Crimson walls, headless corpses, screaming people and chaos in the bar wasn't a new thing for King Casper, but Alpha Eric's mind was hit by a bus, as he beheld the sight before him.

'Close the doors and clean the premises."


King Casper ordered his minions calmly and then turned towards Eric, who was staring at them as if they just produced a rhinoceros from the floor.

Casper could imagine the sparks in his brain, desperately trying to connect the dots and instead, just causing a short circuit.

'Little one!"


His questioning tone suggested otherwise, he was in denial of the obvious. It was fun to see him being the perfect example of a pop-eyed toy from one of the claw machines at the fun fair, King Casper chuckled.

'Haven't you seen a vampire attack in your life? It's normal."


His overconfidence instantly vanished when Ben came to inform him.

'We cannot find Her Highness. She is missing."

'Damn it!"

He ignored his sire's details and grabbed Eric's collar.

'You, you did this, Alpha. Your selfishness has shown us this day."

Alpha responded quickly and pushed him back.

'Would you explain to me what's going on here before blaming me?"

King Casper attempted to reign in his frustration and replied patiently,

'For an unmated vampire, dealing with hunger is a child's play, only self-control is enough to check his/her instincts.

But after finding your beloved, it's compulsory to feed on him/her in a month. Otherwise, darkness would be born from the depth of a vampire's heart, equal and opposite to the strength of that one. Star is fighting against her nature because you were forced on her. She doesn't want you, yet you claimed her shamelessly.

Now, she has lost her inner battle, and this is all your fault."

Alpha tried his best to process this new set of information. He couldn't deny King Casper's statement, as Charlotte had told him that the soulmates for the Vampires were different from the Werewolves.

'What has happened to little one? How can I find her?"

Casper compelled the last guest in person and responded to his query.

'Now, Star is just a soul-less vampire, hunting and relishing her preys. Her emotional side has been buried under the haze of uncontrollable thirst; she will not recognize anyone she knew before."

Ben handed him a brown map, on which he pointed out a red spot.

'According to our database, Star is moving towards the south. It's a new development that we collect hair strands of young vampires to track their locations in our head office.

We don't have much time. Let's go."

That map was obviously magical, as it could locate a person without technology. Eric found it strange that the Vampire Kingdom also interfered in the subject's personal lives.

'Mate!"

Rick whimpered and called her through mate-bond, but his calls disappeared in the abyss of darkness.

Outside in the parking area, Eric unbuttoned his shorts to shift, King Casper raced a sports car before him.

'Get in, Alpha. Using our supernatural abilities in the human world is risky. We already have to clear up the mess created by Star."

Fortunately, his sincere offer found its way into Alpha's chaotic brain, and he hopped in, fastening his seat belt in a second. King Casper handed him the map, and they bolted out towards Charlotte's latest stop.

'Close the window, Alpha."

As soon as they set out, Eric pressed the button on the car's window.

'No!"

Hearing his refusal, Casper closed it through the master control panel, but Alpha opened it again.

'Are you a child, Alpha? Can't you see I have activated the heater mode for some warmth?"

Eric shrugged his shoulders and pressed the button again.

'I cannot stand your stench, Casper. It's difficult to stop my wolf from snapping your fragile neck right now."

'Oh, really."

Casper closed the window, and this time, he locked it permanently.

'It's not an ideal situation to breathe in your awful dog-like stinky smell. I am doing this just for Star, you don't deserve to step in a fancy vehicle like this, animal."

'I am better than you, blood sucker."

Eric's chest rumbled, a throaty growl escaped from his mouth, his claws dug into the seat's cover. His bad mood also alarmed King Casper; he directed his attention to his driving.

'It's here."

Eric eyed towards the gas station in the middle of nowhere. Before King Casper could pull the break, Alpha removed the seat belt and jumped out of the car.

Same scene as the bar welcomed him there too. The gas station owner, service boy, even the cashier in the convenience store were beheaded, blood splashed on the walls was displaying the brutality of the attacker.

'Mate is not here."

Rick announced desolately, his despair was slowly shutting him down. King Casper's aid arrived at the scene and started cleaning, the red dot on the map caught their attention.

'Shoot! Star is heading towards a crowded place."

They both dashed out in the car without wasting a moment, King Casper's nerves were visibly taut on his forehead.

'If anything bad happens to Star, I swear that I will kill you, Alpha."

Praying for her safety in his heart, he cursed Eric, whose guilt was consuming his soul.

'Little one doesn't hate me this much. I am certain about it."

Searching his mind for every single moment they had together, he was convinced that Charlotte also felt the same as him.

Rick was on board with Alpha, confirming his statement, as it was the only glimmer of hope in the gloominess.

'I can feel her heart through our bond. Mate was angry, but she didn't find us repulsive."

Eric's self affirmation fairly amused King Casper, he hissed back at him.

'You are mistaken here, Alpha. The emotional injury you caused her rendered her sleepless for nine years.

I brought her back to normal life with great struggle, and we were happy. But you came back to ruin our lives. Can't you take ‘NO' as an answer?

Your fake ego has imprisoned Star in a loveless relationship, which she couldn't accept. Now she is paying for your toxicity."

He banged his fist on the steering wheel, considering it Alpha Eric's face. Eric stayed silent, keeping his Alpha demeanor intact, although he was shaken by King Casper's revelation.

'Please heal my mate. I will let her go for the sake of her sanity."

He pitifully prayed to the Moon Goddess, the one who paired them together in the first place.

King Casper's cellphone rang suddenly, he sighed in relief at the news provided by his informer.

'Star is sighted in the Blue Moon Disco, twenty kilometers away. My sire has locked the door and combed the area, we will catch her for sure."

Eric turned to Casper and asked.

'How can I bring her back to senses? Do you have any hospital to treat this condition?"

As this was a new illness, Eric wanted to know the following procedures.

'No, it's quite simple. Just offer her the blood of that soulmate she thinks she is fated to. The soul of a vampire can recognize his/her beloved, Star will choose her fated mate for her darkness."
