"McDonalds?!" I exclaimed excitedly as Charlotte places the bag in front of me

"You wouldn't shut up about their cheese burgers last night" Charlotte says with an eye roll before smiles


I wrap my arms tightly around her neck before I place my cheek on her shoulder. She tenses before she relaxes and wraps her arms around my waist.

"Awww" I hear Kayden coo as he sits across from us which causes me to pull away from Charlotte with a laugh

"I was just hugging her" I say with an eye roll at his raised eyebrow


I take out the two cheeseburgers before unwrapping one and biting into it.

"Oh my god" I moan as the taste explodes on my tastebuds


"Pg-13, Aspen" Charlotte whispers near my ear which causes me to blush. I continue to eat my burger until it's gone.

"I'm going to the bathroom, I'll meet you in class" I say to Kayden and Charlotte as I stand up since we only have five minutes of lunch left

"Do you need me to come with you?" Charlotte asks

"No, it's okay. I'll be quick" I say with a smile before I walk out of the cafeteria doors

I walk towards the bathroom before opening the door and washing my hands.

After washing my hands I dry them off and walk out of the bathroom.

As I'm walking past the dozens of lockers I suddenly get pushed into one. I hit the side of my head and my ribs before I fall into a ball on the floor.

Shit, that hurt.

"You know, most people would be able to hear when someone is following them" I hear a familiar voice say as they walk in front of my crouched body

"M-Maddie?" I gasp out as I continue to clutch my ribs

"Ding ding ding, correct" she says with an amused voice before she kneels in front of me

"You always seem to think that I'm kidding when I say stay away from her" she says with an amused tone

"She's my best friend" I say in a 'duh' tone

I swear this chick is psychotic.

She scowls at me before standing up and kicking me. I move out of the way last second which causes her to kick the lockers.

She doesn't even flinch.

"You stole her from me," she say as she stomps after my crawling body

"Her and I were supposed to spend the rest of our lives together" she says loudly

"How is this my fault?!" I ask as my back hits a wall

You've got to be kidding me!

"You ruined my ten year plan," she yells as she glares down at me

"Now, you're going to pay for it" she says before she yanks me up by my hair and knees me in the rib

Ouch!

She uses all of her muscles to harshly push me into the concrete wall. I hit my head which makes my vision go blurry as I fall to the ground.

"Charlotte needs a strong girlfriend," she says before she kicks me in the stomach

Come on, Aspen.

Just one kick.

"That obviously isn't you" she says

I go to punch her but my arm doesn't move. I continue to try and punch her, even though my arm feels like it's on fire.

I start to feel dizzy as black dot dance in my vision.

Before I black out I see Charlotte punch Maddie in the nose.

She drops to her knees beside my body with panic clear in her face.

"Shit Aspen, can you hear me?" She asks with wide eyes

I slowly close my heavy eyelids.

"Aspen, no!" She yells as she lift my face

"Don't fall asleep, don't you dare fall asleep" She says

I don't respond as the darkness consumes me.
