'We are leaving for the Vampire Kingdom in one hour. Get ready."

Eric announced it in the kitchen, Charlotte's breakfast making hands frozen for a moment.


'You have not slept for the last twenty-four hours, Eric. Take a rest."

She poured the egg mixture in the frying pan and brushed off his serious tone.

'No, we will go."


He disregarded the team of omega servants and hugged her from behind.

'It's already so hot in the kitchen, Eric. Don't bother me."


Charlotte pushed him away and pointed at him with a spatula.

'Go and sit on the table. I will serve the breakfast."

'Why is your cellphone switched off? I couldn't email to your ID?"

They sat on the corner table for secrecy, Eric shot questions in a quick session.

'You wanted to go to the Vampire Kingdom yesterday, why not now?"

Charlotte sipped her black coffee calmly, and savored its taste for a while.

'I have switched off my cell phone and closed my work laptop too. I don't have much time in my daily routine.

And yes, it was yesterday. Now, Ramla's issue is our priority. There's no time to waste."

'You did this, dud."

Rick snarled at him, contributing his share in the flaring guilt.

'I visited them before, it will take twenty-four hours to finally understand the complications of this stuff.

Investigation about a possible spy and the border's security management is done. I am free today."

He held her hand, and apologized sincerely.

'I am sorry that I was rude yesterday. It will not happen again."

Eric's earnest tone subsided her fury, Charlotte gulped down the hot coffee in one go.

'I will complete my scheduled work and see you after lunch."

'How many bags are left?"

When Orion came with multiple bags for the third time, Eric ran out if patience and opened some out of curiosity.

'Are we going to open a kid's shop there?"

He glanced at Charlotte, who was dressed in her signature white t-shirt and jeans.

'My best friend is pregnant, we are going to congratulate her."

She didn't lift her head up while sorting out the documents in her bag and asked.

'Do you have your ID in your wallet?"

'Why?"

As Eric replied her with a question of his own, Charlotte slipped her hand directly into his pant's pocket and retrieved his wallet.

'Here it is. We will need it at the border."

Under the countless blessings of Madam Lily, they left for the Vampire Kingdom.

'I would love to come with you, but the situation in the Pack is not favorable. Please pay my respect to your parents."

Lily handed them a white rose bouquet, which convinced Charlotte that her mother-in-law was not as bad as she predicted.

On the contrary, Eric also remembered that his mate had parents in her hometown.

'Will you take me to your parent's graves?"

He inquired Charlotte, who was damn busy in her cellphone.

'Grave. They are buried together."

Her distraught face pained his heart severely, Alpha tried to dissipate the sadness.

'Is your friend mated?"

Charlotte glared at him.

'No, she was trying to get pregnant alone. What kind of question is this, Eric? I don't like her mate, so stay away from him."

In fifteen minutes drive, Charlotte introduced Ava's family in short and showed their pictures.

'This is our mate's family. We have to make a good impression."

Rick made him conscious about his look, Eric felt nervous for the first time before meeting anyone.

'They cannot reject me. We are a mated couple."

Rick really behaved like a mean girl and showed him countless scenes in which they kicked him out for mistreating their daughter, and he couldn't do anything against the entire Vampire race.

'Slow down, Eric. Do you want to bump into the check post?"

Charlotte literally shook him, bringing him back to reality.

'You, rascal!"

Eric scolded his wolf, who was rolling over while laughing at him. He waited for Charlotte patiently, who was answering different security questions.

'I wonder what are they hiding in their land?"

Charlotte heard this loud query from a far and replied to him when she came back in the car.

'These check posts are because of you. The Late Vampire King did this so that they could have enough time to escape in case of your attack."

'Am I a stupid to attack them from the front door?"

Eric didn't like the notion of being globally feared, when he was a peacemaker in his eyes.

'Stop here."

Charlotte jumped out of the car after the third check post and hugged a man on the roadside.

'You made it, my Princess."

It took him only a second to tear them apart, his deafening growl alerted the soldiers at the gate.

'Meet Uncle Tadd, Eric."

'There goes our first impression."

Rick placed his head on his paws and whispered, that middle-aged vampire was visibly disturbed after his marvelous introduction.

'Welcome, my son. Everyone is waiting for us."

Uncle Tadd guided Eric towards his house, he was surprised to see that small house.

'This is an omega's cabin."

Thankfully, no one heard his comment, as Ava and Aunt sandwiched Charlotte in a tight hug.

'I apologize for being late."

'Coming late is better than not coming. Come on in!"

Aunt placed her hand on Eric's head, and they settled in the TV lounge, Eric whispered in Charlotte's ear.

'See, a female can wear beautiful dresses even in the pregnancy. T-shirt and jeans is not a standard outfit."

Charlotte surpassed the urge to yell at Eric and presented them gifts, but Ava's eyes were fixed on Alpha. She went inside and brought out a book.

'You are quite opposite from what we saw in the textbooks. No wonder Charlotte wanted to repay you so eagerly."

Eric's eyes popped out to see a hideous, growling monster in the book, named as Alpha Eric in the great war.

'I didn't look that bad in teen aging."

'Yes, we can see that."

Allen pressed Ava's arm and walked out of the house, they all broke into a fit of laughter.

'You have tamed him well, Ava. Sorry, but Allen was a douche bag when I met him last time."

Ava stretched her arms and got relaxed on the couch.

'All the men are the same. Just we have to train them according to our choices."

As conversation was going to the south, Uncle Tadd got up.

'I am going to buy ration. Will you join me, my son?"

Although Eric didn't want to leave Charlotte's side, the love, and purity of Uncle's voice hypnotized him.

'Yes!"

He blurted out under the spell of his affection, it was a long time when a man has called him 'Son".

'What about you, Charlotte?"

The market was in ten miles radius of Ava's home, so Eric was getting live broadcast of gossips there.

'What about you, Star?"

'Don't ask!"

His ears perked up at his mate's exhausted tone, the normal life in the Vampire town was also hitting his brain like a tsunami.

It was hard for him to digest that they had shops and restaurants like his own Pack, when he imagined blood and crying humans on streets. The only difference was the simplicity and prices of the goods.

'Living with an Alpha is nerve-racking and congratulations to me, I chose it for myself."

Eric wanted to run back and confront Charlotte for this rudeness.

Uncle Tadd thought that Eric was shocked to see the three bags of meat in just twenty dollars, so he clarified quickly.

The shop of blood rations was away from the house, so he noted in his mind to demand for an explanation later.

But the next thing in the shop was an unfortunate incident, where shopkeeper's fragile neck was clutched in Eric's claws.

'Hundred dollars for fifty milliliter blood? To whom you are fooling?"

The vampire lord guessed from the silver hair that he was Alpha Eric, he peed with his parts in horror.

'Everything is free. Take whatever you want?"

Uncle Tadd filled his basket with rations, several Lyns gathered around Eric.

'No one ever bothered to help us, Alpha. This pricing is only for Lyns, the shop for high ups have free produce and no specifications for rations."

'Don't worry, it will be solved on an urgent basis."

Eric sent a text to Beta Noah about the new rules in the Vampire Kingdom, a whisper slithered in his ears on the way back.

'You are so lucky, Star. Allen is so selfish in bed."

Ava's miserable tone brought a smile to Eric's face, he really liked the naughty version of Charlotte.

'Eric knows how to treat a woman. Even when I was away, I couldn't bear to touch another man. He has spoiled my habits. Oh my goddess, Eric is my addiction."
