Flowing with the harmony of conversation, Charlotte spat out resentment of the previous years, her emotions laid bare.

No matter how many complaints she had against Eric, she never felt hesitant while speaking her heart before him.

Eric sat beside her again, Charlotte gaped, as the realization hit her hard.

Charlotte moved a little towards him.

'I want to apologize for my secret meeting that night. As for the Casper, we never had any romantic connection between us.

We dated, yes, but it was nothing physical. I swear I never tasted him."

'You will never see him again."

Eric also added his condition.

'You can't ask me to abandon my social life, Alpha. But for your rivalry for Casper, here is my compromise.

I will go with you to meet him in a public space. You can also keep an eye on us."

'You and him, not us!"

Eric balled his fists at the mere mention of King Casper before him.

'Everything is settled now. Get up and select your dress for the ceremony."

Charlotte's hand flew to her face, as she hardly blocked a holler. She thought that Eric would take her hint and explain to her about Melinda's issue, but his suggestion set her on fire.

'As you are not getting my point, I will ask you directly. Why did you ignore me in Melinda's presence? You could have told me about your plan."

'I did it deliberately to make you feel jealous, and it worked!"

He poked her nose playfully, grinning at the success of his plan. The swirl of love and emotions inside her died in a split second, Charlotte sunk her elongated nails into the pillow to reign in her anger.

'So having sex with her was the part of your great plan too. Are you serious, Eric? Your petty game cause me to lose my control.

A human died because I failed to react according to your wishes. Great!"

'It was not my planning. Melinda and I were a marked couple, our bond was completed. No one can deny the attraction of souls in this sacred bonding.

Eric's attempt to defend himself backfired badly, as Charlotte brushed off his reasoning.

He breathed in his scent, it revealed that Jason left hours ago.

'Screw you, Mathew."

Bolt growled at Mathew, as he refused to mark him last night, his reason of marking him in consciousness was out of his feral mind.

He dashed out to the Pack and went straight to his house, but Jason was not there.

'Mom, did Jason come home last night?"

Mathew inquired his mother desperately, who was shocked to smell Jason's scent on him.

'No, Matt. Doesn't he have a cellphone? Give him a call."

His father, sitting in the living area, sneered.

'Vampires are not to be trusted in any case. And you were courting a sire filth. This was bound to happen."

Mathew's heart burned with the intensity of his insult, but he didn't argue with his father because of Jason's disappearance.

His next destination was Liam's cabin, he was hoping that maybe Liam would have some good news.

'Did you see Jason last night?"

Liam scanned Mathew's face quickly, and shook his head.

'I didn't see him after sending you both in the room. In fact, I came back, I have to attend the school in the morning."

As a last resort, he went to disturb Charlotte, who was currently in seclusion. His expectations of meeting her alone disappeared in thin air, as crimson eyed Alpha Eric welcomed him.

'What do you want?"

Rudeness of Alpha's tone broke his confidence, but he couldn't care less.

'I want to see Luna."

'No!"

Eric was about to shut the door on his face, Mathew placed his hand on the door to stop him.

'It's urgent, Alpha."

Then he peeped through the space between the door and the wall, and shouted.

'Jason is missing. Please help me."

Charlotte sprung up from her spot, and pushed Eric away.

'What happened? How could you miss an adult, grown man, Mathew? It's 11:00 am now, I couldn't even summon him through my venom."

She listened to his explanation and suddenly, an idea popped in her mind.

'Wait a second."

Charlotte grabbed her cellphone and dialed a number, waiting for the response impatiently.

'Yes, Ramla. It's me, Star. Can you please track my sire named Jason for me? OK. fine. I am waiting."

She totally ignored Eric's fury over that particular witch's name, as Jason's unstable condition was upsetting.

'He must be feeling sick. I can feel his pain."

'You both mated without marking, so it's natural to experience this pain as a warning of Heaven.

Jason will be fine, don't worry."

Charlotte details were cut short by Ramla's message, she sighed in relief.

'Jason is in the basement. Go talk to him."
