After we were done eating we decided to get some actual shopping done.

Kayden and I walked into build-a-bear workshop since we didn't really need anything.


"Which one should we get?" I ask as we look at all of the animal skins

"How about the bunny" he says as he holds up a multicolored pastel bunny skin

"Yeah, I like it" I say


As Kayden and I walk to the giant stuffing machine I get the feeling that I'm being watched.

I look around the store only to see little girls with their mothers or fathers.


Um, okay?

"Aspen, come on" I hear Kayden say as he hands the empty bunny to the lady

I smile and walk up to him as best as I can in my crutches.

The lady casually greets us as she fills up our bunny.

I get the weird feeling again.

I look around the store but still don't see anyone.

This is weird.

"Kayden, do you feel weird" I ask him which makes him look at me in confusion

"What do you mean?" He asks

"Like there's someone following us" I say

"No, you're probably just on edge since you can't walk properly" he says

"Yeah, you're right" I say and grab our bunny

We walk over to the next station where another lady stitches it up.

"Can I do the honors?" He asks as he points to the machine where you have to blow the extra filling off the bear

"Yeah, I'll go pick out an outfit" I say as I make my ways towards the ginormous clothing section

"Okay" he says.

As I'm picking out an outfit I feel someone's presence behind me. I spin around so fast that I'm pretty sure I saw my life flash before my eyes.

"Oh, it's just you" I say as I look at Charlotte

"Why? Where you expecting someone else?" She asks with a confused tone as I spot Carolina walking up to Kayden

"No, Yes, it's complicated" I say as I turn and look at the clothes

"How is it complicated?" She questions as she walks up to stand beside me

"I feel like someone is watching me but every time I look I don't see anyone" I explain

"You probably feel that way since there are cameras in this store" she says with a lighthearted chuckle

"Maybe" I say with a shrug.

Charlotte and I look for an outfit while Carolina and Kayden argue about something.

Great, what are they arguing about now?

"I'll be back" I say to Charlotte. She gives me a smile and nods her head.

As soon as I turn around the air is knocked out of my and my mouth goes dry.

Are you fucking kidding me?!

"Hello, Aspen" my father says with a smirk as he walks up to me

I stay frozen in my spot as I watch him approach me.

He quickly eyes my outfit and crutches which makes a look of distaste consume his face.

"This outfit is inappropriate for your status as my daughter" he says

I feel Charlotte come up beside me and glare at him.

"Her outfit is fine, Henry" Charlotte says with a hard tone

"It's nice to finally meet you, Charlotte" he says with a mischievous smirk

"Or should I call you, Thunder?" He questions with a smug tone

I look over and see Carolina and Kayden quickly making their way to us with pissed expressions.

"Oh, wow, the whole gang is here" Henry says with fake enthusiasm

"That will make this very amusing" he says as if he's proud of himself

"What do you want, Henry?" I finally question

"I want all of you to come with me" he says in a serious tone

"Not going to happen" Carolina says in an emotionless tone

She sounds scary.

Remind me never to get on her bad side.

"Fine, you made me do this" Henry says as his eye starts to twitch in irritation

"Get them!" He yells loudly.

We don't have time to react before a giant group of people with guns come inside of the store.

Fuck, I'm going to be banned from build-a-bear workshop forever.

I back up as my body starts to buzz with fear.

"Aspen, get back" Charlotte says to me as she gets into a fighting stance

"Don't kill them, capture them" Henry says before snapping his fingers

The hoards of gun wielders start to make their way towards us.

"Shit" I yell out as Charlotte pushes me behind her and pulls out a gun from her hidden holster

What the fuck!

When did she get a gun?!

I look over and see Carolina in the same stance as Charlotte with the same exact weapon.

I peak beside her and see Kayden with a pen.

What is he going to do with a pen?!

"What are you waiting for? Get them!" My dad commands in annoyance

Jesus Christ.

Lord give me strength.

I stand on both my legs which immediately makes my thighs hurt.

I see a dude run up to me.

I quickly lift my crutch and bring it up to hit his crotch.

He drops his gun and drops to the floor in pain.

