VANESSA

As I walked back to my bedroom, I couldn't help but feel a sense of relief wash over me. I had escaped Alpha Axel's chambers without having to face whatever consequences he had in store for me.

But as I opened the door to my bedroom, I was greeted by the sight of Emilia and Sandra sitting on my bed, their faces filled with concern.

"Vanessa, what's going on?" Emilia asked, her voice soft. "You look like you've seen a ghost."

I sighed, feeling a surge of frustration. "It's just Alpha Axel," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. "He's been acting so strangely towards me lately. And now he's declared me his concubine."

Sandra's eyes widened in shock. "What? That's ridiculous! You're not his concubine, Vanessa."

I shook my head, feeling a lump form in my throat. "I don't know what to think, Sandra. I feel like I'm trapped in some kind of nightmare."

Emilia reached out and took my hand, her touch warm and comforting. "We're here for you, Vanessa. We'll get through this together."

I smiled weakly, feeling a surge of gratitude towards my friends. "Thanks, guys. I don't know what I would do without you."

As we sat there in silence, I couldn't help but think about Alpha Axel's strange behavior towards me. Why was he acting this way? What did he want from me?

And then, as if on cue, there was a knock at the door. I felt a surge of fear, thinking that it might be Alpha Axel come to claim me as his concubine.

But when I opened the door, I was greeted by the sight of Michael, his face filled with concern.

"Vanessa, I heard what happened," he said, his voice soft. "I'm so sorry. I had no idea Alpha Axel was going to declare you his concubine."

I sighed, feeling a surge of frustration. "It's not your fault, Michael. I just don't understand what's going on."

Michael nodded, his eyes filled with understanding. "I know, Vanessa. But I'm here for you. We'll get through this together."

I smiled weakly, feeling a surge of gratitude towards Michael. "Thanks, Michael. That means a lot to me."

As we stood there in silence, I couldn't help but think about the strange turn of events that had led me to this point. From being a lowly maid to being declared the concubine of the Alpha, it was all so surreal.

But as I looked into Michael's eyes, I knew that I wasn't alone. I had my friends, and together, we would face whatever challenges lay ahead.

As I walked back to my bedroom, I couldn't help but feel a sense of relief wash over me. I had escaped Alpha Axel's chambers without having to face him, at least for now.

"Guys, I almost forgot. There's a dinner tonight, just for the service men and women who helped with the event. We should go, it could be fun."

Emilia and Sandra nodded, their faces lighting up with excitement. "Yeah, let's go," Emilia said, her voice enthusiastic. "It'll be a great chance to relax and have some fun."

I smiled, feeling a surge of gratitude towards my friends. No matter what lay ahead, I knew that I could face it with them by my side.

And so, we got ready for the dinner, our hearts filled with excitement and anticipation. We didn't know what the night held, but we knew that we would face it together, as friends.

As we made our way to the palace hall, I couldn't help but feel a sense of wonder at the beauty of the castle. The hall was filled with long tables, laden with food and drink, and the sound of laughter and music filled the air.

We found a table and sat down, our plates filled with delicious food. I looked around, taking in the sights and sounds of the hall, and I felt a sense of peace wash over me.

Maybe, just maybe, this night would be a chance for me to forget about my worries and fears, and just enjoy the company of my friends.

But as I looked around, I couldn't help but notice the strange glances that some of the other servants were giving me. They seemed to be whispering and pointing, their eyes fixed on me with a mixture of curiosity and suspicion.

I felt a surge of unease at their glances, my heart racing with anxiety. What did they know that I didn't? What secrets were they hiding?

As I made my way through the crowded hall, I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. The other servants were whispering and pointing, their eyes fixed on me with a mixture of curiosity and suspicion.

I knew that they were gossiping about me, about my new position as Alpha Axel's concubine. I could feel their jealousy, their resentment, like a palpable force in the air.

"Hey, Vanessa, congratulations are in order, I hear," one of the servants said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "You must be thrilled to be the Alpha's new plaything."

I felt a surge of anger at her words, but I kept my cool. "I'm just doing my job, like everyone else," I said, my voice even.

But the servant just laughed, her eyes gleaming with malice. "Oh, come on, Vanessa. We all know that you're not just any ordinary servant. You're the Alpha's favorite, his little pet."

I felt my face grow hot with anger, but I refused to rise to her bait. "I'm just trying to do my best, like everyone else," I repeated.

But the servant just snorted, her expression scornful. "Save it, Vanessa. We all know the truth. You're the Alpha's concubine, and you're going to do whatever he says, whenever he says it."

I felt a surge of frustration at her words, but I knew that I couldn't let her get to me. I took a deep breath, and tried to stay calm.

But it was hard, oh so hard. The other servants were all staring at me, their eyes fixed on me with a mixture of curiosity and suspicion. I felt like a specimen under a microscope, like a bug pinned to a wall.

"Hey, Vanessa, how does it feel to be the Alpha's favorite?" another servant asked, her voice dripping with envy.

I sighed, feeling a sense of exhaustion wash over me. "Look, I'm just trying to do my job, okay? I'm not trying to be anyone's favorite, or anything special. I'm just trying to survive."

But the servant just laughed, her eyes gleaming with malice. "Oh, come on, Vanessa. You're not fooling anyone. We all know that you're the Alpha's concubine, and that you're going to do whatever he says."

I felt a surge of anger at her words, but I refused to rise to her bait. I knew that I had to stay calm, had to keep my cool.

But it was hard, oh so hard. The other servants were all staring at me, their eyes fixed on me with a mixture of curiosity and suspicion. I felt like a prisoner in a zoo, like a animal on display.

"Vanessa, can I talk to you for a minute?" a soft voice asked, breaking through the tension.

I turned to see Emilia standing behind me, her eyes filled with concern. "Hey, Emilia. What's up?"

Emilia hesitated, her eyes darting back and forth between the other servants. "I just wanted to talk to you about what's been going on. I know that the other servants have been gossiping about you, and I wanted to tell you that I don't believe any of it."

I felt a surge of gratitude towards Emilia, my heart warming with appreciation. "Thanks, Emilia. That means a lot to me."

Emilia smiled, her eyes filled with kindness. "I know that you're not like that, Vanessa. I know that you're a good person, and that you don't deserve any of this."

I felt a lump form in my throat, my eyes welling up with tears. "Thanks, Emilia. You're a true friend."

Emilia smiled, her eyes filled with warmth. "Anytime, Vanessa. That's what friends are for."

And with that, she turned and walked away, leaving me to face the other servants alone. But I didn't feel alone, not with Emilia's words ringing in my ears. I felt strong, I felt brave, and I felt like I could face anything that came my way.

As I stood there, I realized that I didn't have to let the other servants get to me. I didn't have to let their gossip and their jealousy bring me down. I could rise above it, I could be stronger than that.

And with that, I took a deep breath, and I walked away, my head held high and my heart full of pride. I knew that I was a good person, and that I didn't deserve any of this. And I knew that I would always have Emilia's support, no matter what.
