The wedding procession went smoothly as planned, she kept watching him with hawk-eyed focus but nothing happened. They moved on to the reception hall, watching as the bride and groom danced to a popular Taylor Swift's number.

"You look fidgety," Her mother's voice startled her and she jumped when she felt her presence behind her.

Aurora looked over her shoulder, before hesitantly grabbing a flute from the table. She gingerly took a sip from the liquid, reveling in the way it cooled her throat.

"Watch it," Her mother warned, eyeing her, "You don't want to get drunk now, do you?"

Aurora let out a sigh, turning to face her mother with a goofy grin on her face, "I won't," She threw her another fake large grin before sauntering off.

She looked around the hall, her eyes widening when she couldn't find Evan amongst the crowd. He was just sitting on the table across from her and now, he was gone.

"Shit," She cursed softly, running her fingers through her hair. Her eyes darted around the large hall but she couldn't see his familiar mop of head, her heart began to race and her skin tingled in anxiety,

When she felt a light tap on her shoulder, she flinched and swiveled around instantly. Chandler's dark blue eyes peered at her carefully,

"Are you okay?" He asked gently. Her eyes flickered behind him to the dance floor, Aunty Christy was now dancing with his father and they were a few people on the dance floor too, including her parents.

She cleared her throat, returning her gaze to him, "Yeah, yeah, I'm fine." She said, trying to sound convincing but she knew it was fake.

It seemed like he saw through her act because one of his perfectly arched brow rose up. She offered him a hesitant grin,

"I was going to ask you to dance," He continued, pointing towards the dance floor, "Although, I don't know if waltz is your thing since you know, you're a ballerina and all that."

That made her chuckle, she shook her head lightly, "No, I mean yes," She chuckled again, "I do enjoy the waltz."

His lips quirked upwards and he stretched out a palm, "May I have this dance, then?"

She returned his smile and moved to accept his hand when a piercing scream tore through the air. Her head turned instantly to the source of the noise, eyes widening when they honed in on the bedraggled woman limping towards the dance floor.

A sharp exhale left her chest, recognition flashing in her head at the sight. As if on cue, Evan slithered stealthily a few paces behind her, melding into the crowd. Her eyes found him instantly but his was focused on the crazed woman. Everyone had fallen quiet, even the acoustics had screeched to a halt, all their attention on the dirt-stained woman making her forward,

"What in the world?" Chandler swore quietly beside her, watching the scene with furrowed brows. He took a step forward and paused, as if waiting for something to happen before acting.

Aurora was already walking towards the area before she could think much. Was this what Evan planned?

To somewhat ruin the wedding, but why?

"Miriam Rochester!" The woman cried loudly, pointing towards where her parents stood in the center of the circle.

Aurora froze on her tracks as she watched the woman limp forward, dead eyes set on her mother. From where she stood, she couldn't see her mother's expression but she had an inkling it would reflect shock.

"Murderer!" The woman yelled again, the crowd had begun to murmur and whisper. Chandler was signalling for security to come in and take the woman.

"Thief! Liar! Murderer!"

Her father stepped forward, raising his hand in a pleading manner, "Ma'am, I'm going to ask you to leave-"

The woman pushed her father to the side and he tumbled to the ground, slamming against a table and causing all the champagne flute to come crashing against the ground. The crowd screamed, scampering backwards.

Chandler rushed forward, wrapping his arms around Christy and her, pulling them backwards. Aurora's terror-stricken gaze settled on her mother who was still frozen in her spot.

Everyone had fled the dance floor, leaving on her mother, the woman and her father who laid on the floor, clutching his side.

"I've called security, they'll handle this," Chandler was saying, whispering for her mother to leave the stage but it fell in deaf ears.

Thankfully, three large men dressed in suit started making their way towards them and she could tell that they were the security. She pulled her hand away from Chandler's and took a step forward, to grab her mother away from the insane woman.

However, when the woman caught sight of the guards heading her way, she slipped her hand into her pocket and brought out a small-sized dagger.

Aurora heard somebody scream, she saw her father trying to rise to his feet. But what she really saw was the determination in the woman's dark eyes,

She wanted to kill.

Her legs moved on autopilot, tearing through the ground and heading towards her frozen mother.

"NO!" She screamed, yelling for her mother to move away. She wondered why her mother didn't react and why she still remained fixed on the spot.

The woman lifted the dagger and raced towards Miriam. Aurora was faster, sliding in front of her mother and pushing her backwards.

When she felt the metal pierce her back, it felt like the entire world had gone dead. She stiffened, the hand that was resting on her mother's shoulders, dropped limply to the side.

She heard someone cry out her name but her senses had dulled to a buzzing sound. When she looked behind her, she saw the weapon buried deep above her waist. Crimson had began to gather, staining her fuzzy peach dress.

Aurora felt hands on her body, panicked cries rose in the room but she could barely heard them. She saw her father's mouth moving rapidly, how Chandler yelled into his phone and how the guards pulled the wild woman away as she thrashed and cried in struggle.

Then her eyes met his and in that moment, she hated that they shared that trait because it was like looking into her own eyes. If she thought that Evan wasn't capable of doing evil before, she was sorely proven now.

He didn't say anything rather his head cocked slightly to the side, disappointment evident in his features and then ever so slowly, he slipped out of the crowd, disappearing.

Aurora's gaze fell back on her throbbing back, her father had his hands placed on the area as if that would lessen the pain she felt. Her throat burned, her entire body burned and when she couldn't take the pain anymore, she passed out, the world fading into black.
