Soulmates for the Werewolves, Vampires, Lycans and other shifter animals are famous in the supernatural world. But there are also witches, keeping balance of the good and bad, living in the harmony of nature.
The bad witches, who curse others and make their lives Hell are not under discussion here, (although the same rules of Heaven apply for them), but the ones like Ramla, who devoted their lives for mother nature.
Even working for the Royal Vampire, Alora (Ramla's mother) didn't surrender before darkness, keeping her humanity intact. That's what she taught her daughter, an aspiring necromancer discovering the wonders of magic.
'Remember my two rules, Ramla.
1. Never harm anyone with your magic.
2. Witches don't get free favors. If you need help, strike a deal with the provider.
There is nothing more important than freedom."
Living her life adhering to these rules, Ramla was yearning for the warmth of family, a person to whom she could call her mate, the one who could accompany her for the rest of her life.
In the honor of their services, witches were also graced with soulmates, their bonds were as strong as mate-bond of other kind. Over decades, she saw her peers getting married and leading a happy life, emptiness of her heart was increasing day by day.
She began to search for him privately, using a love spell every now and then.
'It's failed, again."
Several cuts on her fingers and disappointment of the countless failures didn't cloud her enthusiasm, she continued her search operation.
'You don't have to find him, silly. You will recognize him whenever he comes in front of you. It's about souls, Ramla. They don't fail to acknowledge what belongs to them."
Her best friend, Gloria, gave her a lecture about soulmates on her wedding day, like she didn't attend the school in childhood.
'I want a soulmate, not your false hopes, Gloria."
Glancing at her shiny gown with envoy, Ramla thought to herself, urge of replacing the couple in that flashy ceremony overwhelmed her.
After a long wait, her fate brought her to the Silver Moon Pack, the one land where the vampire's affiliated people were strictly prohibited. The strangeness of the air almost suffocated her the moment she stepped in, the gloominess of death tightened her throat.
'Death has visited this Pack recently. For the pure witches, the aura of this Pack is very harmful."
Using her self-control, she didn't show her unease and focused on her task, as Luna Charlotte lost consciousness shortly after that.
'Arrange a funeral for the deceased, Julian."
'Yes, Beta."
Apparently emotionless voice blossomed countless flowers in her heart, the barren land of her soul became fertile with a simple two worded reply. She spun around and saw a six feet tall tower of stiff muscles, the golden scar on his face was the unusual thing about him.
'Never mind. This scar adds to his charming personality."
Believing in her instincts at once, Ramla instantly identified Julian as her life partner, but the timing of their encounter was something she never imagined. Ramla was used to think that she would have a magical partner, searching for her like she was doing it.
'We will draw stars and crescent moons for our claim."
At her coming-of-age party, she took this decision, never considering the fact that a soulmate could be anyone, a werewolf too. When Lisa showed her room for a rest, she blushed at her thoughts.
'I am shifting to my husband's house soon. There was no need for this hard work."
She stayed awake the whole night with anticipation, as it was a wide known factuality that werewolves kill and die for their fated mates, worshipping them as the Moon Goddess's blessing.
Hours turned into days and Ramla kept waiting, pacifying her heart with different excuses.
'He is busy."
'He must be sad."
'What if he didn't scent me?"
'Werewolves find their mates through their scents. What a fool I am!"
She went out in the name of herb collection and deliberately left her scent at every public place (including warrior's head office), but all her efforts went straight to Hell when Julian coldly stated.
'I don't have any family."
'What does he mean by this? I was standing right before his eyes, still he refused to recognize me? My magic has confirmed my claim. Did he not like me?"
Ramla removed all the witchy stuff and rearranged the room with a flick of her hand, and jumped before the mirror.
'Am I too skinny? Or dull? Is my hair short?"
She observed every corner of her body with a critical eye view and gave her a solid seven out of ten.
'Men of the twenty-first century don't like fat women, so my figure is fine. This is the latest hairstyle for red hair, I have checked it online."
She found it a sign of Heaven that her forest green eyes were the same as Julian.
'But his raven locks are silkier."
Ramla giggled at her comparison, his dark toned skin color was her new favorite now.
'I will tell him directly in the morning. It's time for action. I have lived so long, this handsome man is nothing!"
Calming her racing heart at the mere shadow of that elite warrior, she chose a dress for the morning (to impress Julian) and went to bed, the refreshing wind from the window lulled her to sleep.
Feeling something wet on her collarbone irked her, Ramla searched her sleepy mind that whether she took a bath before her bedtime or not. As her other senses were also in the same haze of dreaminess, she waved her hand to push away the source of hot air on her face.
'Mine!"
A voice devoid of any emotion whispered in her mind, her eyes shot up.
'You!"
A black snarling wolf was hovering over her body, keeping his paws on both sides just to save her from his weight. The illuminating scar on that wolf's face confirmed her suspicion, she raised her hands and touched his snout.
'Yes, I am yours."
She turned her face away, presenting her neck for marking and braced herself for the agonizing pain.
'How dare you?"
Her feeble neck was caged by a thick callous hand in no time, the body weight on her petite figure made her scream.
'Julian! I am your mate."
His piercing, indifferent gaze was fixed on him, sparks ignited under his strong hold.
'Oh! Yes, witch! Shouldn't you be at my place? What are you doing here?"
He didn't bother his nakedness and threw her over his shoulder. Ramla couldn't see a thing in their way, as he was too way fast. Thrashing her roughly on his single bed, he locked the door, his extended claws frightened her.
'I, me..."
Julian pounced at her like a hungry predator, screams, and growls shook the whole cabin for the entire night.
