VANESSA POV


'You are one of them!" I shouted, as I pulled myself away from him.

'Get away from me!" I screamed and he looked at me like I had hurt his feelings. I didn't care if he would kill me for screaming out loud in that manner.

I couldn't believe I have been with a vampire all this while, I was surprised he hadn't killed me yet.


'Please don't kill me?" I sobbed wondering why he hadn't yet.

"Kill you? Why would I?" He said looking at me sadly.


'I would never hurt you, Vanessa stop saying that, please it's hurting me."

"I'm sorry," I said to him falling down to my feet covering my face with my hands trembling.

"Love," he said bending to touch my face and I moved my head back. He whined and came closer.

He pulled me close to him and held me on his chest.


Praying Axel would come into the room and save me from him.


The door opened immediately, and I saw Axel's feet. the Moon Goddess had answered my prayers immediately. Again, looking up, I saw him coming close, and I ran to him. He held me tight in his arms.

'I'm sorry pumpkin for not coming on time, Did he do anything to you?" He apologized.


"No, he only tried to bite my neck, I'm sorry."

"Shush, pumpkin, don't cry, it's not your fault, he won't leave something that isn't his alone," he said.

Looking up to the vampire, his pissed off face returned.

"Long time no see, Kael," he said. He knew him. Kael scoffed and looked away.

'You always come in at the wrong time," Kael said, looking almost as angry as Axel.

'You wanted to mark her, not thinking of the pain she would go through if you did."

Kael looked at me, looking sorry. I looked away.

'I'm sorry love, I didn't know you would get hurt," he said to me and I didn't respond.

"And what are you doing in her room?" Axel asked, trying to hold his anger in. I held his arms and he relaxed immediately.

'Seeing my mate of course," he said, and I turned to look at him immediately. He smiled when I looked at him.

'Yes, I am your mate," he said smiling at him.

I looked up to Axel and he looked away sadly.

'Axel is it true?" I asked shocked.

"I will explain everything to you later pumpkin."

'I can explain if you want," Kael said, still smiling.

"I don't need your explanation," I said to him, and he laughed. Axel smiled at me.

"Kael, leave my palace."

"Like I don't have a palace, just so you know I'm not leaving her for you," he warned and disappeared.

'Axel, explain why he said I'm his mate, I thought you said I was your mate?" I asked worriedly. I don't want to be a mate to a cold blooded vampire.

"Sit down, I will explain everything to you."

I sat down on the bed, and he did also, holding my hands which I pulled back. He groaned and pulled it back, and he held me closer to his side.

"You see, he was cursed by a witch who was sent to kill us, cursed not to ever have a mate, and he couldn't be a leader in his clan for too long without a mate."

But his father found out, and asked another witch to reverse the curse. As she couldn't, she made him have to share a mate with his dreaded enemy which is me.

So whoever marks you first will have you, and the other stays mateless except he is shown mercy by the Moon Goddess," he explained.

"That's confusing and sad, nobody's meant to be alone," I whispered.

'I know, but I can't leave you to him," he said looking dejected.

'But I'm here with you, you don't have to be scared," I said cupping his face.

'What if I reject you both? What would happened?"

"We would die at the loss of the bond, you will feel it but not the way we would."

"Do you want to reject me?" He asked growling, and pulling me closer to him.

'No, Axel leave my arms, you are hurting me."

'You want to leave me for him? Huh why?" He asked.

'No, I didn't say that, I was just curious." I realized it was Lucian that was getting annoyed.

'Lucian, I don't want to go to him, I don't even find him attractive, I want to stay with you," I confessed blushing.

He smiled and I pulled him into a kiss, and he growled kissing me back.

After I broke the kiss, he held me in his arms.

'I didn't want to make you feel like I wanted to reject you, but I was just getting curious and felt like asking you."

"I'm sorry for getting rough with you, Lucian thought you were rejecting us for that cold blooded creature, and he got annoyed"

'But I'm with you and not with him, I don't even find him attractive," I said smiling


"Being with me doesn't mean he can't take you away, Vanessa, I have to mark you," he said. I know it was Lucian, since he called me by my name.


'But it would hurt a lot," I said, a little bit scared. I couldn't imagine him biting down my neck but I knew it was for my own safety.

'I know pumpkin, I have to keep you safe and forever mine," he said.


'I'm ready," I replied.

"It doesn't have to be today pumpkin, we can do it some other times," he replied shaking his head.

'I know, but I want to do it now" I said bravely.

"Sure? I'm not rushing you."

"I know. Do it now," I said looking at him. He nodded.

I bent my neck for him to bite me when an arrow went through the space between I and Axel.

'Not on my watch" a man said smirking.

" Long time no see Axel," he said.
