~Zayne~

Luther split our troop into two.

Myself and Rowan and a few other warriors, we're going round the back to the castle and Luther and the others are going through the front.

We sneaked through the large bushes around to the back.

We crouched under some bushes, as we scanned through the area.

My eyes went searching around the area.

I spotted three guards, sitting down at the entrance to the castle, while the other stood by the corner, his eyes were a bit heavy as he battled with the great urge to close his eyes and sleep off.

'Okay guys we have to be smart on when we strike"

I whispered to the Lycans under my control.

We watched from the bushes, patiently planning and observing.

'Cedric And Rowan take them out"

Enough waiting, it's time for some real action. I didn't want to take any chances with these guards so I have to employ the big guns for this

'Okay Zayne" they said simultaneously. Rising from the bushes, they walked closer to the guard, still unnoticed their steps silent as the night.

'Argggh"

I watched from the bushes as Rowan and Cedric on reaching them, shifted into lycans and pounced on them.

Rowan took two swipes at one of the guards sitting by the door.

He dropped instantly to the floor. The third guard jumped on him from behind, wrapping his arms round the neck of Rowan.

He began squeezing tightly against him, his face gradually turning purple.

Rowan pulled out his claws and sunk it into the back of the vampire guard.

Sinking it very deep, the blood flowed profusely.

The vampire gradually let go of his grip around Rowan and with one last sink inside his flesh, he finally dropped dead to the floor.

Cedric had already taken out the last guard there.

They peeped through a partial opening on the door into the castle yard, after a few seconds they turned back in our direction.

'The coast is clear"Cedric said, his voice audible, but he tried his best to avoid it being too loud.

'Let's go!"

We walked through the door and now into their courtyard.

Everywhere as expected as quiet, the courtyard was vastly empty.

'We have to go the warriors quarter"

I whispered to the Lycans with me.

We walked gently through the yard, our footsteps silent.

We didn't want to get the attention of any royals in the castle, neither Vadka or anyone.

According to Luther's instructions, the warriors quarter just passed a few rooms.

We quickly spotted the hallway to the quarters.

There were various rooms on either side of the hall.

And a couple of warriors were conversing just outside it.

We have to be smart enough to kill those two without alerting the rest.

'James and Kristoff!"

Two warriors stepped out from the troop.

They were our best ninjas. They were well trained in the art of silent kill.

We dim them our secret weapon for emergencies like this, that doesn't require brute force.

'Take out the two of them, as silent as possible"

I whispered to them. They nodded in reply and turned to the door.

They were already dressed for the task.

They both dressed in black from top to bottom.

Only their face was left exposed.

They gently pushed the door open, and hid by a corner of the hall.

They sneaked closer and closer to the warriors.

They didn't even notice a single sound, the ninjas were as silent as night itself.

Coming behind them, they both pulled out daggers, measuring their men, one for each.

They slit their throats open. The warriors drop flat on the floor.

Blood gushing through their necks and staining the floor.

'Let's move"

We quietly moved into the hallway, scanning through the rooms, most of them were already asleep and a few were still up.

'OK, it's about to get very ugly now.

Lycans invade each room and kill as many warriors as possible and do it quickly"

They nodded in reply, their brows furrowed. Their look was intentful.

Those who had weapons pulled them out at once.

They then marched into the rooms. I stood at a distance, the distant scream of agony reached my ears.

'Rowan, come here!" I called Rowan over. 'Watch with me from the door for any visitors. And if anything goes off, we go out through the there"

I pointed at a window by the end of the hallway.

'We go through there and out of the castle we're taking the shortcut out, OK?"

'Yeah it is.

How many minutes do you have left?" Rowan asked, referring to the time I had left before I transformed into a beast.

Taking a quick glance at my watch.

'About thirty minutes.

Now is not time for that, assume your position"

Rowan and I headed to the door, we carefully watched for any vampires coming in this direction.

Luther!

I could only wonder how he and the others are coping.

They need to take out the warriors in the other quarters.

My troops carried on killing the warriors. We caught them well off guard, and they were ill prepared.

Some vampires were strong enough to put up a real fight, it took a 2 on 1 to take a few down.

'Oh no! Zayne!"

Rowan alerted me, his voice tinged with worry.

I turned to the door, my heart almost skipped a beat.

An angry Vadka marching in our direction.

'Rowan got everyone out to safety through the window.

Alert Luther to retreat as well"

'You can't handle him…… '

'Go now Rowan!!"

I couldn't let him finish speaking.

Without any hesitation, Rowan raced to the troops.

'Everyone retreat!!!"

Rowan screamed at the top of his voice.

'Now!"

The warriors rushed to the end of the hallway. Most of the vampire warriors, we're either dead or badly injured, so our job here was almost done.

My heart calmed down a bit as I saw my Lycan troops escaping through the window.

I turned back in the direction of an angry Vadka.

He smashed the door open, he was boiling with immense rage.

He gritted his teeths, his brows furrowed and his fists tightly clenched.

