'Axel, I can't breathe please," I whispered.


'That's what I have been facing since you came here. Your scent, your body, your voice, everything about you was making me lose my breath. But I was the one facing it. Now you will have to feel it," he said, husky. He began kissing me again, and I was squirming under him.

I woke to Axel staring at me like I was a prized treasure.

'Alpha, some rogues are attacking from the west and they have killed all the men on guard there," Damian's voice rang from the other side of the call. Axel ended the call and explained to me what was happening.

I was scared and prayed for him to be safe.

I decided to take a walk inside the palace because Axel warned the women not to leave the inside and go anywhere like balconies or terraces to avoid being hit by rogues.

I was walking to the west wing since I have never been there, and I wanted to know what was there.

While enjoying my walk, I heard whispering behind a door and I went into a column behind the door to listen to whatever conversation that was going on inside the closed door.

'I want you to kill Vanessa, put this poison inside her food and make sure you dispose of the food, so nobody will know you were the one that prepared it. Do it now at lunch. I want her dead before the Alpha comes back," said someone, none other than Octavia.

What wrong did I do to her to deserve all this hatred?

'Yes, my lady," a soft voice replied.

"No one should ever hear of this, else I will have you dead," she threatened.

I hid myself when they opened the door and I watched the maid's figure as she came out of the room walking away. Oh, it was Helena the maid. And she looked innocent to be able to even have the thought of doing something heinous like murdering someone. Anybody in this palace can do anything at any time.

'I hope it works this time around," another female voice said.

"She's behaving like a sorcerer, because how did she keep surviving all our plans?". A voice chirped in.

"But isn't killing her too harsh? Why don't we try to win the Alpha's favor instead of killing an innocent soul," Camille said. She never spoke to me, but she didn't disturb or treat me badly either.

'Camille keep quiet, she needs to die for us to be able to get the Alpha's attention else we will age here without the Alpha noticing our presence." Allison warned. I don't even know who was the worst between her and Octavia.

'Don't yell at me, that's my opinion. She did nothing to us, her death is on all your hands and not mine," she said, walking out angrily. I made a mental note to be nice to her from nowhere henceforth.

'We need to do something about Camille, she's acting like Vanessa is a friend or even a sister of hers," Allison added immediately when she left.

'Camille isn't our problem, Allison, she is just a scaredy-cat, she won't bite," Octavia said, pacifying them.

'Nice try, Octavia, but I'm not going down for your pleasure. ''I said to myself as I went back to my room.

'Fine if you say so," Allison said in defeat.

'My Lady, your lunch," Irene said as she dropped it.

Poor girl, she would have been framed if something had happened to me when she was completely innocent. Helena is really a green snake in green grass.

'Thank you, Irene," she smiled and left.

I quickly got rid of the poisoned meal and the water because Octavia was too desperate to have me dead.

I made sure to call Helena, so she could report back to her that I would soon be dead.

'I'm done eating, Thank you."

'You're welcome, my lady," she said as she smiled, carrying the plates away.