I look around and see both Carolina and Charlotte shooting at a bunch of guys coming their way.

I try to find Kayden but see him nowhere.

Where the hell did he go?

"Kayden?!" I yell out

"Aspen, help!" I hear him yell out which causes me to turn to the exit where he's handcuffed and being carried out

I see them stick a needle in his neck and inject something green into him. His eyes immediately close and his body falls limp.

I ignore the throbbing pain as I run after him but stop when my dad wraps his arms around me tightly.

"Let go of me!" I yell out at him as I struggle in his grip

"Hey, Idiot!" My dad yells at a random gun wielder which causes them to turn around

"Inject her" he says gesturing to me

They take the injector of green stuff and start to walk towards me.

Think quick, Aspen!

When he's three feet away from me I bring my foot up to connect with the injection before kicking him in his groin.

I hear the injection crash and break on the floor while the dude falls to the floor.

I'm about to stomp on my dads foot but don't get the chance to when I feel something sharp stabbing into my neck.

"Aspen!" I hear Charlotte yell out

"Fuck!" Carolina yells out

That's the last thing I heard before blacking out.

I groan as I wake up with a pounding headache.

What the hell?!

I don't remember drinking anything with alcohol in it.

I slowly open my eyes only to notice that my wrists and ankles are handcuffed to a wooden chair.

What the hell!

I suddenly remember what happened with my dad at build-a-bear workshop.

I look around and notice that Charlotte, Carolina, and Kayden are all handcuffed too but they're still asleep.

I'm about to scream and try to wake them up but the door to the basement opens and reveals Henry with a smug expression.

"Oh goody, you're awake" he says as she strolls over to me

"The bosses want to meet you" he says

"Great, I can't wait to give them a piece of my mind" I say with a smirk which makes his face fall

"Look here, missy, if you try something in there I won't hesitate to kill every single one of your friends and make it look like an accident" he says in a threatening tone

I glare at him but don't say anything.

He smiles at my reaction and un-cuffs me before leading me out of the room.

I make sure to pay attention to my surroundings so that I'll be able to find my way back.

Two minutes later he stops in front of two giant double doors.

Henry knocks on the door before receiving a small 'come in'.

He gestures for me to enter the room. I grab the door knob and enter the giant room.

"Aspen?" A lady ask me from a couch

She looks to be in her mid-forties.

"Depends on who's asking" I say as I walk further into the room

A man enter the room seeming to be in his late-forties or early fifties.

"Nina and Bruce Wilder" he says as he walks up to stand beside the lady

My eyes widen in shock as I become speechless.

They can't be-!

"C-Charlotte's parents?" I question

"That would be us" Nina says with a smile

"So you're the boss?" I question slowly

"We both are" Bruce butts in as he wraps his arm around her

I'm shocked.

Who is sick enough to do all of the shit that they've done.

Who knows what they've done.

"Why did you request to see me?" I question as I cross my arms

"You're seeing my daughter, correct?" She questions as she takes a sip of her tea

"What do you mean?" I ask in confusion

"Are you in love with her?" Bruce rephrases

"Why? I don't see why it's any of your business" I say trying to stall this conversation

"We're trying to understand why you like her and vice versa" Bruce says calmly

"Yes, I'm in love with her" I state

"Great," Nina says and sets her teacup down

"I want you to stop seeing her" she says

"Stop seeing her?" I question with a monotone voice but mentally laugh when I see frustrated looks on their faces

"Yes, this is just a phase. She doesn't like you that way" Bruce says

"You're right, she doesn't like me" I say which makes them look at me in relief

"She's in love with me too" I say with immediately makes them tense

"Henry!" Nina shouts out which makes my dad burst into the room like a little bitch

"Yes, Mrs. Wilder" He asks

"Bring my daughter in here" she commands

"Of course" he says before leaving the room and walking away from the door

Ugh, Henry is such a pussy.

"Please, take a seat" Bruce says with a smile and gestures to the seat across from him

"No thanks, I'll stand" I say with a fake smile

Charlotte is going to have a field day when she finds out who she's meeting.
