Cleopatra stared sharply at James Weelman, trying to read his terrified expression. The man sat with slumped shoulders, his hands gripping his pants tightly under the table as if trying to hide his nervousness.
He was at the edge of a cliff.
However, the longer Cleopatra observed him, the more she realized that threats and pressure alone wouldn't make James talk.
She needed a different approach.
Taking a deep breath, Cleopatra relaxed her shoulders and leaned back in her chair.
"I'm going to make a deal with you, James," she said in a calmer tone.
James slowly lifted his face, hesitant. His eyes were filled with anxiety.
"I will guarantee your family's safety," Cleopatra continued. "Your wife, your children… they will be in a safe place. No one will be able to touch them."
James swallowed hard, his expression beginning to change.
"How can I be sure?" his voice was hoarse, full of distrust.
Cleopatra pulled out her phone and called one of her connections in the police force.
"I need protection for someone's family. Prepare a safe hideout immediately," she said without hesitation.
On the other end, the man's voice was quick. "We can take care of it within two hours."
Cleopatra ended the call and looked at James.
"You heard it yourself. I'm not joking, James. Now, tell me who sent you."
James let out a heavy sigh, his eyes lowering.
After a few seconds that felt like forever, he finally spoke.
"I was ordered by someone… one of Theodore William Blake's men," he admitted in a low voice, almost like a whisper.
Cleopatra clenched her jaw.
She knew her uncle was behind this. But without concrete evidence, she couldn't act recklessly.
"He's untouchable by the law. If I report him, I won't last long," James added, his tone filled with fear.
Cleopatra raised an eyebrow, processing the information.
"Untouchable, huh?" she muttered, tapping her fingers on the table.
So this was Theodore's game.
A game she intended to turn against him.
After getting James out of the interrogation room and ensuring his family's protection, Cleopatra sat in her office, deep in thought.
Accusing Theodore directly was a bad move.
If she made the wrong step, she could end up trapped in her uncle's own game.
But…
She still had her trump card.
The inheritance.
As long as she was married, all her inheritance rights would remain with her. There would be no legal loopholes for Theodore to bring her down.
Cleopatra smirked as a crazy idea popped into her head.
"I just need to get married as soon as possible," she murmured, her eyes shining with strategy.
Then, she thought of someone.
Louis Toreto.
The innocent man who could be manipulated and controlled… with a little clever play.
Cleopatra grinned slyly.
"I will make him fall in love with me."
**
Elsewhere, Louis sat in his office, trying to focus on work.
But his mind kept drifting back to Cleopatra.
The longer he spent time with her, the harder it was to understand the woman.
Sometimes, Cleopatra seemed so strong and invincible.
Other times, she looked exhausted and fragile.
And one thing confused him even more—whenever Cleopatra got close, his chest would pound wildly.
"I'm just a poor guy, and she's just using me… right?" Louis thought, trying to push aside the confusion in his heart.
Louis tried to concentrate on his work, but since morning, Cleopatra had been causing trouble.
Every time he looked down to read a document, she always found a way to distract him.
The climax came when she entered his office wearing a tight red dress, her hair cascading down freely, and her lips looking bolder than usual.
"Toreto, I need your opinion."
Louis nearly choked on his coffee.
"Opinion on what?" he asked, his voice slightly shaky.
Cleopatra walked closer, standing beside his desk, then tilted her body slightly.
"About my dress. Too bold for a CEO, or… seductive enough for my fiancé?"
Louis immediately tensed up.
"W-Why are you asking me?"
Cleopatra smirked, then casually took Louis's hand, pulled him up from his chair, and led him out of the office.
Outside, many employees immediately turned to look at them.
Whispers began to spread.
"Look at that, they're getting even closer!"
"They really seem serious."
"Our boss has finally found the right man."
Louis felt like he wanted to disappear.
He tried to pull his hand away, but Cleopatra only tightened her grip.
"Cleo… this is getting out of hand," Louis whispered.
"Don't be so serious, Toreto. I just want people to see how ‘happy' we are," she said playfully.
Louis could only let out a long sigh. Today was going to be a long day.
**
The next day, Louis arrived at the office early, hoping to avoid Cleopatra's chaos.
But as soon as he sat at his desk, he noticed something unusual.
A luxurious breakfast package with a card that read:
"From your dearest fiancé. Don't skip your meal, okay?"
Louis looked around, searching for Cleopatra.
And in the corner of the room, Cleopatra waved at him with a small, victorious smile.
Louis rubbed his face, feeling like she was getting out of hand.
"I need to get out of this trap," he muttered.
But for some reason, he still ate the breakfast without a second thought.
At lunchtime, Cleopatra dragged Louis out of the office without giving an explanation.
"Toreto, come with me," she said without context.
Louis looked at her suspiciously.
"F-For what?" he asked hesitantly.
Cleopatra smirked mysteriously.
"I want to buy you something. And you're not allowed to refuse."
"Huh? For what?" Louis eyed her warily.
"I want to get to know my future family better," Cleopatra answered with a mischievous smile.
Louis immediately knew this wasn't a good idea.
But he was already trapped.
When they arrived at the shopping center, Cleopatra completely took control.
She picked out clothes for Louis, bought expensive items, and even made him try on a new suit.
"I don't need all this, Cleo," Louis complained.
"Of course, you do. You need to look like a man worthy of being my husband."
Louis could only sigh, while inwardly thinking, "This is getting ridiculous."
**
The next morning, Louis woke up with a bad feeling.
And sure enough—as he stepped out of his room, Cleopatra was already standing in his living room, grinning widely.
"Good morning, dear mother-in-law," Cleopatra greeted as she kissed his mother, Linda Toreto, on the cheek.
Linda, surprised, could only look at Louis with an amused expression.
"You are something else, Miss Cleopatra," she said with a laugh.
Meanwhile, Louis could only cover his face with his hands.
"I can't believe this is happening."
Cleopatra winked at Louis.
"Get ready, Toreto. I'm going to make you fall for me faster than you think," Cleo thought to herself.
**
After spending the whole day working together at the office, Cleopatra still wasn't satisfied with teasing Louis.
She wanted to make sure the man truly started questioning his own feelings.
That night, Louis sat on the sofa in Cleopatra's penthouse, having been forced to stay without the option to refuse. Sipping his coffee, he tried to come up with an excuse to leave.
But Cleopatra had other plans.
She walked over casually, sitting beside Louis—closer than necessary.
"Are you comfortable here, Toreto?" she asked, her voice soft yet teasing.
Louis quickly gulped down his coffee, nearly choking.
"I'm just… waiting for a taxi."
Cleopatra clicked her tongue softly, then, without warning, grabbed Louis's tie and pulled him slightly closer.
"Why wait for a taxi when I can drive you home?" she whispered in his ear.
Louis's blood rushed instantly.
Cleopatra leaned in, her fingers lazily tracing the collar of his shirt.
"Or maybe… you'd rather spend the night here?"
Louis instantly felt his body temperature rise.
"C-Cleo… what are you doing?"
Cleopatra smiled meaningfully.
"I just want to know… when you're going to surrender to me."
As if that wasn't enough, Cleopatra suddenly stood up and grabbed Louis's hand.
"Come with me," she said casually.
Louis looked at her in confusion.
"Where?"
Cleopatra didn't answer. She led him into her spacious bedroom, with dim lighting and the scent of an enticing perfume.
Louis immediately panicked.
