"Come in". Edwin's father said when he heard the knock on the door. He took off the glasses and put the book on the table. He knew who was on the door.

When the door opened, a tall figure entered the room. Yes a.k.a Edwin. He closed the door behind and looked nervously at the father.

"Is everything fine? Are you not well? Go to the doctor." He became concerned to see him.

"No, no Dad. I am perfectly fine. I just wanted to talk to you." He told him and sat on the chair beside him. Edwin was having trouble in finding the exact words to initiate the conversation with him.

"What is it, Edwin? Why do you look so stressed? You can share it with me". He tried to relax him.

Edwin lifted up his head to look at his old and tired face. "Dad actually I wanted to say....." he hesitated and his father did not rush him, "I am sorry". Edwi  said in a hurry and closed his eyes. "I am sorry". He repeated under his breath again.

"Sorry? For what?" The old man was confused.

"For being a bad son.

For being rude.

For always slamming the door on your face.

For making you worried about me all the time.

For everything".

His father was surprised by his sudden confession. "Edwin, you are my son and I never hated you and I should be the one to apologize. You have gone through a lot just because of me.... because of my incompetence and my wrong decisions." He couldn't provide him what he deserved.

"Dad, I met that woman....." Edwin did not use the word mother but his father understood him completely. There is only one woman in the whole world about whom he talks this way.

"Really.. when? What did she say?" He asked but to be honest he does not want to talk about her.

"On the day of the accident. In a restaurant coincidentally. She hasn't changed a bit. Still the same. Changing man-like clothes and trying to fulfill her lustful desires". Edwin spoke bitterly and spit the venom.

"You shouldn't talk about her in this tone. Remember Edwin, the fact that she is your mother.... can't be changed". He explained.

"And I hate myself for it." Edwin said indifferently.

"I have forgiven her and you should do it too, Edwin. That's the only way we can move on from the past. Otherwise we will be stuck in the past." He held his hand, "and stop resenting yourself". His words stunned Edwin. What was he talking about?

"Dad, why are you......" he stopped talking.

"I know. I am your father. I know what you have been thinking during the past 20 years. You did your best to keep us bound and when she left you thought you weren't good enough for the family and believe me you are the best son. Our family was just not meant to be. Now, you have gotten a new family. Celeste is a good girl. Take care of her okay?"

Edwin nodded. He is really happy with her, Erin and father. The presence and absence of an outsider does not affect him anymore. "Try to forgive her and move on".

"Okay, Dad and thank you for not giving up on me". He was genuine with his words.

"How can I give up on you? You are the most precious person I have. You are so strong to hang on under all the unfavourable circumstances. I am proud of you". He patted his shoulder at which Edwin could only smile. He regretted being unfair with his father. If he didn't push him away in the past, they would have had a great time in the past. Still, it is never late until you realize your mistakes and reaching out to others is nothing to be ashamed of.

Edwin's father was happy to see his son once again.

At the moment, someone was continuously knocking on the door and with a sound the father and son duo knew who's there.

"I will look". Edwin informed him and went to open the door and saw Erin crawling all over the place and behind Celeste ran to pick her up. "It's okay. I will look after her". Edwin informed Celeste before picking up Erin.

He took her in his arms and again took a seat with the father. Erin became excited to see her grandfather. She jumped with excitement.

"You two have gotten really close...." Edwin commented with little jealousy in the voice. His father laughed at his reaction. "Of course, we have gotten close". He took her from him and continued, "What do you plan to do? Will you continue your career as a commercial pilot or have any interest in managing the business?" He wanted to know about his future plans.

"You already know Dad, I don't like to stay in the 4 walls of the office. I like to be in the sky..... above the clouds``. His one sentence was enough to tell the father about his future plans.

"Okay, I understand and how long will Celeste work at Zak real estates? She should join my work". No matter what, all the business is there. The old man wanted to involve any of them in the business. Since Edwin does not have any plan then Celeste can. She has experience and is a hard worker. It doesn't matter if it is a small position or being an executive or a CEO.

"That will be her decision and I will support her". Edwin told him.

Noah and Carissa named their son as Silas..... Silas Whites. As he was growing up, he was becoming more and more like his father. There wasn't even any need to tell the people that Silas is the son of Noah Whites.

Carissa stopped working at the office for the time being to focus on the family. Meanwhile, he started to come home late day by day.

It was almost midnight when he opened the door of the room. Carissa was exhausted after looking at the baby sitting during the whole day. Even though their son was not naughty but he was best at being stubborn and throwing tantrums even at this age.

She opened her eyes slightly to look at him and he appeared to be tired too.

"You got the time to come home?" She asked with sarcasm and he narrowed his eyes at her.

"I had a meeting with the delegates. I got late due to the time difference." He explained even though he does not want to give any excuses.

Noah started to take off his shoes, tie and wrist watch.

At that moment, the baby got up too and started to cry.

"Why is he crying now?" He asked with little frustration.

"Noah, he is a baby and they cry. There is no need to act so aggravated about it". She was fuming mad at him but controlled the urge to argue with him and started to feed the baby.

"Okay. I will sleep in the study room". He said, took the pillow and got out of the room.

"What the....." she controlled herself to say anything further.

In the morning, after completing her own and baby's morning routine she went down stairs and saw him sitting on the dining table. Noah was busy looking at some documents.

"Good morning". She sounded normal and tried her best to not to recall the incident from last night.

"Good morning". He did the same.

Carissa poured herself a glass of juice.

"Are you busy these days?" She initiated a conversation with him and in response he just nodded. "Are you busy with a project?" She questioned again and while staring at the tablet PC he replied, "Yes".

He sounded so indifferent to her that for a while she became concerned. Why? What's the reason? This never happened before.

"Is something wrong?" This time she was worried.

Noah stopped eating and put back the fork to its place and glared intensely in her eyes. "I told you I am busy with work. Why are you suddenly interrogating me in this way?" He was frustrated and left her there with a stunned expression on face.
