She sat on the cold floor for a long time. Carissa started to feel drowsy and she was feeling like her body was becoming lifeless. The eyelids become heavy making it difficult to keep them open. God knows for how long she stayed there. The coldness was adding fuel to the fire and Carissa was feeling numb. She could not feel her body anymore. Finally an employee came and saw her on the floor. The floor covered with the red metallic liquid made her step back in shock. Her hands, her dress and the area around her was covered with blood. The employee became afraid to see her condition. Her face was pale and lips were trembling. The injuries were not major but she was bleeding too much.

The employee called her other colleagues to help Carissa. Celeste heard the commotion and saw her only friend being injured. At the moment she could not think of anything and went to hospital with Carissa. The injury on her head was severe and it needed to be operated on. The doctor provided her first aid but Carissa was still unconscious. "How am I going to contact Noah?" Celeste spoke to her own self.


Suddenly she thought of an idea. Edwin called her before, she did not save his number but it must be in the call log. She opened it and continued to swipe down until she found his number. She called him but he was not picking up. Celeste was going crazy here and she was going to end the call but at that moment his sleepy voice was heard by her.

"I am honored to receive the call……." Celeste knew he was going to speak nonsense and she had no time to listen to his useless blabbering so she cut him between, "Send me Noah's number or can you contact him for me?" she chased to the point without wasting any second.

Edwin sat up and rested his head on the bed rest, "Why you need his number?" he inquired while narrowing his eyes.


She wanted to smack his head. Can't he just do it or answer what she is asking. Celeste knew she had to explain the situation, "Carissa is injured. I am in the XYZ hospital with her. Please inform him as soon as possible". She spoke in a single breath and ended the call.

Edwin was dumbfounded. He glanced at the phone that was now beeping. Celeste spoke with such urgency he can tell that the matter is serious. In the next second, in the CEO's office, Noah's phone rang. He attended the call thinking of it as an arrival of trouble or nuisance. But still he received it.


"What trouble have you caused this time?" Noah asked his friend while his brows knitted together

"My dear friend, this time I am not the one that has caused trouble. It is your wife". He explained slowly in order to not aggravate him but Edwin is unaware of the fact that if a single strand of her hair is hurt, it is enough for him to turn this world upside down.

Noah's fingers stopped writing while his blood started to flow in the opposite direction, "What are you talking about?" he was confused and hell worried to hear about Carissa from Edwin.

"I am not sure about the details. Celeste called me and asked me to inform you. She is in the hospital. Go there and I am……."

Noah panicked at his words that she is in the hospital. He did not hear what Edwin said afterwards. He hung up without listening fully and rushed out of the company. Noah drove to the hospital at the speed of flash. His mind was about to explode. "Please not again Carissa". He shouted at his own self. "Please be safe". He prayed while driving.

He was cutting between the lanes and cars. Noah was speeding and suddenly a car stopped in front of his car. "Damn it". He shouted once again and stepped on the brake. But still the collision occurred.

The man from the front car came outside and knocked on his window. Noah was getting frustrated by the situation. He just wanted to fly and go to see her.

The man was stunned to see his luxurious car. It was a perfect chance for him to scoop out the money from him.

Noah pressed the button and the window rolled down. The man was once again surprised to see this handsome creature. He admitted that he has never seen a man as handsome as him in his life. His western slim fitted suit was making him more noble and elegant but the expression on his face was horrible. His cold stare made the man shiver in fear. The words stuck in his throat and they were not coming out as he wanted them,

"Gentleman,  you should see the damage you have caused...." The man said with a trembling voice.

Noah pulled out his wallet from the pocket and threw a sheet of paper on his face. "Now, fu** off". He shouted and did not give him any time to react. He stepped on the accelerator and drove away.

The man glanced at the cheque of 5 million dollar and gasped. His car was not any luxury car and the damage was minor too. With this money he can buy a new car too. He felt happy about the collision as he had hit a jackpot.

After some rash driving, he was in the hospital. Noah went straight to the emergency room but his eyes fell on the anxious Celeste first. He ran towards her and asked while panicking. There is only one in the world that can make him so vulnerable and right now he was at the weakest point.

"What happened?" he asked, suddenly scaring the Celeste.

Celeste placed her hand on the chest to calm her beating heart. "She is there". Celeste pointed at the direction of her bed.

Noah went there and saw her injured body. Her forehead was covered in a bandage, from the band he can tell that there is a big wound there.

She opened her eyes carefully, as her head was still dizzy. She was looking scared. Her eyes were filled with moisture. He held her hand, "I am here. It's okay".

Noah did not ask her anything. Looking at her scared face it is easy to tell that someone must have done this to her. Carissa was drowsy due to medications. Her forehead needed stitches and some pieces of the glass pierced through her skin. A minor surgery was needed to get rid of them.

He completed all the formalities and let the doctors treat her.

Outside the operation theater Noah, Celeste and Edwin were sitting. Edwin also came a while ago. Celeste ignored him, at this moment she did not want to argue with him at all.

"Who did that?" His cold voice pierced through the air as he looked at the Celeste.

"I don't know what happened in detail. Some employees found her injured in the restroom. We can't look at the CCTV footage". Celeste told him the major details.

"CCTV footage…… we can see it. We can see who entered and who left". Edwin said.

Noah nodded and dialed a number, and ordered the person to check CCTV footage of Zak real estates. He told the location and the timings too.

There was a complete chilling silence once again. The air was so heavy that Edwin and Celeste found it difficult to breath.

Within 10 minutes his phone beeped as he received a file. He opened it and saw only one person entering and leaving when she was inside. His eyes turned cold. Celeste also saw the person, "Oh God. My guess was right". She commented while looking at the video.
