Chapter Nine
I sat by the window at the dinner and watched the street outside while taking a sip of my vanilla yoghurt once in while.
It was already lunch time and Gale had asked to meet me here.

I was glad that Kenneth had stopped sending me silly messages and disturbing my peace, it's like allowing him to be a little close to me was the worst idea, he just couldn't stop his craziness.
As I was lost in thought, Gale walked in to Maggie's diner, the bell above chimed at his presence making me look up.
He was dressed in a grey short sleeved t-shirt and a pair of jeans, His hair was disorganized and his eyes shone with great happiness.
I watched as he looked around before his eyes fell on me, sending me a smile he walked towards me and I smiled at him.
"Gale .." My words were cut short when he placed a simple peck on my lips before pulling away and taking a sit on the chair across me.
" You seem more quiet today, what's wrong ?" I whispered staring at my man.

" I talked to my mom about us and it didn't go well Amelia " he replied and I felt my self sink.
I knew his mother would never buy the idea of us being together, I had hope but now it was shattered.
My eyes moved back to Gale and I could see his sadness, it was had to see him like this especially now. I pushed my chair back and stood up walking over to him, I pushed the table slightly then sat on his laps.
His arms wrapped around my waist pulling me more close, my arms locked behind his neck as I laid my head on his shoulder.

