Henry, in a state of panic, waved his hands desperately.
"Selena, calm down. It's not good for the baby. If you don't want to see me, I'll get out of your way. I promise I won't show up again! Please don't be mad!"
He scurried behind a tree, but not before adding, "Check out the cafeteria's private room later. I left your favorite cheese pasta there. Make sure you go!"

My heart was pounding, and I could not rein in my emotions.
What was he thinking? Was he not supposed to marry Melanie? Why abandon her and come all the way to United Germland to find me?
At the cafeteria, I dodged the private room and picked a random spot in the main area.
Staring at the food behind the glass, my stomach turned. I could not eat.
However, Henry's words about the cheese pasta haunted me. Real Itanian dishes were a rarity there.
It had been ages since I had had pasta.

With a sigh, I grabbed a piece of steak and headed back to my table.
To my surprise, there was a box of hot pasta waiting for me at my usual spot.
The sight of the authentic, mouthwatering dish nearly brought tears to my eyes.
From then on, my life seemed to be filled with mysterious appearances of my favorite foods.

My classmates were suddenly extra nice, snagging the best seats for me in class, sharing notes, even volunteering for my turn at classroom chores.
I knew all that was Henry's doing.
He was still pampering me, despite our divorce, even though he thought I had moved on and was pregnant with someone else's child.
At first, I tried to push it all away. His tenderness was like a web, intricate and all-encompassing, and I was caught in it, unable to break free.
It was six months into my pregnancy when Berkrone was graced with its first snow.
That morning, as I opened the window, a blanket of white greeted me, covering the world in silence and peace. However, the path to the university was clear, not a snowflake in sight, as if someone had carefully swept it all away.
The lady next door beamed at me. "Good morning! Isn't it a beautiful day? Some good Samaritan cleared the snow off the path. We're lucky, aren't we?"
I nodded, swallowing the lump in my throat, fighting the tears that threatened to spill.
I ducked into the alley by the apartment, and there was Henry, just as I expected. His pants and hair were soaked, his clothes dotted with melting snowflakes. He looked like a mess. Spotting me, he tried to retreat, but I caught his arm.
Tears blurred my vision, and as they fell, Henry's eyes widened in alarm. He reached out awkwardly, trying to wipe them away.
"I... I didn't mean for you to find me. I'll go, I'll go now!" he stuttered, worried I might be upset.
I said nothing, just reached up and pressed my lips to his. He had shown me his love in so many ways, and my heart had never let him go.
What was there to question anymore?
Henry froze for a moment, but then he kissed me back with a passion that shook us both. His hands trembled as he held me, his face a mix of happiness and solemnity.
When we finally parted, he held me close, his face etched with regret.
"I'm sorry, Selena. I couldn't resist... I can be your secret. I won't let your husband find out," he murmured against my neck, his voice tinged with a sad sort of hope.
I laughed, a bright, clear sound in the quiet alley. "What are you talking about? There's no husband. It's always been you, Henry. Only you."
Henry froze, and after what felt like an eternity, his face lit up with wild joy.