'You dare come here kill my people! You coward! Now you die!"

Vadka's insanely large figure covered me. His shadow covered the full length of my body as I looked up at him.

Vadka in the blink of an eye, charged at me. His fists came straight for me.

I managed to manoeuvre a swift turn away from him as he punched the fresh air.

'Arrhhgg!!"

Vadka was the most infuriated.

I noticed a few vampire warriors coming in my direction.

I can't fight Vadka here, I'm outnumbered.

I need to escape.

Vadka charged at me again like a bulldozer ready to crush through me.

I used my fast reflexes to dodge his punch again.

I bent low to his knees.

This was my chance.

I took a massive swipe at his thigh.

'Argg. You little bitch!!" Vadka groaned out a mix of pain and anger.

I didn't wait a minute longer. I raced away from him and his rushing warriors and to the window.

With Vadka's incredible speed, he managed to grab my fur, right when I was about to jump through.

With his hands around my neck, he raised me from the ground. His hold was choking me a little.

'You dare! How so lowly of the Lycan king. You sneak into my kingdom and kill my warriors before the even started"

'Lies!! Don't prove innocent Vadka. You ticked off a fire when you attacked Flora, an innocent maid"

I said with no fear at all.

Vadka's wore a puzzled face. He looked a bit dumbfounded on hearing my words.

'Flora? Are you insane? Nobody from my kingdom attacked Flora"

What?

'Impossible!"

'You've started a war on a false belief, too bad you won't survive to see it"

Vadka raised his massive hands in the hair ready to finish me.

'Argg!!" I roared out in pain.

Oh no! It's happening

A huge lump appeared on my back, my body size began to add.

Vadka let go of me, taking a few steps back.

My sharp claws doubled in size.

My body size was now almost twice that of Vadka's.

'What is this?" Vadka couldn't believe his ears.

'Die you monster!"

Vadka sped to me and stabbed my heart with his claws.

But I felt nothing!

I grabbed him and tossed him to the other side of the hall effortlessly.

I broke through the walls of the hall and rammed into the forest.

The beast got a full and firm hold on me, and soon I lost consciousness and blacked out instantly.

~Luther~

We took out the guards by the entrance gate with ease and marched into the courtyard

'You guys go into the quarters and me and Thorn will be your eyes"

The troops of warriors I was with, obeyed blindly to my instructions.

They went into the hallway where the vampire warriors stay.

'Thorn, the plan is in full motion!!" I said, I struggled to contain my excitement.

'Now what?"

'Now, we alert Vadka on Rowan and Zayne's whereabouts.

Follow me!"

I walked upstairs in the direction of Vadka's room and Thorn followed behind.

'Hey! We have lycan intruders!!" The guard who stood in front of Vadka's room signalled out.

'Calm down. We come in peace. We're here to see Vadka"

'Nonsense, Vadka doesn't deal with lycans" The guard said in a stern voice ready to attack.

'Calm down cadet!"

A stoic voice came from inside the room.

A dark presence stepped out of the room. This aura was unholy and unspoken.

'Luther!

My dear Lycan!"

His voice was friendly but his intent was deadly and painful.

'Vadka, I came to warn you. Zayne and his warriors have breached your defence and are attacking your warriors!"

'What!"

Vadka's eyes shrinked in anger. A sudden rage came over him.

He marched over to me, grabbing my neck. 'Thorn, dont"

I signalled to Thorn, he was about to act against against Vadka in my defence, a decision he would regret"

'Where are they!!" Vadka screamed in my face.

'Zayne is in the quarters by the left and others the one by the right"

I said my breath was shaking.

'Zayne is going to die!"

Vadka tossed me to the other side of the balcony.

He then marched with intent downstairs.

My plan is to work on a peach! Now Vadka will take out both Rowan and Zayne for me.

'Thorn, instruct the other warriors to retreat" I ordered Thorn.

There was no need for them here, they're just putting themselves in danger.

I followed Thorn down to the yard and went by the gate to wait for them.

The warriors trooped out from the castle, today was a very successful day.

We were ready to hide off into the forest. When a voice reached my ears.

'Wait for me!!"

My heart twitched on sight of a figure running towards us.

Rowan! How is he still alive?

Ahh! Okay at least Zayne is dead, one checked out.

I could manage with Rowan around, if he pesters me too much I'll just hang him.

'We have to go back for Zayne, he's in trouble"

Rowan said, his voice very troubled.

'NO we can't, there's no time. We have to leave!

He might be dead already"

Rowan lowered his head, stood frozen at the spot.

'Rowan, are you coming or not? !"

'Yeah!"

Rowan got behind me as we rode the horse back to the kingdom.

We almost reached the day break. The castle was still empty.

Curfew almost still for a couple more hours.

'Today, we might have lost a leader, a king and my brother.

But we gained revenge, freedom and peace!"

I chanted as the troops who were a bit down, vigorously responded.

I walked upstairs to the balcony of the castle.

Taking a view of it all.

It's mine now! It's all mine now!!

I'm the Lycan king.
