Charlotte followed him to the edge of the cliff and all of a sudden, he shouted,

'I hate myself!"


Charlotte took a deep breath, inhaling the purity of nature.

'That's why we came all the way long here. What a great place to complain about life!"

Daniel walked back to her side, with a wide grin to support his opinion,


'This is my emotional outlet. I used to come here whenever I am upset. I believe that if you speak out your reservations and wish for the best, then the Universe will also help you in solving your problems."

'Stupid human ideology!"


Charlotte cursed him in her heart, who can know more than her about double standards of his society. She craned her neck, feigning to have interest in his idiocy,

'Was it useful for you? I mean you got help from the Universe, right?"

Daniel looked down at her, giving that he was almost seven inches taller than her.

'Yes, it went well. I passed my final exams with flying colors, got a job and found a courage to see my love with her husband. I don't know about your beliefs but still try once, I think it will help you to vent out some emotions."

With his hypnotic voice, Daniel had a great accomplishment in the field of convincing others. As a result of his persuasion, Charlotte thought for a while and then yelled,

'I wish he could get everything he want."

By uttering her wish, Charlotte felt at ease. Although she had left Alpha Eric but she wanted her savior to be happy and prosperous. She had no ill feeling from him in her heart.

On the contrary, Daniel was dumbstruck,

'What kind of wish is this? Instead of cursing your ex, you are praying for his future, why?"

'Why not, Daniel!

He never promised me anything or proclaimed his undying affection. It was me who approached him. There is no need to play any blame game."

Daniel smiled at her sincerity and placed his hand on her shoulder.

'You are quite mature of your age, Star. But you don't need to feel bad about your daring. Love is always like this. We should make first move before we lose it for good. At least you tried, this kind of bravery is rare. Don't lose your spark after one failure. You have a long road to go, open your eyes and strive for what future holds for you."

Daniel encouraged her with his soulful speech, lecturing like an experienced love guru. Charlotte was happy that she came here with him as the knot in her heart was actually bothering her for many years.

They took a walk together and came back to the car. Seeing him in daze, she inquired,

'What's the matter? Why are you still like a statue?"

Daniel pulled out the key from ignition and handed to her,

'News alert! We are out of fuel. Call your driver to pick us."

She nodded and checked her cellphone where no signal was flashing on screen.

'Shit, we are done! This is a secluded place, people seldom visit here."

'I have exams tomorrow!"

Charlotte was panicking, repeatedly trying to call for help.

'What about we walk till the main road, I am sure we can get a ride or signals there."

As it was the only feasible way, they locked the car and marched on the uneven sand path. This was easy for Daniel but Charlotte was wearing high heels. As it was already difficult for her to walk, she didn't notice a big pebble on the ground and twisted her ankle. It was fortunate that Daniel caught her otherwise it would be a whole new level of embarrassment.

He supported her to the giant rock nearby and sat down,

'It's ok, I will take some rest and it will be fine."

Charlotte flinched away but Daniel was persistent,

'Let me check, Star. You just lost your balance and your foot is hurt. Don't be ridiculous that you are fine."

How could she tell him that she is a vampire and this had healed in a second after the injury, she stayed silent and allowed him to take a look. He removed her shoe gently, moving her foot to access the damage,

'Ouch!"

She faked the pain to make her act genuine. He fixed her shoe and got up,

'Apparently, your ankle is alright but swelling will be worse if you continue walking."

He lowered down and said,

'Hop up, I will give you a piggy back ride."

Charlotte hesitated but fate had made her a beauty in distress, so she played along and accepted his request.

'You could have use another word. You are too charming to be referred as a pig."

Daniel cackled at her flattery and replied while catching his breath,

'This is the only good thing you spoke in the entire evening. You look so thin, how come you are so heavy?"

She fisted his hair and they laughed together, happily chatting on the way...
