Mrs. Zak held the leg of her husband. She has to hang on for survival. It was hurting her self esteem badly but she decided to throw away the damn pride for the time being. Of course, if Mr. Zak will forgive her now, she will seek her revenge at all costs. Even though she is well aware that, it won't be of much help but there is nothing bad about going all the way. It was her last futile effort. The tables were already turned, the only choice left was to apologize and make Mr. Zak believe once again. She cannot let all the efforts go in vain. She spent days and nights to get what she has. This is not a drama in which there is a happy ending for the leads and the villains are left with nothing but unfortunately, she miscalculated her steps. Because this is a novel. (Don't laugh guys. LOL)

Mr. Zak kicked his wife, "STAY AWAY". She stumbled back on the floor. He roared. His eyes turning red due to the pain, betrayal, guilt towards Carissa. All the emotions were over weighting him. He felt his heart falling in the pith.

Jia was shocked to see the whole situation. This has never happened before. She has always seen her parents having a good relation. She always wanted to have a love life like them. But little does she know, the relationships whose foundation is not firm or based on the lies and betrayal never have a good ending.

It was a huge blow for her too. To some extent she has contributed to what happened. She holds a responsibility too. Jia though that her father will forgive them without thinking about Carissa as she is a disposal for them.

But Carissa is his daughter too if Jia is his daughter. He will be selfish if he will not take action against them.

If the situation will continue to south for Jia and her mother it will really be the end for them. With disappointment, Jia thought of a way to apologize once again but before she could Mr. Zak shut her mouth.

"I will send you the divorce papers within 24 hours. You better behave and sign them." He announced his sentence. Now, the verdict was out. They can do nothing.

"No Dad, you cannot do such a thing". Jia spoke with tears in her eyes. She made her voice as pitiful as she could. The voice which melted the heart of the father in the past. But it is not only his responsibility to always play the role of a good father. They should contribute too. We always clap with two hands.

This time he wanted to be a good father for Carissa this time. He wanted to make up for the past mistakes.

Mr. Zak did not even spare a single glance to Jia, "I will not give you a single penny from my hard earned money. Get out of our lives. This is the best that I can do for you". He does not have the courage to punish them except throwing them out of the lives. He looked at Carissa and treated the rest of the audience in the room as invisible, "I am sorry. You suffered because of me, I am the reason for everything. You can deal with them. Punish them as you want. I will not question your judgement". He spoke instantly. The guilt was too much for him. It was hard to look in her eyes. He failed to fulfill his duties because he was always busy in making money and without his knowledge this money turned into the snakes which bit him hard and the venom spread throughout the whole family.

Carissa was silent all the while. What she can do with them? She does not know.

Mrs. Zak broke the chain of her thoughts, "Carissa please forgive us. I am sorry….I am really sorry. I promise we will never disturb you again. Please ask your father not to divorce me". Mrs. Zak spoke in a single breath. If Carissa will forgive them then, Mr. Zak will forgive them too.

"What about the damage you have already caused?" She does not want to talk to her but she questioned them with the eyes full of hatred. At least it is her right to know why did they do this to her, "My mother cannot return to life. You even erased her from my memories. No matter how hard I try to remember her I cannot see her face." The tears trickled down her face, "You damaged…..my body, my soul. I couldn't meet my own eyes. I despise myself. For the last 8 years I could sleep without pills. Every night I am scared…scared that history will repeat again. How are you going to compensate me about what you have already done?". Her voice was getting louder and louder sending shivers down their spines. There was no answer. She shut their mouths up. Tears were not under her control. They were rolling down from her grey eyes, staining her face. All the horrible nights were playing like a film in her mind. How lonely she was?

How much she craved for the support of someone?

How much she wanted them to offer her a shoulder?

Instead they made her lonelier.

Everyone hung their heads low even Dylan too. It is the fault of everyone. All of them were the cause of her suffering. "I never harmed you… then why the hell all of you did this to me?" She glanced at the whole room. Her voice was shaking and wavering. Noah felt very sad. She never opened up this much even with him. For the first time he was getting to know her true feelings. If he would have been with her long ago she would not have suffered this much. At least he would have helped her even if it means a drop in an ocean. He held her trembling hand, his heart was aching. But this is the last time he will let her cry. He promised this before too, and he felt bad for breaking it.

Carissa inhaled a fair amount of air to calm herself down after feeling his warmth touch on the skin. She wiped her tears with the back of her hand. "I am sorry, I cannot forgive you now. No matter how hard I try, I really can't." Carissa said to Mrs. Zak. She needs a time to forgive them. It is not as easy as she imagined.

Mrs. Zak was losing her sanity, "The legal time period has already expired you cannot do anything to us". She mocked Carissa by using her trump card.

Carissa fumed in anger again. She hasn't learnt her lesson yet and Carissa has no energy left to deal with them now. She feels disgusted to even look at them.

"You can take care of them". Carissa said to Noah. It was the best choice and she believes that he will deal with them according to what they have done. "The police cannot do anything to you, but I can". His voice pierced the thin air scattering their last hope.

Mrs. Zak and Jia went pale, he is really ruthless. Looking at Dylan they can tell how much he has tortured him. "Don't worry, I will not torture you like him." Noah read their thoughts and answered their unspeakable questions, killing the curiosity, "How about being in the cell of a mental hospital at a deserted island?" He raised an eyebrow in amusement.

This was worst. In other words he was telling them to die, without leaving any way out. They will really die there and not a single person in the world will be able to trace them against his will.

"Please don't do this…" Mrs. Zak and Jia begged to him again, but three of them turn a blind eye.

"The decision is yours it doesn't matter". Mr. Zak said to Noah, closing the case, making them go quiet.

"Do as I said. Take them away". Noah ordered the Aaron. He was aware of the discomfort that Carissa is feeling. Aaron immediately complied to his orders and some guards came to take them away. They literally dragged their begging bodies out of the room. Carissa saw them leaving. She was emotionless. Despite having a kind her they helplessness could not melt her. She called James, making him halt and said to her father, "Let him go. I am thankful that he helped in bringing the truth in light". Noah agreed with her too. He was not an accomplice, he was doing his duty which led to a crime and it all happened without his knowledge. He was guilty for not telling the truth sooner and helped them a lot. They can forgive him.

"Thank you". James looked gratefully at Carissa. Noah nodded at Aaron and let him go. Dylan has given up. He did not resist as it was not going to affect them any way and why would they melt? When they are the reason behind for turning them into stony ones and if they will reflect on their selves they are the one who turned them in to monsters.

Carissa let out a sigh of massive relief. Fortunately, this matter was settled and she felt her heart light. A heavy burden was took off. Of course, her mother would be happy and proud of her in heavens for being a filial and strong daughter.

Carissa broke all the prejudices against the women and Noah did too. He accepted a stigmatized woman and loved her to the heart content and helped her in getting out of the fiery pit. Instead of despising such victims, they should be loved. It wasn't their fault.
