VANESSA P.O.V



'Wow, these pancakes are amazing," I said, between mouthfuls of the yummy pancakes. They were the best pancakes I have ever tasted.

"My taste buds are already dancing to the sweetness," Racheal added.


After breakfast, Racheal and I went out of the mountains to shop for groceries and other essential stuff for the house. We were accompanied by four of Adam's men.



While shopping, I saw Damian buying something. He was buying some sanitary pads for someone and his ears were gleaming red with embarrassment, then I remembered Avery; he was buying the pads for her. I laughed to myself.



But wait, what was he doing here? Isn't this place far from his pack? And to answer my questions, Derek walked to him growling loudly.

I bent and walked slowly to where they were standing so I could hear whatever they were saying.


'Be fast, we need to start moving. We need to find Vanessa else…" he stopped talking and began sniffing the air. Why was he doing that? Then I remembered they could smell me, so I began panicking and getting tensed all over.


'Are you perceiving that? It's like the…." Derek stopped mid sentence as his eyes started moving around in search for me.


'Vanessa is around somewhere," Damian completed. I started running back to where Racheal was to warn her so we can live.


'Racheal, Axel's men are in this mall and we need to leave now," I said, immediately I found her and she nodded. And we scurried into the car just in time before Damian got to the door of the car.

Derek joined him and they stared at the back of our car moving. I asked the driver to stop and I looked at them through the window.


'Why are you pursuing me, Damian? Wasn't it enough your Alpha chased me away. Why is he bent on killing me too? What have I done!!" Damian looked away with concern written all over the place.


"Vanessa please wait so we can explain…" Derek said, trying to come closer.


"Tell Axel that I hate him from the moment he chased me away and nothing on earth will change that, not even death." I went back into the car and the driver drove off.


Immediately I got to the comfort of the car I started sobbing inside the car and Racheal held me in her arms, consoling me.


'It's fine. Don't worry you will be fine. Everything would be alright."


I lay in her arms crying till I dozed off when I felt slipped.


'Rhea let's go in, we are home already."

I opened my tears-stricken eyes looking at her, I came out of the car. Walking off to my room when I remembered I needed to help Racheal so I went back..


'I'm sorry for going off like that."


"No, no, I understand and don't worry about the stuff, I will ask Hilda to help me carry them inside. Now go in and rest, you have cried enough for the day."


I nodded, smiling sadly as I went up to my room, getting to the top of the stairs. I saw Adam and his eyes were throwing daggers at me. I scampered back to where Racheal was.

She was surprised seeing me run into the store, I was looking if he followed me.


'What happened Rhea?"

'Nothing, I wanted to take an apple," I lied. I don't want to get her worried.


'Are you sure? you were running like something bad happened? You shouldn't run in like that, you scared me."


"I'm sorry. I was in a hurry to go back to my room." I hate lying to her, in fact to anybody.


'No worries. I will call you down for dinner. We are having something you like but I won't tell you," she said, smiling.


'Let me guess Beef lasagne? "I was getting excited already.


'No, not that."

'Meatballs?"

'No, not that either. You know what, stop guessing. Take a rest, I will call you once we are done." I smiled and went up,this time around faster so I don't encounter Adam on my way again.


Getting to my room after locking the door, I slipped down the door to my feet.

The tears I was holding began pouring like a flood down my cheeks, I cried my eyes out.

'Rhea stop doing this to yourself! He's not worth it despite he's my first love. I'm done crying for him."

So I stood up from the floor and went into the bathroom to take my bath. I showered with a very hot water, to relax my body and mind.

I came out of the shower running to my closet to get a nightgown. After wearing my clothes, I sat down in front of the vanity table and started combing my hair.

'You have got a very beautiful hair, love." I knew it was Kael, so I dropped the hair brush on the table and ran hugging him tightly. He was shocked at first but he quickly covered it.

'Wow. What did I do?" He asked, shocked because I have never hugged him before.

"For showing up when I needed you the most" I was still holding him, I knew it was looking childish but I don't care anymore

'Have you eaten?"

"No, they are preparing dinner. You can stay in , I will bring the food up here so that you can eat with me."

'But it would look suspicious. And I don't want you to get into any trouble." He refused.

"I thought you said you love me but you can't even agree with a word I say." I faked annoyance.

"Yes I do. Fine, I will stay with you here. Your wish is my command," He said, chuckling.

'Thank you."

"And in exchange, you will sit on my laps." I laughed as I hit his arms .

'I won't."

"Stop acting tough please love." I smiled as I nodded my head.

We sat down in the room quietly as we were comfortable with the silence.
