Noah was busy with guests but his eyes were continually following her. He gets anxious whenever she is not in his line of sight.

Carissa's phone beeped, "Want to go somewhere with me?" He was getting suffocated in the crowd. The things he needed the most right now is fresh air and Carissa.


"Now?" She replied to him with a shocked emoji.

"Hmm. Now". He replied within seconds.

Carissa gave him a confused look. In return Noah was looking at her with a pleading look.


"Okay". She agreed. Carissa knows she is safe with him. He will never force her to do anything which causes her harm.

"Come to the parking". Another message came.


Noah left the venue. Carissa said bye to Laura and was leaving when Esme stopped her.

"Are you leaving, Carissa?" she asked with a motherly smile.

"Yes." A beautiful smile was plastered on her face.

"Come with Noah for dinner at our place".

"I will come when I am free". She could not reject her when she was asking with love.

"Then, I am waiting for you".

Esme hugged her. Her sons and her husband have given her a very tough time in the past. They all are workaholics. Her only daughter lives overseas so she feels very lonely. Even though she has a cosmetic brand and she is the CEO beside the production of products she does not look after anything. Marketing and whatnot is all handled by her staff. Esme liked Carissa a lot. She has seen the anxiety her son has for her. No matter how hard he tries to hide his feelings he is a transparent sheet of paper in front of her mother. To be honest, Carissa is a perfect girl. With a very good family background, she is highly educated, she is pretty too. If Noah is the ideal man of every girl then she is the idea woman of every man.

When Carissa went to the parking lot she saw Noah with Mia. Mia was hugging him tightly. But he was standing still. His face was emotionless.

It was hard to read what he was thinking.

"I am sorry about the past, Noah. I love you. In the past 10 years I have thought about you a lot. Can't you forgive me now? I want to get back with you".

A very evil and terrifying smile crept on his lips. Noah held her from the shoulder. His eyes were filled with hatred. "Do you think that the world revolves around you? I don't feel anything for you now. I want you to let me live in peace. You have already made my life a hell. I am not a puppet Mia. I have feelings too. I feel pain too. It is not easy for me to accept everything I beg you to leave me. Since the day you left, you are dead for me".

He shook her so hard that Mia stumbled and fell on the ground.

Noah did not help her. Carissa turned around to leave. It was not her intention to eavesdrop, "Where are you going? I told you to come here". His voice became gentle. He was not like a beast just a second ago.

Carissa felt awkward between these two. Before walking towards Noah, she went towards Mia and offered her a hand to help her in getting up. It was rude to leave her like this.

Before Mia could take her hand Noah grasped Carissa's wrist. "Can't you understand things at once? I told you to come with me". He was angry.

He dragged her towards a black Ferrari. He opened the front door and literally threw her on the seat. But helped her with her dress.

Mia stood up on her own. She was feeling bitter. The things that could have been her were taken away by someone else.

Noah ignited the engine and drove past by Mia. He was driving so fast that if a normal person was sitting with him, they could get motion sickness. But it was Carissa, she is a car racer so it was nothing for her.

He was breaking all the traffic rules. He did not stop at any signal. He was cutting the lanes rashly.

"Hey can't you just follow the rules?" Carissa spoke while her eyes were on the road.

"To hell with rules". He cursed.

"Did you call me here to show me your attitude? If you are going to be like this then drop me here right now." Carissa shouted at him. She is not someone that can tolerate any unreasonable behavior.

He glared at her before slowing down the car. "I am sorry".

This is the first time in his life that he apologized. These three words came out of his mouth unintentionally. His grip on the steering wheel tightened.

The rest of the drive was covered in silence. After half an hour he stopped the car. Noah went outside and Carissa followed him . It was the highest point of the city. A perfect place for sightseeing.

The wind was blowing strongly. It was cold but at the same time very refreshing.

"Ah… I feel alive". Carissa spoke looking at the beautiful view. The buildings were lit with lights and the sky was lit with the stars. It was breathtakingly beautiful.

"This is like my secret place. Whenever I have a lot of things in my mind I come here." His voice was deep and low.

"Why are you sharing your secret spot with me?"

Noah looked at her, "Because I want you to know the real me." He hugged her from back and spoke in her ear very softly, "Carissa I know you have a lot of questions for me but I want you to know that you are the only one for me. Don't let other people come in between us." He paused, "My brother…. He almost ruined his married life just because of these trust issues".

He was making her believe that he will remain loyal to her and to trust him. He was letting her know that he is not related to Mia.

Her eyes were getting teary due to strong wind,"Then, what about Mia?"

"I hate her".

The way he spoke she can tell just how much he hated her.

He broke the hug and looked at her. "Don't talk about others with me again".

Carissa nodded as she understood that he didn't want to talk about her.

Noah placed his thumb on her delicate neck. He was trying to remove the foundation she has applied on her neck. "Why did you hide it? I love them". His face had a mischievous smile

Carissa became angry at his words, "Get lost you bastard. Do you know how embarrassed I was".

"I asked you, are you sure you want to leave. You said yes that's why I left with you. I gave you a chance. Now, you cannot blame me". He defended himself.

"You are very shameless". Carissa pouted.

"It is your fault for being unaware. Don't you know neck is such a sensitive part. Marks can be made here easily. I even bit……"

Carissa blushed. How can he talk about such things so easily? "Shut up. I did not ask about details".

He wanted to tease her more, "But I want to tell you".

Carissa immediately covered her ears to stop herself from listening to his shameless stories. But she heard him laughing so hard.

He held her hands in his, "Let's go now. You will catch a cold".

She followed him like a child. On their way back, Carissa was sleeping peacefully. Noah turned off the engine of the car and glanced at her. He unbuckled her seat belt and turned the seat into a mini bed. He was well aware of her insomnia so he did not disturb her.

Noah turned towards her, as he rested his head on the seat and gently took her hand in his. He moved closer to her and kissed her knuckles.

He kept on looking at her until it was dawn. Some sun rays fell on her face, she opened her eyes and rubbed them like a kid that just woke up from sleep.

When Carissa became fully conscious she saw him looking at her. She looked at him as she was thinking about something very deeply.

"What are you thinking?" His voice was sleepy.

"How come I always sleep with you without any pills?" She was amazed at herself too and it is a mystery.

"Want to live with me?" He asked very seriously.

Carissa became flustered. He talks about such things very lightly, "What are you talking about early in the morning?"

"I am serious."

Yeah she can see that. He is damn serious.

"I am going. Bye". Carissa ignored his question as she walked towards the apartment.

Noah was looking at her back. When she disappeared out of his sight, Noah drove away.
