'Alpha Eric Dietor of the Silver Moon Pack is honored to hold a Ceremony of his Luna coronation."
Charlotte read that writing desperately after reading out that line, but no name was mentioned in it.
'Melinda was right, sire. Eric is holding a Ceremony for her."
She frowned at that piece of paper and suddenly, it caught fire.
'I think it's time to pack up."
Charlotte buried her hurt behind indifference, her icy echoing voice slithered in Liam's ears.
'On it!"
Liam instantly started working to complete her Master's command. Suddenly, the door of the cabin was knocked.
'Star!"
Angie arrived, and hurriedly hugged her.
'Alpha is holding a Ceremony for Melinda."
'Yes! I have received the invite, Angie."
Charlotte's troubled expressions disclosed the extent of injury.
'Let's leave this Pack. These wolves are not trustworthy."
Standing wide-eyed at the entrance, Noah hollered.
'This is not fair, Angie. You can't leave me because of Alpha."
Angie sniffled and reasoned with him.
'You will also have another mate like Alpha, and dump me for her. It's better to be safe than sorry."
Noah observed the changes in Charlotte's face and proposed a solution.
'We should wait until the ceremony. Alpha hasn't mentioned the name of Luna.
Losing hope over an announcement is not wise."
Beta Noah cleverly pointed out the loophole in this vague message.
'Besides, you can't leave in the tight security. Alpha has increased the guards at the Pack border."
Noah added another point in the list of flaws of their escape plan.
'I need some time to think."
Charlotte excused herself and went out to clear her head. Noah threw Angie over her shoulder, she screamed and fisted his hair in protest.
'Now, I have to find a strong cage for my wild kitty. Don't even think about leaving me again."
…
Charlotte spent the whole day at her favorite spot in the forest. The sun was just starting to set when she realized her same posture for the previous eight hours.
The warm Sun was casting a glittering golden glow across the landscape, dim pink shine lit up in the sky. The grassy meadow stretched out before her, speckled with colorful flowers.
No matter how much she loved that scene, but emptiness of her heart was overwhelming her senses.
The film of her love-hate relationship with Eric played on repeat in her mind, her eyes were now dried after all the crying.
She closed her burning eyes and a gentle breeze swept her face, giving her temporarily relief.
The air was alive with the sound of chirping birds, singing in harmony. Charlotte admired the novelty of nature, her surrounding was peaceful and serene, a perfect place to escape from the hustle and bustle of the Pack life.
As she was sure that Pack members would be preparing for the Luna ceremony next week, she delayed her plan of going back to the Pack and laid down on the grass.
Tall trees above her were slowly filling with different birds, trying to take solace in the natural shelter.
A beautiful mountain blue bird caught her attention with its beautiful song, Charlotte placed her arm under her head and enjoyed the symphony.
Strange enough, that bird came down and hopped beside her, capturing her full concentration. Charlotte noticed a carrier on its talon, used to send private messages.
'Who is it?"
She patted the bird gently and removed it with great care.
'Boom!"
That bird caught fire and turned into ashes in a split second.
'Don't be afraid of the bird's death, it was just a spell not a living being."
Charlotte released a breath, which she didn't know was holding.
'This is Casper, I am writing this letter to thank you for your condolence. As it was an unknown number, I didn't reply. You are already in trouble because of me, so I would rather not increase your difficulties.
After my coronation, I was going through the old records in the basement, when I found a box, with a name tag of Scarlet Adino.
I opened it (sorry) out of curiosity and found her possessions in it. If you want to take a look at them, burn this letter with your fire.
I will pick you up tonight. Try to stay alone after midnight."
'Mom!"
The concept of her mother was foreign for Charlotte, the one she always yearned to taste her affection. Her father showed her a picture of her mother, but Uncle Tadd revealed that it was fake.
Now, Casper's offer reignited the flames of the longing in her heart, the moment of vulnerability spell bounded her to see her mother's things.
"So, it's true, a mother can feel her kid's pain even in Heaven."
Charlotte sighed, her hoarse voice was grim with agony.
'I want to feel your scent, Mom. Your child is so hurt. You finally find a way to talk to me."
Tears ran down her eyes, she thought for some time and then flicked her hand.
While focusing on the flames, she finalized her plan of action and got up with determination.
At dinner, Liam didn't say a word, Charlotte's swollen face was explaining all his queries.
'Go to sleep, Liam."
Her order in the master tone put him to sleep in a bat of an eye. Charlotte also took a nap to reduce the swelling of her face. She was aware that Casper was a King of eagerness, nothing could escape his extra attentive eyes.
The alarm rang at 11:00 pm sharp and after a warm bath, Charlotte was ready to meet him. She wore simple jeans and white long sleeves with no buttons shirt and let her hair free in a deliberate effort to hide her mark.
Meeting after that horrible rejection was quite awkward for Charlotte, but she left all her reasoning behind.
'I am doing this for my Mom."
She declined the notion of informing Alpha mainly due to two reasons.
• He will not allow her to go.
• Melinda was staying in Alpha's room, so there was no chance in Hell that he would come out to check on her.
The clock struck twelve and a bang of energy illuminated the living area of the cabin, blinding her vision.
'Ramla!"
Charlotte exclaimed and hugged her old acquaintance. Like her true nature, Ramla came straight to her point.
'His Majesty has arranged a short meeting in the human town. I will personally drop you back here."
Charlotte felt lightened as the heavy weight of ifs and buts was removed from her mind. Hesitant to go to the Vampire Kingdom, she was praying that Casper would understand her discomfort.
Charlotte grabbed her cellphone and they both teleported back to a hotel lobby.
Ramla gave her a card.
'It's room number 105 on the second floor."
Charlotte was then guided by a polite server, who followed her to the presidential suite.
With a thundering heart, she opened the door, waves of sweet scent of rosemary greeted her. That Heavenly scent was not calling her now, but it still soothed her disturbed mind and soul.
'I was in love with a girl, she was a student in the university where I was practicing.
She accepted my proposal but then her family fixed her marriage with someone else.
She got married to her family's choice. But this time, I couldn't attend her marriage."
Crossing his arms over his chest, Casper was dressed in the same pent-shirt that he wore when they went for the dinner date.
'What do you think about this story, Star? Will I get sympathy from my next girlfriend with this?"
