'A special envoy from the Vampire Kingdom is asking for permission to enter our Pack. What's your command, Alpha?"
Beta Noah was on the border's duty in the absence of Julian, he mind-linked Eric when he was having breakfast.
'Send him in. I am in the dining hall."
.
'Greetings, Alpha Eric."
That coffin-faced (dead inside) vampire lord presented a red envelope to Eric, and then spoke respectfully.
'Second envelope is for the lady Beta. Where can I see her?"
'Mr. Beta can also receive this."
Noah snatched that bag, as he had literally imprisoned Angie after coming back from America. His sister Milly was in the Pack for a rest after giving birth, so Angie's interaction with others was reduced to nil.
'His Majesty has ordered me to hand over this letter personally to lady Beta. Please understand."
Charlotte stared at his stilled pupils and eyed Eric.
'Let him meet Angie. He is under the command of his King."
'This is barbaric."
Eric tore down the seal and opened the case.
'Same as Alpha command."
Charlotte raised her brows and curiously read the ten handwritten pages that came with a red card.
'I waited for seven hours in my Castle that both of you will visit me, what a fool I am?"
She tittered and raised her eyes; Eric's complex expressions knotted her stomach.
'Is everything ok?"
He gave her the card and rubbed his temple.
'Read it by yourself."
Charlotte scowled at his unnecessary suspense and read it out loudly.
'The Vampire Kingdom is proud to announce the marriage ceremony of King Casper Adino, this Heavenly ritual will be performed on the fourteenth of this moon.
The coronation of new Queen will also be the part of this reception."
'Casper is getting married, yay!"
Charlotte dragged her chair towards Eric and circled her arms around his neck.
'What's with this grim face? Are you not happy for him?"
Eric squinted his eyes and took a deep breath.
'Honestly, I never thought that he would get over you and marry another girl. This is shocking news for me. I would never give up if I was in his place."
Charlotte kissed the cheek of her grumpy mate; her smile was full of the joys of the spring.
'This is the difference between the Royals and commoners. They are raised heartless, doing everything for their own good. The post of the Queen was empty for over a century. Casper is not a man to mourn over emotions and destroy his life."
Rick came to the surface to register his protest, forgetting his suspicion over the urgent wedding out of the blue.
'How do you know so much about him?"
'He is my friend. Obviously, I know him."
'Then if you know that he doesn't love you. Why did you threaten me with him? You could reject him at the start."
Charlotte shook her head at his pouted, cute face, and poked his forehead.
'No one can deny the attraction between the first chance mates. It can cloud everyone's judgment."
'Been there, done that."
Eric raised his hand and bowed his head.
'You can go if you like. Take Angie with you too."
He placed ten tons heavy rock on his heart and spoke these words with great difficulty, it almost killed him to suppress his bitterness.
'Nope. I am not free. I will send him a present. You can call him for the official refusal."
Eric released the breath he didn't know he was holding, a wave of relief washed over him. Suddenly, his phone rang, Casper's name was blinking on its screen.
'He is such an attention seeker."
Eric sighed and put the phone on the loudspeaker.
'You must have received my marriage invitation. Pack up your bags and see me at lunch. I am waiting."
They both looked at each other, Eric's voice had a tinge of guilt.
'Actually, we have a killer on lose in the Pack. We cannot attend your wedding. However…"
'What!"
Casper shouted, as if his voice was traveling through the air without any technology.
'This is wrong. I especially came to spoil your mating ceremony, and you are refusing to attend mine.
Unbelievable!
Where is Ramla? I will ask her what's going on here? And why is she not receiving my calls? Last time, I heard her mate's growl when she was speaking with me."
Eric chuckled and joked about that incident.
'Mates for the werewolves are different. Julian is the head of warriors. The rest you can imagine."
Charlotte eventually added to Eric's statement.
'They are on vacation. The first heat of the female is not easy, Casper."
'Whatever! It will be so fun if you can come."
His pitiful voice saddened her, Charlotte gave him an offer.
'What about we attend your wedding dinner through the face time? And send me the photo of the bride. I want to see my Queen."
'The one who will come to my reception can see her. Bye."
Casper huffed and disconnected the call abruptly. Before Eric could call him again, Jason came running to the Pack house.
'Witch Delilah is here."
They rushed to the hospital, where Julian was performing the spell in the broad daylight.
'Is it safe? Aren't all the spells should be performed under the moonlight?"
Eric whispered in Ramla's ear, she smiled at her Alpha's simplicity. Her loving gaze was fixed on her mate, who was seriously following every instruction.
'Now hold her hand and direct the golden light in your imagination towards her."
Delilah instructed in a firm tone. Ramla's finger twitched, and she gasped, taking deep breaths for more air.
'Relax, Ramla. Julian's aura is stronger than yours."
Her body was limp after the fifteen minutes of energy transfer, Ramla collected every shred of strength and tried to move her hands.
'Paper!"
'It worked."
Jason was the first one to react from the awestruck crowd, he tugged on Mathew's arm.
'I want a drink. I am hungry."
Julian hugged Ramla and gave her a notepad.
'A servant in the Pack house."
She wrote it on the paper with struggle and lost consciousness. Eric growled furiously.
'Lock the Pack house and investigate the servants. Now!"
