'Alpha Bryson has been killed by the lycan officials. Alpha Sophia patched up with her father just to report his whereabouts and clear her name from the previous offense. Alpha King has pardoned her crime."
Beta's distraught face was an epitome of anxiety, he presented the file to Eric.
'This was a smart move by Sophia, she took revenge from us and regained her Pack. She is a genius."
Charlotte placed her chin on Eric's shoulder and commented while reading the Alpha King's verdict. He tilted his head and kissed her.
'A wise enemy always excites me, little one. But Alpha King has compensated us too."
He pointed out the last paragraph of the verdict.
'She shouldn't be forgiven, Alpha. This is wrong."
Burning in the fire of revenge, Beta Noah was dying to kill that Alpha, who was the reason behind his mate's kidnapping.
'We have to suffer a lot because of her planning. I demand justice, Alpha."
Eric gave him the file, a corner of his lips lifted in a half smirk.
'Don't worry, we will have many chances in the future, Noah. This is not the end of the world."
…
As Jason was now practically shifted to Amy's cabin, Gamma Mathew packed his stuff and decided to leave his house. His mother, on the other hand, was aghast at this development, she cried out at the news of her son's shifting.
'Don't leave us, son. How will we live without you?"
Mathew hugged his mother and comforted her.
'I am in the same Pack as you, Mom. Besides, it's just for Amy's pregnancy. Then we will shift back here. Trust me, I will come to meet you daily."
Mr. Mason was not in the support of his notion, but he chose to hide it behind indifference.
'A Gamma wolf is compromising his life due to a dead leech and a wolf-less omega, what's an irony?"
Mathew stepped forward and confronted him.
'Jason is not dead. The head Priest has told you that in detail. Why can't you accept us?
I am your only son, dad."
Mr. Mason threw the newspaper on the table and growled.
'You are my only son, that's why you both are alive. Otherwise, I would have killed you with that bloodsucker. This is my compromise, Mathew."
'So, I am just a heir to continue the precious Gamma bloodline."
Mathew's eyes welled up, he gasped at his father's loathing.
'You got me wrong, Mathew. I …."
He tried to speak, but Mathew raised his hand.
'I should have left before, Mom. I did not know that I was as an eyesore to my parents."
He kissed her hand and rushed out, tears fell from his eyes. Jason was waiting with the latest news of the Pack for him, he got startled at his red face.
'What happened?"
Their mate-bond became a pull of contrasting energies, suppressing Mathew's anguish with Jason's affection.
Mr. Mason followed his son to the Amy's cabin, his chest heaving like a patient.
'I didn't mean it, son."
Bolt (Mathew's wolf) told his father's statement to Jason between sobbing. Jason rolled his sleeves and hissed at him.
'From now on, just think that you had a son and he died in a battle. Mathew had no relationship with you."
Mr. Mason glared at his arm around Mathew's waist, venom dripping from his voice.
'You are the outsider who ruined the peace of our home."
He launched at Jason to rip off his throat, Mathew pushed him away and countered that attack.
'Not my mate!"
The tussle between two snarling wolves reached to the Alpha's office, Eric's interference ended their argument.
'Jason is a respectable Pack member just like you, Mr. Mason. You don't like him, it's your personal problem. Attack on a Pack mate is punishable by law."
Alpha's stern command reverberated in the surrounding, he bowed his head in submission.
'I am ready for my penalty."
Mr. Mason's expressionless face hid his disappointment, he wasn't expecting Eric's interference in their family matter.
'It was just an accident, Alpha. I fell on the ground by myself."
Jason hurriedly interceded for his father-in-law, their relationship was already strained enough. Alpha calculated the situation as a whole and spoke after a dramatic pause.
'I am pardoning your offense just because of Jason's statement. Solve your problems like civilized creatures."
Alpha's warning didn't affect Mr. Mason's detest, he cleaned the blood from the corners of his lips.
'This abomination is not allowed in my house. You can come to see your mother. She is innocent in all this."
As soon as he left, Amy and Jason grabbed Mathew's arm and brought him inside.
'Surprise!"
‘Happy Anniversary' was painted on the white charts with Mathew's and Jason's names on it. Amy decorated the cabin with balloons and crinkle paper.
'Anniversary?"
Mathew sniffled and looked around, his mind didn't process this information.
'It has been three minutes months since we met, silly. It's time for celebration."
Their happy chatters and gleeful laughter removed the bitterness of the moment before, making that wooden cabin a home again.
…
'Mara!"
This name was roaming in Ramla's mind like a death siren, Julian shattered her heart with a pang of betrayal. He came home at dawn and lashed out his vexation at her.
The black eye and countless bruises on her skin were his gift for her.
'My love has left me because of you, witch. I will kill you."
Thankfully, Bane (Julian's wolf) saved his mate, taking over his senses at that crucial moment. While crying over her dark fate, Ramla's cellphone beeped.
'How is Star?"
Casper sent her a message, in case she was busy.
'She is fine. The course of medicine has been completed now."
Casper called her, which she received after thinking for a second.
'Take your mate and come back to the Castle, Ramla. The Vampire Kingdom will be honored to welcome you."
Ramla's heart was filled with gratitude due to this offer, she was about to respond to him when her cellphone was seized by Julian. He threw it to the wall, its pieces scattered on the floor.
'Why were you talking to a strange man?"
Ramla didn't entertain his possessiveness and shouted back.
'His Majesty was inviting both of us to the Vampire Kingdom. I am going back, you can live with the love of your life."
'It was a mistake!"
'What?"
Ramla couldn't decipher the sudden change in Julian's expressions, the fur emerging from his skin was a sign of forced shift.
'You can mark your girlfriend, Julian. Your wolf will adjust with her."
Creating a barrier with her magic, she gave a free suggestion to him. Her eyes popped out when Julian crossed that barrier without much effort.
'I forgot to tell you, witch. Your magic will not work on me."
Utterly defeated by his wolf's madness, Julian pulled her closer,
'From now on, you will not practice magic."
