Chapter 67 Wife is always right.
Celeste was sitting in the corner. She does not like such parties but she came here only because of Carissa. Celeste ate a little and looked around to see Carissa. She wanted to go back home.
A very luxurious and elegant pair of shoes came into her sight and stopped in front of her. She looked up to see the man. He was handsome, but more on a pretty side. His skin was so fair that he was looking pale.
"Want to hang out?" He spoke making his voice as sexy as possible and a little rudely.
Celeste rolled her eyes. She does not want to create a scene here so she decided to simply ignore him and remained quiet.
"I will pay you". He made another offer. The dress Celeste was wearing was beautiful indeed. But these elites can tell in a single glance that it is some local dress and not branded. Her beautiful face and perfect figure made the dress appear better, still she cannot change the fact that it was bought by some local shop.
A voice rang in the air at that moment, "Fu*k off". He held the boy from the collar and pushed him aside.
Celeste can recognize this voice. She was stunned and glanced at his face. He looked handsome and hotter than before. The boy was familiar with Edwin so he left without retaliating back.
"What are you doing here?" Edwin gritted his teeth. He flared his nostrils in fury.
"Why does it concern you?" She also gritted her teeth at him.
Carissa saw Celeste with Edwin, she was going to make him disappear near her but Noah held her wrist and made her stop, "Let them resolve. It is better if we should not interfere with their matter".
Most of the girls that came to the party for match making purposes and of course Noah is the dream of everyone were shocked to see him holding someone's hand. They clenched their fist tightly.
Carissa felt the atmosphere chilling, she glanced at her surroundings and noticed that every girl was giving her murderous look.
Carissa tried to pull away her hand from his grip but he held it more tightly. "Do you want to see me dead?" She whispered.
"You are getting scared this early. I will flirt with you or either with them, the choice is yours." He was so close to her that his lips were brushing with her ear and his hot breath was making her hotter. Millions of butterflies were roaming in her stomach. It felt good to be held by him in front of all these eyes.
Esme saw her son and smiled. She used to think of him as a cold hearted and unromantic person but he is best at it. Best at making his wife feel loved. She does not have to worry about him anymore.
Noah always proved his parents wrong, at first they thought he would never be able to handle the business because he was very carefree and did not take anything serious. That's why his father remained strict with him, but he became the number one.
"Stop it, Noah". She shot laser beams at him and he smiled revealing his dimples making people stunned once again.
Jia and Mrs. Zak were fuming with anger.
Meanwhile, Celeste said coldly to Edwin, "What I have to do, to make you stop stalking me?"
Edwin smiled while putting his hands in the pockets. "Will you do it?" he asked with a smirk, inching closer to her, his breath was striking her face and she was losing her composure. Celeste held the hem of her dress tightly to appear calm.
"Wh-What is….i-it?" she was stuttering unconsciously.
"Nothing much… same as usual spending a night together". He replied nonchalantly.
Her brain exploded. He was talking about such a thing so casually. She licked her dry lips to make them moist and he found this act seductive. He wanted to moist them for her instead.
"We are not in a relationship". She tried to straighten out the facts.
"I know. But it is not necessary to be in a relationship". He looked in her eyes, "To do that..."
Celeste could not believe him. It showed that he has no respect for her.
"For me… it is". She glared at him and left him alone. It was the biggest mistake to go to a hotel for some bills. Celeste saw Carissa was looking at her. Celeste was fuming with anger due to his words. He still does not respect her. All she wanted was to make him respect. Deep inside her heart she wanted to get closer to him, know him more.
"Carissa, I want to go back".
Carissa glared at Edwin who was standing far from them, with his hands still in the pockets.
"I can send you home with a driver". Noah replied to her.
"Can't I go too?" Carissa asked him.
"No. I promised my mom that we will stay here tonight". Noah looked deeply in her eyes.
"Really". Carissa appeared to be apologetic.
"Its okay. I can go with a driver". Celeste does not want to ruin their plan.
Carissa saw off her and sent her home safely. Her parents already left and there were few guests. Noah and Edwin were standing together. Carissa went towards them and without any warming she kicked the leg of Edwin, making him bent down and gasping in pain. "HEY". Edwin shouted at her.
"Stay in your limits. She is my savior. I will not let you do anything to her". She was giving him warmth.
Edwin was rubbing his hurting leg, "Why are you not saying anything to her?" He turned towards Noah.
"Wife is always right". His simple sentence shut off Edwin's mouth meanwhile Carissa smiled.
"It is right. Friends are no more friends after marriage". Edwin looked helplessly at his friend, while Noah shrugged his shoulders.
Carissa saw a familiar person coming towards them.
"Can I talk to her, alone?" He asked Noah and emphasized the word alone.
Noah glanced at Carissa and nodded. He left them alone.
Harrison was very serious, "I am sorry Carissa about last time. I should have come and talked to you before but I did not get a chance. I am sorry for hurting you".
"Oh no Harrison. It was not your fault at all. I pulled a prank and made you worried. I should be the one to apologize".
"Its okay. You don't like me, it is my fate. I cannot change your feelings. You like Noah I should be supporting you. I am happy if you are happy".
Carissa felt touched by his words. "You will find someone incredible and beautiful in the future. You are a great person, Harrison. You will get what you deserve. I hope for your happiness."
Harrison smiled faintly, "Can I hug you for the last time?"
Carissa was surprised, not on his request but on the words of last request. "Are you going somewhere?"
He nodded, "Yeah, to Italy. I don't know when I will be back".
Carissa felt sad. She immediately opened her arms and Harrison pulled her in a hug. He was hugging her tightly.
Noah was looking at the scene from far. Harrison asked for permission and it was the last time so he could not reject him. His dark eyes were swallowing them.
Harrison did not look at him but he can feel his daggers at himself. He pulled away, "Its enough. I don't want to die today from his hands".
She can understand to whom he is referring. Carissa smiled. "Thank you Harrison for understanding me".
"Stop this thanks and sorry. You are making me emotional".
Carissa laughed and tapped on his shoulder, "Let's be good friends in the future". She proposed an idea.
"I don't want to unless….." he paused, "I find someone that makes my heart beat like you do".
"You will…" At that moment Noah came and grabbed her wrist. "That's enough". His cold voice rang in the air.
"Okay okay chill man." He looked at Carissa, "Bye". He waved his hand.
"Bye". Harrison left and he took her to his bedroom at White's residence. It was her first time staying with in-laws.
