'Good morning pumpkin," Axel said as I woke up, he was already dressed and I rose up immediately.


'You are going somewhere?"

'Yes, I forgot to tell you, but I have some meeting with some Alphas and I would be back by five pm," he said and he bent pecking me on my forehead and I frowned.



'What's wrong Pumpkin?"

'Kiss me on my lips." I whined and he chuckled.


'Yes baby," he said as he kissed me passionately but gently.

'That's better," I said as he laughed and waved me way.

'And, please take down the beauties nest your head before coming out," Axel said as he close the door immediately to shut my curses.

As Axel l went out for a meeting with the neighbouring packs alphas, I was stuck in being alone.

After showering and eating breakfast, I took a walk but I was still bored.

So I decided to go to the library to read, not the huge library where I met Kael because I was afraid of touching something that would trap me in with him. So, I decided to go to the smaller modern one close to Axel's office.

Walking there, I saw Octavia, and she smiled evily at me, but she quickly masked it by flashing a broad smile which I scowled at.

'Hi Vanessa, how are you doing?" She asked, still smiling.

'I'm fine."

'Won't you ask about me too?" She said pouting her lips. I rolled my eyes.

"Fine, and you Octavia?" I asked to fulfill all righteousness.

'I'm good. See you later," she said, and walked past me without bugging me more, and I instantly knew something was off. I was curious to find out. Yes, I'm a curious cat.


I reduced my steps and watch her carefully.

She started climbing the stairs leading to the west wing. I followed her as quietly as I could to avoid making her know anybody was following her.

She turned by a corner, and entered a room, locking it. I pulled my shoes and ran back to my room, dropping them there, I went back and placed my ear on the door to listen to whatever was going on there.

'You took so long sweetheart," a male voice said, and I gasped.

'I am sorry, moving round the place isn't an easy task, and I had to get careful no one knows about what we were doing, so we are nothing doomed," Octavia said trying to apease the man.

"Show you are sorry, don't just tell me," The man said, and I quickly moved to the keyhole and looked in, Octavia was grinning and going down on her knees.

I couldn't watch anymore, but I began to hear slopping and gaging. I left as I couldn't stand listening.

After going back to my room to wear my shoes, I was more than bored, I was getting more frustrated. So I deceided to go back to the smaller library to clear my raging thoughts.

I paced around until I finally settled down on a novel, deeply engrossed that I didn't notice when Emily came and sat down close to me.

'Do you get that distracted when you read because that's bad, if I were a bad guy, I would have done whatever I wanted to do," she said, now

frowning at me.

I was always a heavy reader, I would block out any sound in my surroundings and indulge my full attention to the book. I didn't know when I do it though.

'I'm sorry, just that the book was too enticing," I said smiling and she soften.

"What's the name of the book that got you that engrossed?" She asked and I told her.

"Yeah, I have read it, very classical, but I still feel Felix shouldn't have done that to her," she said sadly.

"Well, she deserved it," I replied trying to take my attention back to the book as Emily had settled down a book also.

After reading in silence for some hours, Emily suggested we go to watch some movies.

'Okay sure but no worries," I warned.

'I don't like them too, so noo worries." I felt relieved.

"Why don't we pop some popcorn ourselves?" She suggested and I nooded smiling, remembering Avery.

The kitchen door opened and Irene walked in and was shocked to see us doing it ourselves.

'My ladies, please I will do it," she offered, as she rushed to us to collect the utensils from us.

'No, Irene, go and rest. We can do this alone," Emily said.

'Yes, we can and we wanted to do this alone," I added smiling.

"But the Alpha will have our heads out on a bowl if he sees you both doing stuffs like this when we are here to serve you," she said with fear as she looked back.

'He won't see us and if he does, we will tell him we ordered you to go," I said and she smiled walking away.

While watching the movies, Emily started sniffing the air, I looked at her in surprise.

"Vanessa, can't you smell that?" She asked still sniffing the air.

"No, I can't," I said shaking my head.

"Seems your sense of smell is faulty," she said as she dug out a spoilt banana, and threw it in the trash can. She washed her hands and continued munching and watching the movie.


'That reminds me, Vanessa why can't I smell or feel your wolf?" Emily asked looking at me worriedly.

'You can't feel or smell it because I don't have a wolf: I am human."

The book in her hand dropped in shock.

' How?"

' I am a human, no how."

'That's why we couldn't smell you then, Octavia complained the same thing."

That cheap bitch.

'Promise you will never tell anyone including Axel, promise me Emily," I knelt begging her.

"I will never do that, I promise you. Now please get up, you didn't have to kneel," she said smiling as she helped me up.

'Now, tell me all about humans." And so I began.
