Call it Mathew's luck or Heaven's favor, Charlotte's trance broke abruptly after scenting his unique smell.
In an instant, she composed herself and turned to face him.
'Aren't you too strict with Jason?"
She gestured him to sit down, this matter was demanding her undivided attention.
'Did he complain about me?"
Mathew's face was blanched with horror, he still remembered her anger at the breakfast that day.
'No, I witnessed the live demonstration."
Charlotte got up and walked towards the window.
'I am sorry, Luna."
Mathew knelt on the ground, baring his neck in submission.
'If you are so worried about Jason, I can get him a daylight amulet."
She flicked her hand and gave him an option.
'Jason is your sire. I don't have a say in it."
Mathew's head hung low, he clasped his hands in respect. Charlotte smiled and leaned against the window.
'Don't you want your mate to stay with you? Your arousal can be scented from a mile. After all, mate-pull is worse in the first three months."
Mathew jumped at Charlotte's accurate observation, her correct judgment buck washed him. He placed his hand over his 'O" shaped mouth, his eyes widened with disbelief.
'Jason is not my mate."
He shook his head, denying Charlotte's claim.
'Ask your wolf, Mathew. He will never lie to you."
Charlotte's Luna command broke the protective barrier of Mathew, his wolf surged out in a full glory.
'Jason is mine. This prick is not treating him well."
Charlotte giggled and raised her brows. Her challenging voice boomed in the office.
'So Gamma Mathew, what do you say now?"
She sat on the couch and fixed her gaze on the flabbergasted warrior. His eyes were constantly changing color from hazel to golden, fighting the war of control.
He grabbed his head in his hands and cried out.
'This is a lie, Jason is dead. I can not be mated to a dead person."
His agitation forced Charlotte to become serious, she asked him to sit down.
'Listen to me carefully, Mathew. Stop fighting with your wolf."
Her stern command finally cooled him down.
'In a vampire community, there are two types of sired vampires.
One is like Liam, an almost dead person revived by pure-blood's venom.
Second type is Jason, the ones who were forced to turn when they were still alive."
Charlotte sighed at several question marks popped at Mathew's head and started to elaborate things further.
'Fate of a person would be sealed after being sired in first case, but Jason has never experienced death. He is pretty much like a living being in destiny's eyes. Vampires like him hardly survive their haze and master's cruelty, so soulmates are never documented in the history books.
It would be the first case in sired one's community that they will have a Mating Ceremony. I am so happy."
Mathew was processing the information with great difficulty, but his wolf was on cloud nine.
'Thank you so much, Luna. Bolt (Mathew's wolf) will never forget your favor."
He stretched his arms, his palms facing upwards. Charlotte laughed at his display of gratitude.
'Good one, Bolt. You have already started to adjust to the vampire's culture. Jason will like it."
Touched by his honesty, she was contented that Mathew would take good care of Jason.
'What about marking? Will he die with my venom?"
Seeing her walking out of the office, Mathew inquired hurriedly.
'Nor so fast, Mr. Wolf."
Charlotte turned and waved her finger playfully.
'Jason is quite stubborn. Without even courting him, you are worrying about marking?"
She glanced at his taut facial expressions and assured him.
'Bond between the souls will nullify the effect of both of your venom.
So, focus on winning his heart."
Mathew nodded and spoke in determination.
'I will definitely try everything to get my mate's affection. Just one more thing, Luna.
Sir Liam had told me that he bought that sunlight talisman for ten thousand dollars. I can pay a hundred folds for my mate.
Please consider my request."
Charlotte was stunned at Mathew's planning to impress Jason.
'Not this, Mathew. Show him your heart, melt the freezing ice in his chest. I will gift you a daylight ring at your Mating Ceremony."
With that, Charlotte left the office building and went straight to the temple of the Moon Goddess.
She totally feigned ignorance to Flora's meaningful smile and knelt before the Goddess's sculpture.
'I am here to thank you for Mathew and Jason. After all, your pairing is not so bad.
Your friendship with my Goddess Sanguis has created something good for once. Please bless their hearts with lots of love."
Finally, feeling some attraction towards the Moon Goddess, Charlotte expressed her heartfelt emotions, and then she visited Angie, her last worry.
Their love nest blossomed cherry blossoms in her heart, countless waves of happiness enveloped her existence.
'Stay silent, Star. Noah is trying to cook something for me."
Angie eyed towards miserable Noah who was reading instructions on the packet of instant noodles. For one pack, he was stirring a spoon in a large pot of boiling water, worry adorned on his beet red countenance.
Angie and Charlotte looked at each other and laughed, embarrassing him more. He removed the beads of sweat from his forehead and switched off the stove.
'This all kitchen setup is dangerous. We will hire a cook or order take away food. Angie can't step into this death trap."
Listening to such kind of absurd information shocked her, Angie stepped forward and pressed his arm.
'Sister Milly also cooked for you before. I am also a woman like her. I can cook."
Her pleading eyes met with Charlotte in desperate need of help. Charlotte raised her hands,
'Your personal problem!"
And continued to see this melodrama with great interest.
'Milly has a wolf, and you are a human. That's final, we will go out for lunch."
Angie stomped her feet in protest as this was her only plus point to capture Noah's heart through his stomach.
'You are such a traitor, Star. In the future, I will take Eric's side in every dispute."
Charlotte made a face at Angie's complaint and thought,
'This is such a blessed time, nothing can go wrong today."
Back in the Pack house, she saw a suspicious crowd, outside the Luna Lily's room. Amy rushed towards her, her voice laced with dread.
'Alpha Eric's mate is here!"
