The bell woke me up the next morning very early, that's the thing I hate most about my mission. I love sleeping in the morning, but since I came here I can't sleep past five AM.

'Wake up Gabriel, you are quite a heavy sleeper," Azra called out laughing. He was the only one that has been helping me since I came here, he understood I wasn't good at waking up early.

'You should have gotten used to this by now, but you are the heaviest sleeper I have ever seen. You sleep even during breakfast," he said laughing, and I laughed too. He was right though.

'Ayyy, I'm gonna change you will see." I was talking like how I saw the men talking, loud and without thinking .

'I would love to see you wake up early. Wake me up when you do." He laughed while walking to the shower. I waited till they all took their bath before taking mine. They had taunted me the first time I did it, but I laughed over it too.

I went down for breakfast with Azra. I was finding him more entertaining than Andrew who was always watching me like I was doing something bad. Fine I was doing something but did anyone know? I left for my post.

'Gabriel give this to the Alpha," one of the guards at the gate said to me, handing me a red colored letter. They apologized for their bad attitude to me at the gate, and I became friends with them.

That was strange, normal letters are usually in white paper but this was written in a red one and from my parents, I know that when red objects are sent from someone to a pack, it was a a sign of war.

I rushed to his office knocking on his door trying to steady my breath.

'Come in. "His loud voice boomed.

I opened the door and went in. He was deeply engrossed in his paperwork, he looked hot with his unbuttoned shirt.

'Good morning, Your highness," I greeted, and he raised his head up.

'Yes, Gabriel."

'A letter was sent to you." I handed the letter to him

"What's in it?" He asked, I looked at him raising my brows. How will I know the contents of a letter sent to him?

"The letter was sent to you and not me.' I couldn't hide my annoyance. He ignored me opening the letter after some moments he flared up tossing the letter to the floor. I picked up the letter for him, dropping it back on the table.

'How dare he!!"

'May I ask what happened?" He looked at the window before looking back at me.

'It's my uncle, and he is declaring a war, either I leave my throne for him or he will take it forcefully," he explained. So his uncle was still bent on taking the throne away from him. He is wasting his time though, because the Axel I know would never give up something that rightly belongs to him.

'Oh. Surely you won't give it up because it's your birthright, how will you tackle the situation and put things under control ?" I asked, while he was pacing up and down.

'I don't know what to do right now, I will call the council for a meeting," he said, sitting down to reread the letter.

'Should I give you an idea?" He smirked.

'You are a guard, you don't even know how my uncle is, so what advice can you give to me?"

"You shouldn't underestimate a commoner because we know how everything looks from the grassroot up to the top."

'Fine, what's the idea?" I told him and he looked at me astonished.

"You are wise after all." I frowned at him but he wasn't looking at me.

'I don't look dumb, it's just you don't know I'm smart." He snapped his head and I closed my mouth. I shouldn't have said that. Men don't talk like that. Gosh I was doing a terrible job at this.

'Young lad, watch how you talk, else your sharp tongue would get you into big trouble."

'I'm sorry, I didn't mean to say it out loud. Apologies, your highness." He waved me off and I turned to leave quickly.

'Tell Evans to call Damian, and he should inform the council to be here in the next two hours," he ordered, and I bowed leaving the room.

I rushed off to deliver his message before running off to take some snacks to munch on. I went back to my post at the front of his door eating and humming to the point I didn't notice when he came out. He cleared his throat to announce his presence and I hid the snack behind my back.

'I'm sorry, I didn't notice," I mumbled.

'You are quite a strange fellow young lad. But you need to be more attentive to your surroundings else how will you protect yourself."

'Yes, your highness." He nodded, walking off fast enough that I was almost skipping to match his steps.

'Your highness." Evans called from our back and he stopped, turning back. Evans rushed to him, bowing.

'Damian is on his way, and the council are already in the throne room waiting for you."

My eyes popped open in surprise, wow that was very fast, it has been barely an hour since Evans was asked to gather them.

'Okay." He turned from the direction we were walking to and went down another towards the throne room with Evans at his front.

He entered the throne room and I waited at the door though I was curious to know the proceedings of the meetings.

Evans came back to the door, laughing.

'What are you doing here? You are supposed to follow him and you will stand at his back. Aren't you his bodyguard?" He was smiling mischievously. I nodded and walked into the throne room greeted with old faces.

'Seems my bodyguard doesn't know his duties, and how will you guard me then?" Axel whispered.

'I'm sorry," I whispered back, going to his back with my face straight.
