RHEA P.O.V
He went out and I breathed out in relief, I needed to take things easy or else I would blow my cover myself. I lay down back on the bed, looking up at the ceiling. I was feeling very strange on the man's clothes I was putting on, rubbing my hand over my chest I could feel my breasts but it wasn't visible.
It was getting darker and I was feeling very hungry but I don't know how the servants behave so I stayed in bed waiting if anyone would come in so I can ask them when we will be given our dinner. I decided to use sleep as an temporary antidote to suppress my hunger.
I was still trying to fall asleep when the door opened and a maid's head popped into the room. She smiled when she saw me, oh no she thought I was a man. I know it was because I was looking beautiful in a male body so she felt attracted. I haven't seen her before, maybe she was employed after I was chased away.
'Good evening newbie," she greeted, and I rose smiling back at her. I need to use her for my own selfish goal and I know it was wrong but life isn't right either.
'Good evening beautiful," I flirted. She gasped looking at me before she smiled shyly.
'I'm Amara. You need to come down for dinner," she said, smiling shyly. Was I that attractive? I thought.
'Okay. I'm right behind you." She smiled before leaving. I looked around for a mirror but I couldn't find any, well what do I expect from men, they don't even check their looks and yet they look amazing.
I arranged my clothes and went out, when I got out of the door I was greeted with more doors and I got confused.
'Newbie down here," another maid called from the other end of the hallway, and I rushed down to her.
"Don't worry, the food is enough to go round," she said laughing, and I stopped halfway frowning at her. She sobered up.
'I'm sorry. I was just joking." I rolled my eyes and walked past her. One thing is sure, I don't like her choice of words. She was still standing at the exact spot where she called me.
'Newbie." She called again but I ignored her making my way down the stairs.
Luckily I meet the first maid as she was walking, I rushed to her. She looked back when she saw footsteps, I was sure I saw a glint of laughter and amusement.
"Amara l, I got lost." I explained, smiling nervously and she smiled back.
"It's normal, we were all confused when we got here. You will get used to everywhere with time." Her cheerful and optimistic attitude reminded me of Rachael. I missed her so much already.
'Down to earth. Penny for your thoughts?" She said, handing a penny to me. I laughed out at her sense of humor.
'I just remembered my friend back at home, I miss him a lot."
"I can relate. I miss my best friend so much. We only see once a year and it's not enough for us." She sighed.
"Enough of the gloomy atmosphere. Let's go and eat." I knew I liked her already and I understand she wasn't flirting with me back in the room, she was just being nice.
We got to the dinning room and I met so many maids and guards I never knew existed in the palace laughing without the frown I usually see on their faces. The males were on one side and the females on the other side. I followed Amara to the ladies side and she turned looking at me surprisedly.
'Where are you going Newbie?"
"I'm following you to a table. I'm really hungry you know." I admitted.
"No, not that, why are you going to the ladies table when you should be there." She pointed to the other side. I laughed nervously, I really need to get a grip over myself.
"Sorry, I was too hungry to notice. And my name is Gabriel not Newbie."
'Okay, Gabriel. I will see you later." She waved before walking off.
I looked at the men and they were all noisy and the table noisy. I can't put up with all that, I dished out my food and went out of the room finding somewhere discreet.
I couldn't find one single less noisy place because they were all occupied so I went back to the room and luckily I was the only one there. I sat down on my bed and started eating, half way through my meal a man walked into the room.
He was surprised to see me and I smiled nervously, he walked to his bed sitting down.
'You must be the new guy. Welcome aboard my name is Azra."
'Thank you." I muttered, turning my attention back to my meal.
"Don't mind Andrew, I'm not gay. He was only messing with you. Feel free," he said, and I didn't know when my chest heaved down in relief.
'You were really bothered? You bought that?" He asked, looking at me stunned.
"No. I was just surprised. That's all."
'Okay, if you say so. So what's the name? And your post?" He was pulling his shirt and I looked away.
"Gabriel. The Alpha's new bodyguard. Though I will be resuming in two days time."
"Oh, when he comes back. Nice job you got, the tips are always huge. That's what the guard you replaced use to say before he was killed." He sighed sadly.
' Was he your friend?"
"Davison was everybody's friend, but most importantly he was my best friend. He was a good soul down to the core with no evil in him. I don't know it had to be the good ones that would be killed."
I felt bad for the Davison and short-lived life.
"I'm sorry for your loss."
'It's fine. He is happy wherever he is and I'm sure of that," he said, smiling sadly.
