Tears clung to Selena's lashes as she cried pitifully—a sight I once couldn't bear to see.
"I know I was wrong! I really do! Please give me another chance, okay? I won't ever meet with Shane again, and I'll have that tattoo removed! Let's just live a good life together, alright?"
However, I merely fixed her with an indifferent gaze.

"Give you a chance? I already gave you three years' worth of chances, Selena. They ran out long ago, starting from the moment you had me take those harmful pills every day for the sake of another man. The instant you stood by and did nothing but watch as Shane humiliated me in public, all that was left between us was hate."
A tremor coursed through her body at my words as she finally realized that I was serious this time.
Her crying abruptly stopped and was replaced by an almost hysterical madness.
"Adrian Luther, who do you think you are?" She jumped to her feet and ripped the divorce agreement into pieces. "You're nothing but a dog the Sander family took in! I was the one who gave you everything you have now!
"If it weren't for my dad's approval, you wouldn't have been able to even afford the rent for that crappy studio of yours! Now that you've grown wings, you think you can fly? Dream on!"
I took in the snarl twisting her features, the very last vestiges of warmth I had held for her swiftly vanishing.

"I fought for and obtained everything I have with my own efforts. If it weren't for you, my company would've already been listed long ago.
"As for your dad, the only reason he invested in me back then was because he was interested in my skills and wanted me to work for Sander Group. That's all.
"I was just too stupid, foolishly giving up everything I had for a worthless woman like you."
With that, I didn't bother wasting any more breath on her and turned to leave.

"You'll regret this, Adrian! You'll definitely regret doing this!"
Selena continued to shriek behind me, but I never looked back.
Regret? The thing I regretted most was falling in love with her.
After that, I moved out of that house filled with nothing but lies and humiliation and made my studio my new home. Then, I contacted the best lawyer I could find and started the divorce procedure. At the same time, I restarted my company—ATech.
The team I had disbanded three years ago swiftly reconvened within 24 hours after I called for them to gather.
"Adrian, we've been waiting for this day for three entire years."
I swept a gaze across their faces, feeling a complicated mix of emotions at their trust in me. Subsequently, I told them that our first target would be to snag Terrone Corporation's security system project, the Skynet Project.
Both Sander Group and Shane's company were aiming to get this project, so this wouldn't just be a business competition but also my revenge.
News spread quickly that the tech genius, A, who had disappeared three years ago for love, had finally returned. Everyone in the industry was utterly dumbfounded.
Naturally, Selena and Shane also heard of it. I could already imagine their bewildered and furious expressions.
With that, the drums of war were sounded.

In the conference room at Sander Group, the atmosphere was heavy with tension.
Selena's father, Samuel Sander, was the chairman of Sander Group. At that moment, he was sitting at the head of the table, his expression stony.
"Just who can tell me what's the deal with this 'ATech' company? How dare that worthless piece of trash, Adrian, fight me for the project?"
Selena stood off to the side, her face pale as she kept quiet. She hadn't expected that the man who usually acted as docile as a rabbit when in her presence would actually be hiding such sharp claws and teeth.
An executive member spoke up carefully, "Mr. Sander, Adrian Luther… seems to be A, the legendary hacker. He's extremely skilled, and plenty of major corporations tried to get him to join their companies back then. However, he suddenly vanished three years ago."
Smacking a hand on the table, Samuel roared, "I don't care if he's A or B! We have to get the Skynet Project!"
