KNOCK

KNOCK

I was just getting up from my light sleep when I heard a loud knock on my door.

But even more I could recognize the knock any day any time.

'Come in!"

I yelled out in the direction.

Suddenly, Rowan and Steph gently walked into my room, their hands folded behind their backs for some reason.

'So did you arrest them?" I asked.

'We arrested Crystal… ' Rowan faintly said. His voice very light.

'And Reta got away?" I almost concluded. That explains the gloomy faces.

'We'll, don't worry about it… '

'She didn't!" Rowan cut me off. But his words even stunned me more than this tone.

'What? So you arrested her?" I was really struggling to understand what was really happening.

I was being left with more questions than even answers.

'NO. She was killed."

'Whaat?why! I was instructed not to kill. We already have enough deaths as it is."

I ran out in rage.

The last thing I wanted was another death in barely twenty four hours.

The people might start to question their safety.

'We weren't the ones who killed her. It was a young woman who harbored beef with her. Her name was Scarlett."

Steph added.

'Have you taken care of the body?" I glanced at both of them.

'Yes we have."

'Okay. Don't beat yourself about it too much. As long as there is no other drama today, I think we're okay.

Steph I have to… '

'Flora is alive!" Steph cut me off yelling. Her voice was thundering in the room.

But her words yet again left me speechless.

I couldn't believe my ears.

'What? Impossible."

'No, she's alive in my room right now. We brought her in two days back but we had to wait to take care of Luther to tell anyone." Steph added.

I turned to look at Rowan. His face was emotionless.

Confirming that she wasn't lying.

'Where has she been?" I asked in disbelief.

'Luther kidnapped her and kept her in a cave in the forest.

Me and Rowan freed her but it wasn't safe to take her out until Luther was in jail or… '

'Wow!! This is great news. Take me to her."

We immediately dashed out from my room, and straight to Steph's room.

A sudden joy surged in me, seeing Flora. Her innocent look was staring at me.

'Hi your majesty."

She said to me in a faint voice.

'Hi Flora. We've missed you.

This calls for a celebration!!

But first, I think it's best if you see your parents in the town. They've been worried sick and maybe stay a few days there."

I suggested it to her.

'Okay your majesty." she jumped off the bed in excitement and gave me a soft hug before walking away.

It was as though my joy, couldn't know no bounds.

I haven't felt this happy and peaceful knowing Luther, or Vakda is a problem to me.

'Rowan!"

I called Rowan. He immediately left where he stood with Steph and walked up to me, his posture firm.

'It's time."

I whispered to his ear. He nodded in affirmation before walking out.

And after a few minutes he returned, guards by his side.

And from the midst a figure stepped out into the open.

A figure stepped out, her movements tentative at first, as if unsure of the world outside.

Then, as the sunlight touched her face, her eyes flickered with recognition. A gasp echoed in the still air, and the figure who had been waiting in the shadows, Emily, took a step forward.

"Emily!" Steph cried, her voice trembling as she sprinted toward her sister, arms outstretched.

Emily's lips curled into a soft smile as she looked up, meeting her sister's gaze for the first time since her arrest...

Her sister stopped in her tracks, her breath catching in her throat. It wasn't a cruel, shackled figure before her — it was the same Emoly, only… different.

She looked healthier, more radiant than she had in weeks, the shadows under her eyes gone, her skin glowing.

"You're free," her sister whispered, her voice breaking with the mix of disbelief and relief.

Emily shook her head, stepping forward with an easy, almost playful grace. "I wasn't arrested, Steph," she said softly, her tone filled with a quiet reassurance. "I was never in a cell."

Steph was stunned. "But… they said—everyone said you were arrested. You—"

"I was kept in a place, yes," Sara interrupted gently, her smile growing a little wider. "But it was to protect me from Luther's threat.

And to put an end to his conspiracies for good."

Lila blinked, as if struggling to process the words.

She glanced at me and Rowan. Not knowing what was happening.

Lila's lips parted, disbelief still clinging to her words. "You… you mean, you've been... safe this whole time? While I thought…"

'I've been safe. Rowan took care of me, with other guards as well.

They didn't tell anyone until it was over."

'...I don't care. I'm just glad you're here."

The two sisters hugged themselves tightly, I'm a warm show of love.

When Emily broke the hug, she walked up to me.

I couldn't wait any longer to see her again. These few days without her have been tough.

'Hey Emily." I said softly.

'Hey Zayne. I've missed you." Emily said her voice was very light yet warm.

And with that, I leant over to her and gave her a soft kiss.

The fresh scent of peach on her lips was now on mine.

And then in the next minute, I dropped to a knee.

And my hands went searching in my back pockets.

Emily's expression suddenly changed. Her face was a picture of disbelief.

She had her hands around her mouth, her eyes widened.

'Emily, will you marry me?" I pulled out a small box and opened it, in her face.

