Cover page of University weekly newsletter was pinned on the notice board, which was an intimate picture of Charlotte and Daniel. Caption was,

'A passionate couple, breaking the rules of the university."


Picture was taken from the last night's party, which can only mean that,

'Rick, you are so dead!"

Her heart raced, extending her fangs and a foreign hiss escaped from her mouth. Charlotte covered her mouth instantly, shutting her eyes close in a desperate attempt to cool down.


In her rage's episode, her heart thumped at a possibility.

'Daniel!"


She clutched her school bag and dashed towards his office. As her sixth sense suggested, his office was locked along with his name board removed.

'Shit, shit, shit! Damn Rick! You have no idea whom you have offended."

Charlotte called Daniel on his cellphone but he didn't receive it. Determined to find him, she took an off and went to his home, in the hope of clearing everything. In mean time, she ordered her manager to give her the complete information of the 'Lawrence Group."

'Come on in, Star. I was going to call you."

Aunt Julia greeted her with a new trouble.

'Daniel got a call from the University at 7:00 am. He left in a hurry, so I was worried. I tried to call him but he isn't responding."

Charlotte looked at clock and it was 10:00 am. There hours and Daniel was still missing.

'Actually, he is in a meeting with HR department, I don't want to spoil his surprise but it's about his promotion."

'Really? Thank God! I always knew that my son is a genius."

Aunt Julia was flooding the owners with sincere prayers. Charlotte made an excuse of her sudden visit,

'Aunt, I was missing your sweet porridge. Can you please cook it for me?"

As Aunt was feeling way more happy, she kissed her forehead and placed a pan on stove.

'My Daniel loves to eat my porridge. It's fate that you have same preferences as him. Jesus is so kind towards my child, I can't be more thankful."

She placed her scapular necklace on her eyes and kissed it gently.

'If you don't mind, can I see his room?"

Aunt's eyes glowed with affection, her smile was a mile wide,

'Sure! Why not, dear. It's your home too."

Getting her permission, Charlotte checked his room for any clue of his friends. His simply decorated bed room was filled with books and research papers, she found his diary under his bed with great difficulty.

Friends were not mentioned in it but the reason behind his money talks finally dawned on her. Daniel was in debt of University as he took money to pay his sister's tuition fee.

In last year's calculation, she was sad to see that he barely managed to repay his student's loan with two part time jobs. Charlotte felt a wave of sympathy washing over her, moistening her eyes.

She came back to Aunt and received her lunch box of fresh porridge.

'When Daniel will get his first pay, we will have a small dinner party. Will you come, Star?"

Aunt's tone was full of doubts like she was unsure of her outcome.

'Obviously, Aunt! I would love to join family's celebration. I can use this chance to bond with Lila and Marry."

Charlotte left the house under her blessings.

She got an email from her manager during car ride. There were details of the Lawrence Group's background, on-going deals and future collaborations. As Charlotte was not accepting their offer, their company was approaching Richard Jewelers, her rival's company.

Going through all the files, her lips stretched in a meaningful smile. She sent an email to the CEO of her Gem-stones company regarding the same deal with Richard Jewelers at half price.

After reaching university, Charlotte paid off Daniel's debt. She was just in time as Rick was pressing them to file complain against Daniel. It reminded her that time when her father's boss was suing her for the loan. Goddess helped her that time and now she re-paid her past to continue this chain of kindness.

She was leaving the administration office when manager informed her that Richard Jewelers wanted an urgent meeting to finalize the deal.

'That's it!"

This was the reaction that Charlotte was expecting from CEO Richard. At her Mansion, she supervised the secret meeting through zoom. Terms were quite simple, half the price of market rate for the whole order. Deal was causing her a loss of 50 million dollars altogether but Charlotte didn't mind the objections of the board members.

With in hours, deal was signed, becoming the breaking news in the whole business community. Her company was not a leading one but this deal provided it the most needed recognition.

Next step was arranging diamonds at cheaper price. She contacted Enzo, a sired vampire, who was living under her protection. Illegal smuggling was almost impossible due to the strict laws and Coast guard's efficient services but what can they do when they are compelled by supernatural creatures.

He promised to deliver the first consignment in one week. She familiarize him with her front man to avoid any confusion. In all the hustle, it was 8:00 pm when she received a call from Aunt Julia.

'Star, Daniel didn't attend our call whole day. He is not at his friend's place too. Is he with you?"

Star completely forgot about Daniel in her official work and his childish behavior was now a jeopardy for her.

'Actually Aunt, Daniel is in the hospital with his client as one of his patients collapsed this morning. You know that special psychology wards don't have the facility of communication services. He will be back when his patient will be out of danger."

the first lie which came to her mind, praying that her no-signal was a real thing. It turned out that indeed the psych wards are secluded places, so her lie wasn't caught.

Charlotte slipped into the jeans and a t- shirt (as she was uneasy in business attire) and picked her thick coat in case of any emergency. Fortunately, her driver knew the location of the cliff where she left her car that night.

Just like before, road was empty after some kilometers, making the surroundings a setup of a horror movie. She was trying to call Daniel when the driver suddenly pulled a hand break.

'What the heck?"

Charlotte, who was already tensed by this mess, burst out in anger.

'Madam, there is a man lying in the middle of the road. I have to stop, otherwise….."

'Don't move!"

Her hight alert mode was instantly activated. She instructed him to stay there and opened her window to sniff, confirming her doubt. She walked out of the car to deal this personally…
