Eric's changed behavior was out of her mind, Charlotte couldn't even react to this new version of Alpha. He turned into a sex starved beast overnight, bothering her without thinking about day and night.

'Eric has bumped his head with the wall."


This was the only explanation her tiny brain could offer her. She took a walk in the morning before he could pounce on her like his newfound habit, Amy and Liam welcomed her outside.

'Would you like to take a tour to the women's wing? Alpha's mother is busy with the guests right now."

As Charlotte was not in the mood to see her mother-in-law so early in the morning, she agreed to go with Amy.


'I have to attend classes."

Liam left shortly after for the academy, leaving Charlotte in the company of several She-wolves.


'Good morning, Luna!"

This continuous greeting irked her, but she didn't reveal it, as breaking the innocent Pack member's heart was not her goal.

'This is maternity ward, Luna. Julia is giving birth right now."

Curious to witness the childbirth of the werewolf species, Charlotte joined the nurses and female OBGYN, that screaming lady instantly hushed seeing her Luna in the delivery room.

'Gree…"

She tried to bow her head; Charlotte instantly stopped her.

'Relax. Focus on your baby."

It was disappointing for her to see that she-wolves also go through the same process as vampires. Only their gestation period was shorter than theirs.

'It's a boy."

The mid-wife bathed the baby and gave him to his mother, but Julia requested,

'Please take him in your arms, Luna. I want him to open his eyes in our Luna's embrace."

Charlotte's heart brimmed with the flowing emotions of love and respect; the mid-wife added to Julia's statement.

'It's also great for our Pack. The Moon Goddess will bless you with a son soon, Luna."

Startled by this simple wishing, Charlotte's stomach tightened, as the realization dawned on her.

'So, it's all for an heir."

She gave the baby back to his mother and left with a heavy heart, a sense of emptiness prevailed in her heart.

'What was I even thinking?"

She chuckled and brought out her cellphone, this matter needed to be solved on urgent basis.

'I have sent you message, Ramla. How much it would cost me?"

Although Ramla was hesitant to take Charlotte's money, she paid her two thousand dollars. She didn't make her wait any longer and sent the bottle immediately (through magic), living up to her name.

After receiving that special medicine from Ramla, Charlotte's heart was at peace, her biggest worry was resolved without any hitch. But her inner satisfaction didn't last longer. Eric found out about it within the two days of usage.

'You are using contraception?"

His false accusation baffled her, she brushed off his suspicion.

'Even though I am an outsider, I also know that there is no contraception in the Werewolf world. It's the Moon Goddess will to bless the couples with kids."

She snatched the bottle from his hand and put it back in the drawer.

'It's for my venom. I don't want to pass my genes to your kids."

Charlotte turned towards Eric for some kind of violent response, but he was gone, she suspected that he didn't even listen to her reply in haste.

'Wired!"

She shrugged her shoulders and completed her work urgently, as the time after 9:00 pm was of Eric's now. She looked at the clock, it was 10:00 pm, and there was no sign of Alpha until now.

'Is he okay?"

She dismissed the possibility of him being hurt as the legendary mate-bond would inform her, only strange unease enveloped around her whole existence.

'I should sleep now."

Charlotte seized this golden opportunity and went to sleep, as her schedule was disturbed due to this sudden change.

'Again?"

In the next week, Charlotte didn't refuse his request for physical intimacy, but Alpha Eric felt the strain between them. His most favorite feeling was now a duty, mere physical instruction for an heir.

The hardest part was to see the acrimony in her eyes, banging his head with a wooden log stressed him out. Eric's eyes welled up, as Charlotte rolled over and left every time, like it wasn't their intimate moment, just a one-night stand.

Eric leaned against the back of the office chair and clasped his hands behind his head.

'I have signed the papers of the Pack's ownership in case I don't survive in the next war. You know that my life is always like this. Death never scares me, but securing my Pack's future is my duty. Little one is the best candidate to take over the Pack after me."

'Don't spit nonsense, Eric. May the Goddess bless you with immortality."

Luna Lily trembled at the mere mention of Eric's death, she hugged his son.

'Giving up your business for feelings is not a wise decision. Fifty-five percent is too much."

Eric grabbed his mother's hands like a true filial son and placed them over his eyes.

'I have spent half of my life in the battlegrounds. And with my current status, it would be my life in the future too. All praise to the Moon Goddess, she graced me with a woman who is strong, independent and self-sufficient enough to take care of everything alone.
