'Ascian please..'
"Fuck!"
With a curse, Ascian opened his eyes. There was no Mirela, even though he heard her voice she was not there. As it always has in the past years. He looked at his surroundings and sat up from where he was laying on. As he sat, he felt a sharp pain through his shoulders making him groan. He clenched his jaws and looked at his shoulder, his body was covered with his own blood. The blood on his shoulder was already dried.
Letting out a deep sigh, he tried to get up but he couldn't because his legs were also injured. It was broad daylight and he didn't know how many days he was unconscious but he's glad because he's still alive. Thinking about Ahren, he sighed in relief, he knew that Ahren had already left the forest.
Ascian stayed like that for a while and slowly got up from the ground ignoring the fact that he was badly injured. His hair was messy, his eyes were red and his claws were as if he wanted to hunt someone. He looked like a wild beast who was waiting for his prey. He dragged himself towards where he heard the sound of water.
Stopping at the river path, he sighed in relief as he walked toward it and slowly started to wash his body. He cleaned his body and washed away all the blood as he looked at the wounds on his both shoulder and chest. Ascian groaned and looked at the claws mark on his chest as he remembered Ahren's little body. He also got a scar, because of something that happened.
Letting out a sigh, he got up from the ground and walked scanning his surroundings. The wounds on his legs were already healing. Seeing a dagger on the ground, he bent down and took it. He didn't have a weapon with him, even though he didn't want a weapon to protect himself, he was somewhat weak now. He was injured and he wanted to something to protect himself from the deadly things that could happen inside of the forest.
He walked wanting to find a path which could lead him out of the forest, but suddenly he heard a sound of bushes moving. He stopped his actions and stared at the place as he prepared himself for a fight, his eyes turned cold and his claws were already prepared to kill his opponent.
Even if he was weak, he didn't give a damn because he knew how to tame the creatures in this forest. Then suddenly his nose filled with a familiar milky scent and his heart stopped for a moment as he looked at Ahren who appeared in front of him. He was both shocked and surprised to see him. He was utterly speechless.
"Ahren?" he spoke as he watched his little son. Then Ahren looked at him and smiled with a sigh in relief. Then he jogged towards him and hugged his legs as he looked up at him with a small smile on his face.
"I knew daddy is okay," he cutely said and smiled at Ascian. Ascian didn't have words, he just watched him without telling or doing anything. His mind was filled with countless questions. Didn't he leave? But how come he was wearing clothes which he didn't bring?
"Ahren? Didn't you leave?" he asked with a strict voice.
Then his little face covered with both fear and guilt as he looked up at him. He pouted his lips and then bit them looking at him. He looked so brave when he came there but now, he's looking at him as if he was weak and innocent. Ahren really knew how to act, when he felt Ascian was angry, he did nothing but looked at him innocently which made Ascian remember Mirela's face.
"I.. came again daddy. Momma was crying so I came" Ascian's heart tightened hearing him. He sighed and patted his little head as he looked around them. Ahren looked so clean, didn't anything happen to him while he was searching for him? And how the hell did this kid find him and come here?
"Well, now did you tell momma before leaving?" he asked. He already knew the answer but he wanted to know it from his mouth. If he ever told Mirela that he's going back here, she would never let him do that because she really didn't like to let Ahren come here even with him.
"Daddy you know it. Momma was sleeping" he answered and sighed. Of course, he was cunning at this age. Ascian was not like this. He listened to his face but looked at this little guy in front of him. Stubborn as hell.
"Alright, but don't call me if she hits you! I will not stop her hitting you" he chuckled and said as he took his little arm. Ahren looked up at him helplessly and forcefully smiled, Ascian forced himself not to laugh seeing his fear filled face. He was just scared of Mirela.
"Ahren, this should be the first and last time! You got it?" he warned Ahren as he looked at his face. He really didn't expect him to come again and his heart still beating fucking fast with fear if anything happened to him while he was searching for him.
He couldn't understand how he survived until here but he was scared. As a father, he would not lose his only son and he couldn't even think anything beyond that.
"I won't daddy" he looked up at Ascian and smiled as he tightened the grip he had with Ascian's arm. With a smile, Asican nodded at him as he walked away. But suddenly, he heard a familiar sound which he couldn't remember ever since he left his mother there to die.
"Ahren, jump into the water. Hurry up!" he whispered and immediately took Ahren towards the river path as he helped Ahren to jump into the water. After he was soaked, Ascian also jumped into the water.
He gritted his teeth as he felt the pain of his wounds. He wrapped his one arm around Ahren's body and pulled him closer as he made him breath outside of the water. They were soaked from water, but Ascian was looking at the place where he heard sounds.
His heart was beating fast, he was glad that Ahren came to him. If not.. He didn't even want to think about it. Hugging Ahren's tightly, he watched as he saw two small creatures run towards the river path but they stopped feeling water. They were scared of water. Both creatures acted as if they were following something which they missed.
"Fuck!" Ascian cursed under his breath as he found that the two creatures were following Ahren. For the first time in his life, he thanked the moon goddess for making Ahren come to him quickly.
"Ahren, if ever you had to come here without me, keep this in your mind. You heard the weird sound we heard before right? That sound was coming from those creatures and so if you ever heard it, just run until you find water. You should soak in the water and then they can't see you."
"These creatures are scared of water, so don't ever fight against them because they have too many of them. So just hide if not throw water at them" he explained to Ahren as he looked at the two creatures who were walking everywhere as if they lost their chance to have a good meal.
"I will keep this in my mind daddy" Ahren whispered back at Ascian as he looked at the creatures in front of him carefully. They were small and they were walking with their two legs while their two hands were long. They looked scary and disgusting at the same time with their grey body.
Taking a deep breath, Ahren looked at Ascian and moved closer to him as he felt fear suddenly. He wanted to stay closer to his daddy so nothing would happen to him. Following Ascian's gaze, he again looked at the both creatures and saw they were fighting with each other.
One creature somehow managed to kill the other one who was with them and then he just simply started to eat the dead creatures ignoring the fact that they were the same kind.
"World is like that, don't ever trust anyone other than your momma and me" Ascian said as he looked at Ahren. This was the reality of nature and he wanted to teach his son everything because Mirela will never be able to let him see the true side of the world.
