Atarah looked at the woman who was in front of her, she was breathtakingly gorgeous. She looked still so young even if she had told her the true age of hers. She couldn't believe that it was Ahren Lucas's mother. She had heard that Ahren's mother died while saving his father. That means saving Alpha Ascian.
But to her surprise, here she is. So alive and so well. Looking at her face, Atarah knew that she was hurt inside of her. Atarah remembered the things she said to Demir earlier before taking her to the room now she's staying. The way she asked about Ahren and the way she smiled hearing about him, Atarah's heart tightened. She had lived eighteen years without her son and mate.
A shiver ran through her body with that thought and she shook her head. Looking at Mirela's face again, she smiled with the thought that she was not a bastard like Ahren. She was kind and gentle. And especially, she was just treating her well. Then she let out a deep sigh and parted her lips to speak.
"Do we have a way to escape from here?" Atarah asked. Then Mirela looked at her and waited for a while before smiling. Seeing her smile, Atarah thought that there must be a way but soon her hopes collapsed in front of her.
"There's no way to escape from here Atarah. I tried for eighteen years. That means almost two decades. We can't go out from here if someone doesn't come from outside and help us" she muttered, making Atarah's heart go numb. She lowered her head and let out a deep sigh not knowing what to do.
"Will there be someone?" she asked Mirela with a smile. Then she looked at her. Mirela's eyes were filled with tears as if she was expecting someone to come and get her but at the same time, she was giving up on that idea slowly.
"Maybe Ahren will come to get you" wiping her tears, she looked at Atarah and said. Thinking about Ahren, Atarah's heart tightened. How come? Will he really come for her even after everything? She didn't believe but at the same time, she wanted to believe that he would come too. She just simply wanted to escape from these vampires.
"I don't know. We met for one time and I don't know if he would come or not" she muttered with a smile, then looked at Mirela's face. She didn't know how to deal with this thing. She can't accept Ahren because he was the man who killed her parents and at the same time, she wanted him too.
"Well, let's see! He will come and he needs you" Mirela muttered with a smile before walking towards the table inside of her room and grabbed an apple with her. Then she came and gave it to Atarah.
"Eat this Atarah, I'll come with medicine for your face." with that Mirela walked away. Seeing her leaving, Atarah remembered her mother. No one had ever treated her gently after her parents' death. Mirela was the only one. Tears filled in her eyes, she took a bite of the apple and clutched her dress tightly.
"There's no need to cry Atarah. Just like you, I was also helpless when I came here. You have me, but I have no one. I was pushed into this room and that's all." walking towards her, Mirela sat on the bed again.
"Lift your face" she smiled and said as Atarah did what she asked. Then she let Mirela treat the wound on her face which was created by her brother. She hissed from pain as Mirela cleaned her wounds but enduring the pain she let her do it.
After Mirela was done with it, she looked at Atarah and smiled before placing the medicine aside. Then she watched Atarah's pretty face for a while and let out a deep sigh with the thought of Demir hurting this innocent girl. She never expected that he would bring Ahren's mate here. Even if he warned her before telling that, she thought it would never happen until she saw Atarah here. With a heart throbbing pain, she moved away from Atarah and placed the medicine aside.
"Don't let anyone touch you Atarah. You're my son's mate and no one should touch you other than him. If any vampire tries to touch, just simply dig your nails into their necks. For these eighteen years, I have killed more than twenty vampires."
Atarah's heart froze. She looked at Mirela with wide eyes and then she shook her head not knowing how to believe her words. Killed more than twenty vampires? Woah… Atarah immediately got up from the bed and jogged towards Mirela with a smile.
"Why don't we both kill everyone and leave here? I can kill, my wolf is urged to kill vampires" she said to Mirela wrapping her arm around Mirela's. Hearing what Atarah said, Mirela's eyes curled upwards to a smile. She shook her head and patted Atarah's head.
"We can't do that Atarah. There are so many of them and especially, we can't do anything with Demir. Demir never punished me or told me anything when I killed the men who tried to touch me. He just emotionlessly watched me and walked away."
"Until now, he had never touched me intimately knowing that my wolf could kill him too." Atarah nodded at Mirela as she said those things. Eighteen years was not simple at all and especially with vampires. Taking a deep breath, she looked around the room. It was a big room and simply like a house because it had everything.
A kitchen was also there for her to cook and eat. No wonder why that was, because werewolves don't eat what vampires eat so she had cooked for herself. But Atarah couldn't understand that Demir had given Mirela everything. He was just keeping her as a queen here. Giving her everything she needed.
"Demir never hurt you?" Atarah asked, making Mirela's face turn pale. She lowered her head with an extremely hurt face and then waited for a while before talking. Atarah never expected an answer like what she said.
"He hurt me by killing the child in my womb years ago. He just simply forced me to drink abortion medicine. I never forgive him" a reflective shudder ran through her body with what Mirela said. She couldn't believe her ears… abortion medicine? It can make a woman never give birth to children. Did he really do that?
"That's all he did. After that he never hurt me physically, he just let me live here without any trouble" she said wiping her tears and then walked towards the dressing room. Taking out a simple dress, she gave it to Atarah. Then smiled at her.
"Take a shower. From now on we have to live here. I hope that even if I couldn't leave here, you will get a chance to live because Ahren needs you" Atarah took the dress she gave her and lowered her head with a small smile. She didn't know anything. Ahren needs her? But that's impossible to be with him because she can't just simply be with her parents' murder.
"Let's leave together" Atarah muttered before walking towards the washroom and entering it. She was happy that Mirela was treating her well and at the same time she was sad with the fact that she would never be able to escape from here.
Ahren would never come for her and he would just have another woman instead of her. That's what her mind told her. She can't keep hopes and she will not keep hopes. Her life was always hopeless and meaningless with everything that happened around her so she would not believe in anything anymore.
She has been fated to be in this situation ever since she was born. So there was no way for her to escape from her fate.