A glittering ring sparkled in her face. She couldn't contain her joy.

'Yes I will!!"

She managed to speak.

I stood up immediately and wore her the ring before giving her a warm hug.

And around us, claps thundered through the courtyard.

People surrounded us to witness this moment.

'So, are you ready to get dressed?"

'Yeah."

So together we gently walked up the stairs and retreated back to my room.

Entering my room there seems to be a warm feeling.

Despite the cold wind of the night setting, I could only feel warmth, as Emily stood across me.

I stared deep into her eyes and soul, and the same she did.

I pulled her closer to me. Her lips are just an inch away.

Her warm breath crashed on my face. A romantic tension boiled over.

Reaching its climax, I moved to her lips and planted mine on it.

The kiss was unending, the passion between us was evident.

I kissed her all over my face and I couldn't hold back any more.

After a long while of hiding my deep emotions for her, I could finally satisfy my burning lust.

I kissed her, my lips slipping into her neck. And with a slow show of my teeth, I gently bit at her neck.

My teeth faintly sink deep into her skin. Leaving my mark on her.

Finally!

I could call her mate. And I have my mark on her to show her.

I grabbed her from the floor, lifting her full body in my arms, and then walked carefully to my bed a few steps away.

I gently laid her on the bed, as she lustfully looked into my eyes, while she laid helplessly on my bed.

I leant over to her and planted my lips on hers. And then we romanced all through the night till morning.

'Wait!"

I instantly woke up to the new morning, and then frantically turned to Emily who laid beside me.

'Wait, I didn't transform last night. Why?" I was stunned to the core.

For the first time since Maya died, I've gone the night without transforming.

'You're free, Zayne. Emily, the chosen one has lifted the curse."

I heard a sudden voice light as the wind whispered to my ear.

Her words were very clear in my mind.

'My curse has been lifted!!!"

I startled Emily up from my bed with my loud yell.

I couldn't hold back my joy.

'Really? Oh my. Congrats." Emily leant over to me and gave me a warm hug.

As though my morning couldn't get better.

~Emily~

The full moon hung like a silver lantern in the velvet sky, its light bathing the grand amphitheater in a soft, ethereal glow.

Finally I was getting married to the man of my heart.

I won't lie, I didn't imagine myself a year ago getting married to the Lycan king, but here I am.

The air was thick with the scent of roses and wildflowers, mingling with the earthy undertones of the forest. The ancient trees, towering and majestic, stood as silent witnesses to the union of two worlds—one human, one Lycan.

The ceremony has unofficially begun, I glanced around looking at all the guests. Zayne did his best to invite a few humans over for the ceremony.

I could see some familiar faces all well dressed, Cedric, Flora.

My eyes soon caught the two love figures of Steph, and Rowan.

They held each other so tight, their love was indispensable.

Considering how they started it was a bit of a surprise they're together.

I stood at the center of it all, my heart racing, my breath catching as the murmurs of the gathered crowd—human and Lycan alike—faded into a single, collective hush.

The scent of his cologne, a blend of pine and musk, wrapped around me as his warm, commanding presence filled the space. His eyes, glowing amber, locked with mine, and for a moment, I forgot the world entirely.

I wasn't just marrying the Lycan king. I was marrying hope—the hope that our love could bridge the rift between two worlds that had been at war for centuries.

His hand, large and strong, slid into mine, his claws now retracted, his touch tender. His fur-lined cloak brushed against my skin as he pulled me closer, and I felt the wild power of his being, tempered with an unspoken promise of protection.

The ceremony began with the Elders chanting in an ancient tongue, their voices deep and resonant, echoing through the clearing. The ground beneath us seemed to hum with energy as they invoked the gods of the forest, calling for blessings on our union. I had always believed in love, in the idea of fate, but this—this felt like something more. This was destiny, woven into the fabric of the night.

The king—my Zayne —placed a delicate silver chain around my neck, its clasp cool against my skin. His voice, deep and smooth, rang out across the gathering, echoing with authority and love. "With this bond, we seal the peace. Not just between our people, but between our hearts. Forever, you and I."

My pulse thundered in my chest, the weight of his words both humbling and empowering. The crowd remained still, their eyes focused on us—some in awe, some in disbelief—but all hopeful.

As the final blessing was spoken, a roar rose from the Lycans gathered, their wolf forms briefly visible in the shifting shadows, their eyes gleaming with approval. My heart swelled. This was more than just a marriage. This was the dawn of a new era.

The king pulled me into his arms, and as he kissed me, the world seemed to fade away. His lips were warm, his scent intoxicating, and I felt the wildness of him, the untamed power of a creature who could tear worlds apart, yet chose to protect mine.

When the kiss ended, the moon was higher, and the forest seemed to pulse with the promise of a future born from our love. I, a simple human girl, had become the symbol of peace between our worlds. And as I gazed into his amber eyes, I knew this—our love—was the bond that would unite us all.
