When Owen left my room I didn't know how to feel.
Did he just kiss me to get to know whether I liked him? There could have been a different way for him to know. He could have asked me.
Though I doubt that I would have confessed having anything for him. Him kissing me just stired up certain emotions in me that I didn't know I had towards him.
But when he said what he did, I couldn't help but play cool when my feelings were but.
I didn't want to embarrass myself anymore than I already did. I just let him kiss me in front of the whole school.
Feelings of self loathe swirled around me and I decided to go out for a walk, to freshen up my mind and try to get my thoughts straight.
When I walked in the kitchen I found Mrs James baking something.
"Oh there you are." She looked up at me with a smile. "I thought you would want some scones. I just baked them."
The events of the day had made me lose my appetite but I didn't want to break the poor woman's heart by saying so I just took one from the plate and thanked her.
After taking a bite, I told Ms James that I was going out to get something.
I left the house and a gust of wind hit my face. I wrapped the jacket that I'd grabbed closer to my body and began my walk.
I don't know for how long I'd been walking but when I looked up, the sun had made it's way down. I decided to make my way back before it got too late.

When morning came I made it my mission to ignore Owen as best as I could. It was my way of geeting rid of any feeling I thought I had for him.
I was having my bowl of cereal when he walked in the kitchen and the most surprising thing was that he smiled at me. As in a real smile. No sign of his famous smirk.
It caught me off guard that I almost choked on the cereal.
"Morning."
What was he planning? He's not making ignoring him any easy.
I swallowed my cereal before greeting him with a, "morning" of my own.
He took a bowl from the cupboard and some cereal and milk from the fridge before pouring some in his bowl.
I tried to busy myself with eating instead but I couldn't help but look up when I noticed him sit across from me.
I raised my eyebrows in question but he just imitated me. I rolled my eyes and stood up from my seat, deciding I was done eating.
"Done eating already?" He stared up at me.
"Well...yeah."
"Sure you are." His famous smirk made it's way across his face.
I just rolled my eyes in response before cleaning my bowl.

I came out of Owen's car only to have most, if not all eyes on me.
I squared my shoulders and walked over to where Kate was standing with a guy.
"Hey Kate."
Her back was facing mine and when she heard me call out to her, she turned around to face me, then told the guy they'd talk later.
"Hey." She fully faced me with her hands crossed over her chest.
"I'm sorry. I know you were only trying to look out for me and the way I reacted was just...not right."
She sighed then smiled at me, "and who says I was upset with you little miss Lyra?" She came over and gave me a tight hug. "I just want what's best for you and if you think falling for that jerk face will make you happy, who am I to go against that?"
I untangled myself from the hug and proceeded to explain to her that what had happened was all a misunderstanding.
"The thing is that mum left home for work some months back and she left me under the care of Mrs James, Owen's grandmother. Which meant I had to move from our house to Owen's. I've been living with them since. I know that I should have told you earlier but then I just didn't know how to go about it."
"You're joking right? You and Owen live in the same house? Why didn't you tell me earlier?"
I shrugged.
"Now I now why you were at his party on Saturday, it's because that's were you are living. You know I kind of found it a little crazy that you were at a party."
"I can go to parties on my own will."
"Sure you can." She rolled her eyes with a smile playing in her lips.
