'Breath in Axel" I said, patting his back, trying to pacify his rage.





"I hate that man so much, he's seriously getting on my nerves, he has always been after the throne because I'm the mistress's child," he confided.


I felt bad, as if I was the one going through his problem and not him, so I brought him closer to my chest, patting his back like a little baby. He groaned and relaxed at my touch.

'Sorry Axel, you don't have to break down on him, he doesn't deserve it, tackle the situation with care to avoid the pack members thinking you are a bad leader," I said.

He held my waist more tightly but gently and kissed my neck.

You are right, I will go and see him now, rest and stay here. I will be back shortly." He kissed me softly on my lips before leaving.

I went into the bathroom to shower after he left.

After I came out of the bathroom, I realized I didn't have any of my clothes there, so I decided to wear Axel's clothes. Then his shirt was too long, reaching down to my waist. I chuckled.

Axel walked in looking gloomy, but his eyes glowed when he saw me. I hugged him gently.

'That man is really getting on my nerves Pumpkin, he wants the council to review me, that I'm not fit to be the Alpha." He rubbed his face on my shoulder.

'Sorry about that, go and take your bath so you can relax. I will ask the maid to get something for you to eat," I said, and he nodded, leaving for the bathroom when he stopped on the way.

Reaching down for his phone, he called his beta Damian.

'Send him in now!" I looked at him surprised. Who was he sending in?

A few seconds later, I saw the soldier's leader staggering looking battered.

'What happened to him Damian?" I asked, rushing to his side.

The soldier's leader knelt immediately when he saw me.

'I'm sorry, Lady Vanessa, I didn't know you were the one that night. I'm very sorry, forgive me," he pleaded.

Axel spoke up, 'your punishment lies in her hands, Pumpkin, what do you want to do to him?" He asked.

'I want him treated and well-fed. He didn't do it intentionally, he was trying to protect his pack, which is his duty," I said.

Bending down to him, "I'm sorry for this, if I had known you would have been beaten I would have stopped it," I said, with tears filling my eyes.

They were all shocked, especially the soldier's leader. He raised his head to look at me, realizing I was truthful. He smiled.

'Thank you so much, Lady Vanessa, I owe you my life. Permit me to be your personal bodyguard as a token of my appreciation," he said happily.

'Don't worry about repaying me, you are a very nice guy actually," I said, giggling.

"So what's your name?" I asked him.

"I'm Grayson my lady," he answered, bowing.

"Friends?" I said, holding out my hand for a handshake. He looked over at Axel with a "Should I?" look on his face.

Axel nodded and he took my hand excitedly.

'Thank you lady Vanessa" he said again.

'Stop thanking me and go and take care of your injuries."

'I'm fine the moment you say you aren't annoyed with me."

"Thank you so much, Alpha, for your mercy," he said, bowing.

And he left. Damian turned to look at me on his way out before bowing slightly.

I felt a hand slip round my waist and I smiled.

'You are such a good woman, Vanessa," he said.

"He didn't do anything. I don't see any reason why you punished him," I said, glaring at him.

"I was annoyed at him for making such a terrible mistake. You could have died," he said.

"But I didn't," I reminded him.

'You look sexy in my clothes, Pumpkin. Are you trying to seduce me because you are doing a very good job at it? He said, chuckling.

'Now go and take your bath. You stink a lot." I said, laughing at his fake laughter.

'No I don't, 'he said, kissing me again.

"Yes, you do, now go," I said, removing myself from my body.

He went into the bathroom and I rang the bell for a maid to bring a meal for him.

When she came in, she looked shocked seeing me wearing the Alpha's clothes. I smiled.

'Bring the Alpha's meal to his room." I instructed.

She nodded and bowed.

When Axel came out of the bathroom with the beads of water all over his huge muscular chest and arms, I drooled, gulping.

'You like what you see?" He said seductively.

I shook my head.

'I have seen better," before I could finish my words, I was pinned on the wall.

'What did you say?" He asked, looking annoyed.

"I was joking, Axel," I said, frightened, closing my eyes.

He started laughing.

"You thought you were the only one who could tease right, look at you all frightened.

'I'm not scared of you, I was just trying to please your ego," I lied.

"Oh really?" He said, stopping to kiss my neck. What's his obsession with my neck?

I felt shivers all through my body and I stifled a moan.

'Are you holding it in? That's a bad idea though," he said, chuckling.

"Fine, you won, you looked hot when you stepped out of the shower, actually," I said, so he would stop.

" Good," he said before releasing me.

After the maids cleared the dishes, he took me to the balcony in his room. We stared at the sky in a comfortable silence.

'I'm so sorry for everything again, pumpkin" he said, looking at me.

'Your apology will only be accepted if you wear a female dress and apologize," I said, laughing at the thoughts. He also laughed.

'I forgive you, Axel," I said, and he held me in his arms happily.
