Adam avoided me for days, even when I called him, he would look at me with contempt and ignore me.


'Adam," I called when I saw him leaving his room, he turned when he saw I was the one, he sneered and left. I felt bad.

One day, he was in the dining room, eating when I walked in and sat down. This was the first time in two weeks I was this close to him, and I wouldn't let the opportunity slide past me.

'Adam," I called out and he ignored me, and continued pressing his phone.


'I'm sorry for letting you down, and if there's any way I can use to compensate for my errors, I'm ready to do so," I pleaded.

He looked at me, I could feel his anger radiating from where he sat.


"Please, don't keep me silent."

"I have heard, but your help is no longer needed Rhea."

'Please, Adam."

'Fine, the only way you can help is to go back to the Blood Moon pack and get the scroll, in that way you can have your revenge, and I can have mine." He dared me to say I can't do it.

'But I can't, I love him already, I know I wasn't supposed to, but I have, and I can't stop loving him," I cried.

'Tsk tsk tsk, why did I ever bother answering you," he said, and left the table.

Rachel was watching what happened and immediately Adam left, she came to me, and hugged me, comforting me.

"Sorry for making your dress wet with my tears."

'It's fine Rhea, you have done more than that for me, and this is the only way I can repay you back."

"Can you talk to him please, he always listens to you." I looked at her hopefully.

'I have tried, but he shouted and warned me never to say such a thing to him.Come, let's go to your room you need to rest," she said, leading me there.

I laid down facing the ceiling, she was patting my head affectionately.

"Rhea, should I be honest with you?" She asked, and I nodded. I would do with some advice now because I'm very confused on what to do next.

'Adam is right, you are letting your love for that werewolf blind you from doing the right thing. You need to avenge your parents death, I mean you saw how they were killed like livestock. They deserve to get their revenge through you. Don't let your emotions get in the way," she said, and I sobbed more.


Maybe they are right. Axel didn't bother to listen to me. He walked away immediately without hearing me out, and I won't let him get in the way of something I have been waiting for all my life.

'Rhea you know what, once Adam comes back, why don't you go and tell him you are ready to go back and take the scroll. Your parent's death revenge is more important than any filthy emotion you are feeling right now," she added.

"But, I can't, I still love him and I can't be the architect of his misfortune," I said.

'Despite everything he did to you? Think about it," she replied smiling.

"I want to sleep now," I said, and she nodded smiling.

"No, stay with me."

"Are you sure? I would be a pest, and disrupt your peace and quietness. And you need it "

I laughed.

I remembered when I was called a mere concubine by the Elders just because of Axel, and I felt worse.

'I don't care," she smiled, and sat down amusing herself with a book she went to pick from her room.

When I woke up in the evening, I looked around for Racheal, but I remembered she had left for her work.

After dinner, I walked down to Adam's study. He was a workaholic and I was sure he was back and in there.

I knocked at the door.

'Come in." I opened the door and walked in, he groaned when he lifted his head and saw me.

'What are you doing here Rhea? Are you here to rub it on my face that you loved a werewolf that caused me pain?" He said.

'Why don't you try to find the particular werewolf that hurt you, and take revenge?"

'The whole werewolf would suffer, and you will do it, you have to."

'But I don't want to. Why me? Send someone else instead."


"It's you, because you are the only one that has managed to capture his heart all these years, no woman I have sent was able to get to his heart like you did," he said frowning.

'If I had my way, I would not send you back there again, but you already know your way around the palace so you are the best candidate for this job," he added.


'Oh Rhea, enough of my sugary advances to you, I have kidnapped your best friend Olivia and if you don't do it, then she does." I gasped.

I couldn't let her die just because of my selfish interest.

" Fine, I will do it."

'If I had known she was one of your weaknesses earlier, I would have taken her earlier. You will be going back tomorrow."

'But how will I go back with my face, they will kill me."

'Don't worry about that, leave it all to me, I will handle that. Now, I'm busy."

I ran out of his office and I could hear him snicker.

I met Rachel on my way to my room and she looked at me worriedly as I was sobbing profusely.

'My life is a mess, Rachel."

'No, it's not, everything would be alright with time. Sorry dear." I nodded, wondering how a sweet soul like Racheal could stay with a monster like him and don't break down.

"How did you manage to stay with him?"

"He's not a bad man, losing your whole family in one day is very traumatizing. Just understand him," she said stroking my hair.
