Oh. It was a cat. I breathed out in relief until I thought again, nobody owns cat in the palace, so I was confused.


'Axel, are you seeing this?" I asked, looking at him with a frown on my face. He turned and saw the cat, and his eyes widened in realization.

'It's not a cat, it's a witch. Go and get dressed now," he said, and I ran into the walk-in closet.

Quickly putting on my clothes, I came out to him. He held my hand and pulled me to the door.


Walking down the hallway of the palace, down to his study, we walked in complete silence. He opened the door of the study and pulled me in, sitting me on his chair. Then he went back to lock the door.

I was confused, but I didn't know what to do or what to say, so I merely looked on. He began going through the files on his table and I looked at him confusedly.


'Axel, please what's going on? You are making me get scared," I said, worriedly.

'Don't worry, everything is under control, nothing happened. Don't worry," he said, but I didn't believe him.

'Then why are you looking through the table and acting very frantic?" He looked at me smiling.

'What's amusing?" I asked, looking behind my back to see if anything funny was happening behind me. But there was nothing there except the closet filled with books.

'It's actually funny how you're looking so worried and tensed. I just did that to make you frightened, and it worked perfectly well." I couldn't believe my ears and I frowned my face at him very annoyed.

'Why would you do that? I was so scared," I said, holding my tears in. I was so frightened that I started crying. He walked towards me looking very sorry.

'I'm sorry, I shouldn't have made you cry. I was just joking with you too. I'm sorry baby." He apologized.

'It's fine. I was just scared, that's why, but it's fine," I replied, wiping my eyes off.

I was in Axel's room feeling very bored because he had been out since morning for a meeting, and he hadn't come back. I remembered Racheal and Adam, they would think I had betrayed them.

I decided to use the opportunity and run back to them. I opened the door, looking around before running out to the kitchen, so I could use the back door to escape.

'Luna, where are you going to? And why are you going through the back door?" a voice said behind me and I stopped in fear. Looking back, and I saw it was Ferdinand looking at me strangely with Avery smiling.

I was surprised to see them, but I was happy to see Avery after a long time of not seeing her, and she came closer running to me to hug me.

'I miss you so much Vanessa, oh sorry Rhea," she said, smiling, and I laughed.

'Me too. You look beautiful as always but thin. What happened to you? Why is Damian starving her?" I looked at him frowning, and he raised his hand in denial.

'No, he's not starving me, actually I had a miscarriage," she said, sadly, and I gasped.

'Oh, I'm so sorry I didn't have to tread on a sore spot, I didn't know. How did it happen? Oh! Sorry," I said, hugging her again as her eyes watered.

'Don't apologize Vanessa, it's not your fault, and you didn't know," she said, smiling bravely, and I admired her courage. If I was the one, I would still be crying now.

'Come, let's go inside," I said, pulling her inside, leaving Damien smiling at us.

'What should we do for fun? I don't know what to do, but I miss you so much," she said, bubbling with energy.

'Anything you want. I'm actually happy you came to see me. I was so bored," I said, truthfully.

'I'm happy you came back to Alpha, Rhea. He was so disorganized and broke after he chased you away," she said, smiling.

'I have been here all these while. But nobody knew." she looked at me shocked.

'Are you joking Rhea? How can you be here and the Alpha won't feel you? The whole pack was looking for you ?" She said and I burrowed my brows.

'How?" I got interested in what she was saying.

'He placed a huge bounty on your head that for anyone that can help him find you, his mate."

'Oh, but he chased me away and now he's looking for me claiming I'm his mate? I don't care, I want to get out of here," I said, stubbornly. She looked at me amazed and shook her head wiping the sauce from her mouth.

'I understand you are still very annoyed with him, but you need to know that the Alpha loves you so much, you need to take it easy, he was heartbroken then when you lied to him and if you put yourself in his shoe you understand that you will feel the same way too," she said, and her words stung me. I would have felt bad too if Axel has been keeping something away from me.

'Yeah, your anger is justified because of the way he handled the situation, he shouldn't have done that but you need to take it easy."

'I know what I did was wrong," I said, looking away as Avery made me realize my mistake.

'Yes it was. And you need to apologize to him too. Will you do that for me?" She asked looking at me.

'I don't want to. He will think I'm weak."

'No, I will not think so, my Love." I snapped my head to the direction of the voice, and it was Axel. I blushed in embarrassment. He came closer to me and carried me and I muttered sorry to her and she smiled.

'Where are you taking me to?" I asked, when I saw we weren't going to his room.

'Somewhere."
