to muffle the incoming growl.
'Why? I am not saying anything wrong. Your Alpha almost killed our Prince to be with my sire and now, he is whoring around with his so-called first mate. Are we vampires a joke for you werewolves?"
Jason rolled his nonexistent sleeves (as he was wearing a half-sleeve t-shirt) and faced Mathew ferociously.
'You are also like your Alpha, annoying and selfish."
Mathew got panicked at their first fight, he realized that he was underestimating Jason's temper.
'You are wearing my gifted shirt, do you like any other stuff besides this?"
Just to change the topic, he admired the way Jason was looking.
'This t-shirt is looking so good on you. Just like I thought while I was buying this from the store."
'This is mine now, and of course, every fashion suits me."
Jason flared his nostrils and turned his back on Mathew.
'So, he went to buy this in person."
He bit his lips as a silly smile appeared on his face.
'I bought the things according to the salesman's suggestion. I will take you to the store next time so that you can buy whatever you want."
Mathew's generous offer startled Jason.
'Are you planning on breaking my other arm?"
He immediately hid his arms behind him.
'You got me wrong. I will never hurt you, Jay."
Jason felt a pit in his stomach, this nickname sent an electric jolt down his spine.
'You have always hurt me, Gamma. And more precisely, you are the only problem in my life right now. So please, leave me alone. This favor is enough for me." ni
Getting hurt by Jason's blunt approach, Mathew shot up.
'What's the matter, Jay? When I was rude with you, you hated me and I can understand that, but now, when I am trying to be on good terms with you, you are not giving me a chance. This is unreasonable."
Jason crossed his arms on his chest.
'It is what it is, Gamma, and don't call me Jay. It's Jason for you."
He glared at Mathew and stomped out of the construction site, fuming in anger.
Jason is such an ingrate, rude, arrogant and so on!
The list of Gamma Mathew's complaints was as long as the night in the Silver Moon Pack
