Alarmed by Charlotte's master tone, he knelt down before her.

'Don't even think about leaving this time, Charlotte. Running away isn't a solution to any problem. You have a strong competition, but don't worry, I am with you. In case of any inconvenience, I will leave with you. But please, fight for your right."

Charlotte's lips stretched in a smile at Liam's concerns, she ruffled his hair.

'Didn't you enjoy your stay here last time? Staying in a Pack is better than living in the human world."

Seeing her back in a normal mood, Liam's visibly tensed muscles got relaxed.

'Life is difficult everywhere, Charlotte. It's just friends and family who make our time easy to spend."

When Charlotte came back to her room, Melinda was already sitting on the master bed.

'It's been fourteen years and my room is still the same. I am so lucky."

Her eye-catching, gorgeous smile was mile wide. She got up and opened Eric's cupboard.

'Eric's dressing style is the best like always. His favorite color is chocolate brown, just like me."

Charlotte didn't pay any heed to Melinda's exploring, and brought out a casual dress to change. Her attention was then caught by a hidden lever in Eric's cupboard which Melinda twisted and a shelf of a female clothes appeared.

'These are my clothes, Mom asked me to buy new ones, but deep down I just know that Eric would have saved my possessions. He is so considerate."

She turned towards Charlotte expecting some kind of response, so she stated randomly.

'It's been some days since I am mated to him, so we didn't spend plenty of time together."

Melinda giggled and leaned in.

'As I am a quite straightforward person, I would like to state my thoughts right now. Pack your things and shift to the guest room. Everything here is mine, and I don't like to share."

'Stupid woman!"

Charlotte rolled her eyes at her,

'Alpha is away, so I will wait for his return. Our relationship is new, so I can't anger him with disobedience."

She didn't wait for Melinda's reasoning and went to the bathroom, her hiding spot.

He laughed at his stupidity and kept talking to himself. But to his dismay, his ration was delivered by an unknown omega aunt, who locked the door again.

'This is wrong, Mathew can't imprison me for gossip."

His mood got better after dinner, and he fell asleep, cursing the Pack rules.

'You are so genius, Jay. Could you please help me in my studies?"

'It's fun to hang out with you, Jay!"

Standing in a white window-less room, a happy voice of a boy was resonating in Jason's mind. Judging from the tone, it was his friend.

'Who are you?"

He spun around to look for the person.

'You, you are a monster? Please don't do this to me. Ahh! It hurts."

With that harrowing scream still resonating in his mind, Jason woke up from this nightmare.

'Who is he? What is his relationship with me?"

Banging his fist on his forehead, Jason questioned himself. He was having nightmares after his sire change, the gleeful voice of a young body turning into heart-wrenching shrieks were haunting his sleep. He changed his sleep schedule and worked his ass off to lose his consciousness, but this memory of the past didn't leave him alone.

'All these years, I have lived without any idea of my human life. Why am I getting a glimpse of it now?"

Being in deep thoughts, he didn't register Mathew's entry with the first aid box.

'Ahhh! Are you crazy?"

Jason flinched in pain as Mathew held his wrist to examine it.

'I am sorry, let me see your injury."

His earnest tone annoyed already disturbed Jason.

'Sod off, Gamma Mathew. I am fine."

Mathew shook his head and tried a different approach. He put down the medicine box and opened the cap of the bottle he brought for Jason.

'Is this?"

Fresh aroma of warm blood invaded his nostrils, he pointed his finger at Mathew.

'You, is this for me?"

He cried in a shock.

'No, it's for a good boy who will let me bandage his broken arm."

Mathew's serious tone didn't affect Jason, he stretched his arms desperately.

'Please, I want it."

Mathew handed him the bottle and started applying the arm support politely.

'I was just angry about your carelessness, workload after Alpha's urgent trip has made me cranky. Please forgive me once, it will never happen again."

Jason almost choked on the drink,

'Did you hit your head with a wall?"

He inquired Mathew with great concern.

'No, why?"

'You seem to lose your mind."

Jason frankly spoke out his mind. He was not accepting this new version of Gamma Mathew all of a sudden.

'I am perfectly alright, Jason. You are all done."

Mathew finished the bandage and gathered medical supplies.

'Is there any witch in the Pack?"

Jason followed Mathew closely as he was scared that he would lock him again.

'No, why are you asking?"

'I think you are bewitched by a dark magic. Ask my sire, she can introduce to a good necromancer."

Mathew was fairly amused at Jason's pointless assumptions. He turned and patted his shoulder,

'Tonight is your off, take some rest. Good night, Jason."