" so what are we going to do ? " I whispered tugging on his hair. Gale looked down at me before letting out a sigh and closing his eyes.
" Am moving out of my father's house " He replied and my eyes grew wide.
"Gale.."
"I have to do this Amelia don't talk me into something else" he added and my lips shut on their own.
This is what I was trying to avoid in the first place, him fighting with his mom and now it was happening yet I couldn't do anything now.
I just held tight on to my man as silence took over us, both our thoughts seemed to travel far away at the moment and I didn't care as long as he still held me like this.
I didn't want our little time together to end but also my lunch time was over and I had to go.
"Gale " I whispered and got a kiss on my forehead as a reply, I sat up slowly looking at him.
" can you pick me up later " I asked staring deep in to his eyes, I didn't like seeing him like this, it really hurt so much. I wanted the happy, cheerful and lively him back.
"Of course " He replied and I nodded, saying my goodbyes I stood up with the intention to go back to work and prepare for my first court case that would be happening soon. I placed a light kiss on his lips.
Grabbing my bag and yoghurt I turned around and then left, it was hard to leave him in that condition but the only way to prove to his mom that am worthy of him is to build my carrier.
My day went quickly though my mind kept drifting back to Gale numerous times, the way I had left him earlier tugged at my heart painfully.
I kept calling him but he never replied at all which got me on the edge, I was worried yet I had to focus on reading the evidence and getting ready for my first court session.
Time to get off work arrived soon and I kept checking my phone while waiting for Gale to come, everyone had started leaving and before I knew it the building was empty except for me.
I walked out of my office then to the elevator which led me direct to the lobby.
I looked at my phone again but there was nothing, I walked out of the building greeting the security guard outside. I looked around but there was no Gale.
I searched through my hand bag then pulled out a hand kerchief placing it on one of the two stairs that are in front of my office building, I sat down and decided to wait, placing my bag aside.
I couldn't take my eyes off my phone while searching the streets for a familiar figure.
My heart was starting to sink with sadness, I was starting to give up on hoping, he wasn't coming after all.
As I was looking down at my phone, two feet appeared in my view.
A slow smile graced my lips and my heart drummed against my chest " Gale " I said standing up before freezing, My smile turned into a frown and I sat back down.
"What are you doing here Kenneth ?" I asked, averting my gaze at my phone, I dialed Gale's number once again but he didn't take the call.
Was he busy at the hospital or he did he misplace his phone, I just don't know what to think now.
" You don't seem happy to see me " Kenneth said as he sat down next to me, I turned to look at him before trying Gale's phone again and again.
"Who is Gale ?" Kenneth added and I turned to look at him, before I could reply my eyes caught a familiar figure that was walking our way, dressed in a beautiful black Armani suit with a white dressed shirt inside and a blue tie.
I had never seen this new Gale, his hair combed back and his eyes shining brightly.
I slowly stood up as my lips parted in surprise, am sure all the women around couldn't stop lookin, my man was hot.
I couldn't help the smile that graced my lips and I shook my head in amusement as I slowly walked up to him.
" Mr. Hilton " I said as I stood in front of him, I couldn't even take my eyes off him.
" Miss Rose " He replied in a professional voice and my smile widened.
I couldn't take it any longer so I threw my self at him, hugging him tight my hand's wrapped around his neck and I laughed lightly before stepping away
" I thought you wouldn't come " I whispered as he placed a light kiss on my forehead.
"Sorry am late, I just had to attend a party but you were still on my heart and mind through those torturing hours " he added and I giggled before remembering something.
I stepped out of Gale's arms and turned around to look for Kenneth, he was still sitting where I left him but his face held emotions that I didn't try to understand or I was just thinking it cause the next second his face was blank.
"Gale " I whispered grabbing his arm and pulling him towards Kenneth.
" Gale this is my client and friend Kenneth Carlin Rogers " I introduced turning to Kenneth who had stood up.
" Gale Hilton " he added holding out his hand for Kenneth to shake politely which Kenneth did before looking at me for an explanation. Holding on to Gale's arm "My boyfriend " I whispered with a smile.
I liked the sound of that. Kenneth nodded then looked down at his phone.
" I have to go " He replied in a thick voice before walking away, I never got the chance to say my good byes, I just stood watching his retreating back.
" Let's get you home " Gale said pulling my attention back to him, I nodded and moved forward grabbing my bag and phone.
I said a simple goodnight to security guard then held Gale's hand and we walked away, soon enough I had managed to get Kenneth off my mind as we talked through our journey.
Gale's hand wrapped around my shoulder and neither could I take my eyes off him today, he knew how to make me laugh without trying.
Am sure with the way he understood me, I didn't make a mistake when I decided to be with him, I didn't make a mistake when I fell in love with Gale.
Every time I looked up at him, I saw my perfect life and future with him.
He made me love the present and the future even though there's a lot we haven't talked out, this relationship seemed okay to me.
" Gale " I whispered as we entered my apartment building, he looked down at me with a smile.
" You want to talk about that again " he whispered back and I nodded " let's first get you to your apartment ".
I smiled faintly as we took the elevator, silence comforted us on the way until I was standing in front of my door.
I pulled out my keys and unlocked the door, me and Gale walked in.
I left my shoes on the door mat and threw my bag on the couch.
Walking deeper in to the room, I placed my keys in the bowl on the table in the living room as I was standing up, two hands wrapped around me from behind.
" I had a fight with my mom today and she said stuff about you that made me flip " He whispered and it shook me hard when I felt the sadness in his voice, turning around in his arms to gazed up at him.
" It became a verbal war, she said things like your not worthy of me, you're an orphan and a low class " he added removing my hair softly out of the tight bun.
I just kept looking at him waiting for him to let it all out, I knew that some how it was still weighing hard on his shoulders. " She threatened to take away my father's hospital from my hands " .
" I couldn't take it anymore so I told her that I will be handing her back all the necessary documents and even move out of her house if she couldn't just accept the woman I love " his last words hit me like a blow.
I gazed up at him not knowing what else to do but hug him tight.
" Gale " I whispered as my tears started to fall down my face " You shouldn't have done that, she's still your mom " I added but then he pulled away and looked at down at me.
Pushing my hair out of my face, my whole body still shook with sobs as I stared up at this man that was leaving everything just for me. " Your beautiful Amelia " He whispered placing a kiss on my forehead.
" you're so beautiful Amelia, you're understanding and easy going, you are wise and hardworking. I want to give my mom a chance to see all that in you " he added.
" Now can you stop crying, Am just moving out not giving up on her yet, I don't want to see you like this " he added and I nodded trying hard to rubbed my tears away though I was failing miserably.
" What.. What are you going to do now ?" I whispered looking deep in to his eyes.
" Am going to search for an apartment to leave in, I already have a new job in a government hospital " he replied and I nodded then something clicked in mind.
" The company gave me a new apartment, maybe you could leave there " I spoke up and pulled away, I hurriedly walked to my bag and started to search through it until my eyes fell on that card again.
I pulled it out and stared at it for a while, it was the swiping card that led me in to that apartment. As I was still staring at it with a happy smile Gale stood by side " why don't we move in together ?" he spoke up and I froze, my eyes widening as I looked up at him
