After arguing with Rick the whole night, Alpha Eric was drinking angrily in the morning for his headache.

'You work so hard, baby. Eat something, you can't stay hungry for so long."

'I am not hungry, Maddy."

Eric softly refused her offer.


'I have a meeting to attend at 8:30 am. Please spend some time with Mom."

He held her delicate hand and kissed its back.


'You look tired baby, can I do something to take off the load?"

Melinda's slender fingers slipped into Eric's shirt, she rubbed her mark teasingly.

'Not now, Maddy. Later!"

Eric raised his eyes and cupped her face with his hands.

'Don't push yourself too hard, you need to recover first."

Eric's concerned tone spread a gleeful grin on Melinda's face.

'I am helpless before your charm baby, I can't get enough of it."

She leaned in for a kiss, but Eric pulled her in his lap.

'Why don't you go out for shopping today? I will see you in the evening. I am expecting visitors in my office."

Eric's excuse finally got registered by Melinda's persistent brain. She got up reluctantly.

'I will wait for you in the evening."

She kissed his forehead and left, her next destination was Liam's cabin.

Melinda saw Charlotte practicing with Liam, she cleared her throat to get their attention.

'There is a medicine for sore throat in my vanity bag. Please give it to her."

Charlotte seriously ordered to Liam, who bowed his head.

'Yes, sire!"

'I am not here for some medicine, Star!"

Melinda snapped, offended by their hidden mockery.

'Then state your purpose quickly, I am not free like you."

Charlotte removed bandages from her hands and turned to face her.

'This is my last warning to you, Star. Pack your stuff and leave the Pack."

Charlotte looked at her for a moment and broke into a fit of laughter.

'I am so sorry, Maddy, but it was hilarious. Can you please come again?"

Liam peeped through the door at them, totally satisfied with Melinda's shocked expressions. She clenched her fists and stalked towards Charlotte slowly.

'Eric will announce a Luna Ceremony for me very soon. I will love to kick you out after taking over the Silver Moon Pack."

She pointed her finger at Charlotte and huffed in anger.

'Ask your Eric to sign a rejection letter for me. Because, last time I checked, he was still obsessed with me."

Melinda stomped her feet and stormed out of the forest, cursing Charlotte in her heart.

'That's what my savior wants, your rejection letter, Charlotte Adino. And I am bound to complete this task as soon as possible."

Prince Casper was packing for his flight when he heard an alarming siren in the whole Castle.

'Dad!"

He left his bags and rushed towards the King's chamber. There was chaos in the surroundings.

'His Majesty, King Bahman is dead."

'No!"

Prince Casper flew opened the door and barged into the room, where servants were kneeling before the King's bed.

'Father lord!"

He screamed and hugged his father's body.

'You can't do this to me, father lord. I can't think about living without you."

Senior Court officials had to arrange the Royal funeral as Prince Casper wasn't in his right mind. He was asking everyone about his father's sudden death.

'His Majesty has lost a lot of energy in healing you. Then his blood fasting made him weak. This is the only possible reason for the King's sudden demise."

'Father lord died because of me?"

Casper cried out, his voice laced with guilt.

'Parents sacrifice their lives happily for their kids, Prince. King Bahman did what every parent would do in his place."

Throughout the funeral, Casper wailed like a mourning widow for his father.

'You saved me from every possible damage at the expense of your life. You were a great father, Dad."

He uttered his heartfelt emotions at his last burying ritual.

'I cried when you passed away, I still cry today. Although, I loved you dearly, I could not make you stay.

A golden heart has stopped beating, hardworking hands are at rest. Goddess has broken my heat just to prove that only SHE can take the best.

The roses will accompany you to the Heaven, where all the good ones stay forever."

Senior official gave the emotional speech at the funeral ceremony, every eye was moist at their favorite King's departure.

After the ceremony, all the noble and responsible high-ranking citizens gathered in the City hall, and held a meeting to discuss the Vampire Kingdom's future.

'Late King Bahman was a compassionate soul, he worked tirelessly for our welfare.

But we need a new leadership right now. Power thirsty wolves have fixed their evil eyes on our throne, they will use this chance to attack us."

Commander Dylan started a meeting with great concern.

'We have a leader, friends. There is no need to search for him. In his will, the late King has clearly mentioned that he wants Crown Prince Casper to be the next King."

Adam showed the signed will of the King Bahman for reference.

'But what about the prophecy? It clearly states that we will have a Queen eventually."

As a result of this meeting, Prince Casper was crowned as a King in just two days. The weight of responsibilities didn't let him grieve for his loss properly.

Wearing the gold crown of the King, Casper swore in his heart.

News of the sudden death of King Bahman and the new King's coronation spread in the shifter's community like a wild forest fire.

Alpha Eric specially appointed guards around Liam's cabin to restrict Charlotte's movements.

As she had a doubt that Eric was monitoring her phone records, she used Liam's cellphone to send a condolence message to Casper.

Although, she didn't get any response (which she didn't mind), Charlotte felt her heart at ease. Casper was her soulmate but as he said, they were friends before.

Reminiscing their good time, Charlotte was sipping her coffee, thinking about an escape plan to visit Casper in person.

Her trail of thoughts was halted by Liam, who was bearing a Pack announcement. He stepped ahead, panting and breathless.
